- We designed and created our own shock bearing eyelets for increase shock sensitivity on our full suspension bikes. In order to remove the Rocky Mountain shock bearing eyelets, you'll need the Rocky Mountain bearing removal tool, Part number 1810031.

Pressfitting on bikes needs to stop. It makes it so hard to work on this when you always need some proprietary tool and some press or vise. It’s crazy.
Cool design, but it's not too helpful when riders want to change out their rear shock and can't get proprietary parts from RM...
I had previously searched the net for a vid / guide showing this exact process but couldn't find anything so thanks for making this. Great resource for customers, keep them coming!
I was looking for this a week ago to change out the coil on my Slayer...
Nice videos to help customers!
Are those 2021 Altitude shock bearing eyelets the same as for the 2018-2020 Altitude ?
And... does this bearing removal tool work for the 2018-2020 Altitude ?
On the website it says this tool is only for the 2021 models. Is there a tool for the 2020 models?
Would this fit a 2019 altitude?
Hi,
I bought the kit,
but how do I first remove the installed bearings?
I can't find any tool to do that.
I bought a rocky mountain flatline Pro 2008 model and I can't find parts where's the best place to get them from
Hi RM Team, I need one of these tools now cause I'm swaping my Float X2 to an Öhlins TTX, where can I source one? Can you help? Thanks
Hey Thierry, check out shop.bikes.com and search "Bearing Eyelet Tool Kit"
I wish you'd shown the stage where you installed the second bushing on the rear end of the shock. That's what I can't get in to reassemble :(
Yeah I am having the same problem did you find out how to get it in?
Dont fit on a 2021 instinct powerplay.....
How do I get the bearing cup pressed into a new shock without a vice?
A small sized bearing press could do the trick to re-install new eyelet bearing cups on the rear shock. If you don't have access to one, your local authorized Rocky Mountain dealer can help you out with the process!
Was hard to remove it , without this tool, cant find where to buy it?!
How did you make it at the end ? I'm interested cause I need to do it myself
@@thierrymoeurs754 Hi, i put the Part with the bearing cup in an vice with alloy sheet, and moved the rear shock ( damper) with my hands back and forth.
I Hope you understand me with my Bad Englisch.
Cheers
@@hascho89 hi, sounds good to me, I have a vice with what it takes to do that myself. many thanks for the advice

Wtf it's scratching and ruining the bottom knuckle on my DHX2...
Amazing design but can’t buy the stupid removal tool anywhere.
Stupid AF.
So I bought this tool 1810031 first time the tool never arrived, just a broken empty paper envelope, then my friend ordered one; terribly made, the tolerance is terrible the tool doesn’t wrap the bearing correctly so the tool screw doesn’t go through freely, so after being able to “make it work” and having one end loose, now the tool won’t come off from the bearing, by trying to “unscrew” the screw from the fully in position the screw broke inside the tool, this by just using my own force, now the tool and the bearing are attached to one other for eternity and I can install neither the new or the old shock, oh and “oh surprise” the tool is gone from their store! And obviously they don’t have a customer support #, just email and they take like 5 days to reply anything, and they are not helpful at all!! I have had a lot of bike brands, this is BY FAR the worst costumer service I have ever experienced across any service or product, they are useless when it comes to help their customers.
I'm starting to find this out myself!
Yeah, their support and warranty department needs an overhaul. It’s so hard to get any help from them and dealers are confused as well.
Yeah this shit sucks. I have two RMs and even though I love the way they ride it's not worth the hassle. Nevermind the overpriced proprietary stuff
Rocky Mountain is just a shit company. For changing mountain hardware you need a special tool and even for getting the shock out of the frame, you need 2 tools because they use differene sized screws.
