  • Lets check out the new and improved 2020 version of the Haunted House Creations 3 axis talking skull. The 3 axis means the skull has neck, jaw and eye movements and can be controlled by the Servo DMX V2 by Fright Ideas. I'll unbox it and show you what you get, program custom movements through Director and give you my review of whether its worth the money. #3axisskull #halloweendiy #hauntedhousecreations #frightideas #frightprops #unboxing #boobox

      Haunted House Creations really?! The top L1 and R2 buttons seemed to do something else when I filmed this in early 2020, did a new update come out?

    I loved how you added this skull into your halloween gate so i came here to see how you did that. This setup is so expensive and complicated!!😢 I think i will buy an animatronic from a box store and build it into a column. I really appreciate your effort and the $$$ put into your haunt!

      Programming was a breeze if you get that exact controller and fright props has since released additional updates to the director program and firmware for the booxbox. I was able to connect this skull into an already dmx daisy chain of Chauvet led lights so I could keep my light animation and the skull animations on the same scenes in director. Hope this helps give you an update, sorry for the delay Dave!

      There’s a feature within director for the skull to mimic audio voiceover your add to it! As for premade show voices, I haven’t had to look but, im sure there’s some out there on RUclips or on royalty free sites.

      @@menaceproductionsI’m about to dive into programming ours. We’ve just been playing with it out of the box and putting audio to it to react.
      Your video helped it click in my mind that the BooBox is kind of important for it to be the controller for the skull. That the DMXServo it comes with doesn’t really store data on it? (Maybe just the demo movements?)
      So you’re saying that I could control the movements for everything in my Director show, but have the option to let the jaw still react to the audio waveform?
      Basically we’re wanting the ambient scene to be the skull not moving, eyes not lit up, nothing happening. Then we trigger the scene and its eyes light up white, it begins to talk from audio, then the eyes turn red while its voice gets more demonic. Just programming the head movement shouldn’t be bad, but I’d be afraid I’d get bad jaw movement that doesn’t look right.

      @@austingodbey glad to hear my video helped! You can absolutely let the 3axis skull react to audio but, if you want a timed scene with eye color changes and programmed movements you’re going to need to program that in director (or some type of software) and store on a controller (like the boobox). Sadly the servoDMX just sends signals to the servos.

    How would you attach the skull to a body prop.... isn’t it a bit heavy? What if you want the entire prop animated.... what kind of supports would be needed?

    • @menaceproductions
      @menaceproductions  3 года назад

      Fright props offers a spinal cord accessory so you could seamlessly attach it to a Bucky skeleton. The skull isn’t very heavy maybe a couple of pounds however, you would need to make sure whatever prop you attached it to is sturdy enough to handle that weight and had a place to attach the threaded rod in the video or the spinal cord. I personally wouldn’t recommend adding this skull on to a animated prop unless is was something that moved slow and smooth. Hope this helps!
