I've been going through RUclips looking for a video about freezing peppers for stuffing and this one is perfect! Learning about Cuneo peppers is an added bonus. I'll be on the lookout for them and will definitely plant some next year. Thank you!
I just finished up freezing this years peppers. The peperone di cuneo peppers are great for stuffing but the seeds can be hard to find. Thanks for watching.
I watched this video as I am getting my bell peppers ready for the freezer. I have never frozen my peppers before. I have several large ones that I am freezing whole… And lots of them that I am cutting smaller to freeze that way. Thank you so much for a complete, easy-to-follow video. I have more confidence now in freezing them. I also have the food saver vacuum process that I will be using.
They are the easiest veggie to freeze. With the foodsaver brand bags they will stay well for a year. We used to freeze using ziplock freezer bags and they would get freezer burn in a couple months. Thanks for watching.
We have a machine as well, it is an awsome addition to any kitchen. Watching your videos has taken the hesitations I had for my canning beginnings. 😂 love your channel 👍 new subscriber. Thank you and God Bless 🙏
We couldn't live without ours. Just go slow and follow the steps in the Ball Blue Book for the recipe without skipping any. Always check the seal, smell, and look of each jar before consuming the contents. It's a great way to enjoy your garden year round. Thanks for watching and subbing.
These are the best and most informative videos on food I've ever seen.Listening to you talk and work is like being at home with family and you feel welcome and comfortable. Please can you do a freezer tour next?? I bet it's as fascinating as your root cellar....
Our freezers are not that spectacular. We have 2 small chest freezers. 1 with veggies and baked goods, the other with meat , poultry, and seafood that we stock up on whenever we find a sale. Thanks for watching.
Right on about vacuum seal. They rarely go off and are great eating. A suggestion... freeze your tomatoes as whole, on a tray and then bag them. They are like using fresh tomatoes in chili and other recipes. Think golf balls or cricket ball sizes, they work a treat in any cooked tomato recipe AND they taste fresh.... Cheers
I only freeze them to use as fresh chopped peppers, JALAPENOS . Most are dehydrated, like Cayenne, Habaneros, and some Jalapenos to. into flakes and powder There nice to sprinkle favor and spice on foods. Plus you still can make hot sauces, from the dehydrated pepper flakes and powders too
We seal all our dehydrated stuff in the plastic bags. Make them a little longer so you can zip off the end remove some then reseal. The specialized jar lids are very expensive. Thanks for watching.
They help frozen food last so much longer. Expensive up front, but worth it with the amount of food they keep from getting freezer burn. Thanks for watching.
I don't think I've ever seen the small round ones before. What region do you live in? I will look for them in Los Angeles at the farmers market when it reopens.
I do save some seeds, but also like to buy some fron Baker Creek to keep the catalogs coming. I have seen no difference between the 2 when it comes to the harvest. I save all my bean, lima, okra, and parsley seeds. The cukes, melons, gourds, and squash seeds cross pollinate and are not worth saving. Thanks for watching.
Cucumbers and peppers were through the roof this year! We finally pulled up the plants last week to stop them from producing any more. Tomatoes, not so much. I'm in Iowa, BTW.
I can't believe we still have buckets of peppers in the garden this time of the year. Usually frost has wiped everything out by now. Thanks for watching.
Compost. Plants love it. Different peppers have different wall thicknesses so be sure to start seeds that will grow the type wall and flavor you seek. Thanks for watching.
Don't know. We stuff them while still frozen and they cook up great. The slices get used in cooking and stay nice. I wouldn't plan on defrosting and eating raw though. Thanks for watching.
Yes I do. We wait for the end of season ones and use the largest fruit for seeds on some varieties. I also like to give Baker Creek Seeds business so I don't save them all. Thanks for watching.
Got it from Costco. It's a foodsaver and I wouldn't buy another the way it's acting up lately. Didn't last that long for the price. Thanks for watching.
Could you tell me what model Food Saver machine you have? I have bought a couple of the cheaper models and had nothing but problems with them. but your machine seems to do it all. Thanks for all your help and video's
I don't know the model. We got it at Costco several years ago and it has worked great. I think Costco has their own model numbers. The new ones they have now look different but probably work the same. I tried a cheep one first and it did not last very long before the vaccum pump went out. It also came with marinating containers and a wine bottle seal. Thanks for watching
I wouldn't buy another foodsaver. I am looking for a good one now also. One that doesn't take a minute between bags and is reliable with a remote hose. I will make a video when I find one. Thanks for watching.
We do save some seeds like beans, limas, okra, parslery, cilantro, & basil. The rest we like to order from Baker Creek to give them some sales. Thanks for watching.
Extremely sweet with a very thick wall. They are great for stuffing both fresh with like a tuna salad, and after being frozen and then baked. Thanks for watching.
I think blanching would make them mushy and have never tried it with peppers. Peppers seem to be the only veggie that can be frozen without blanching. Thanks for watching.
It is one of the FoodSavers that was a good deal at Costco. I originally started with one of the low cost Presto ones and it only lasted a couple of months. This one will also work with reusable seal containers and wine bottle seal corks. Thanks for watching.
I have been using Corel videostudio x9. It is a love hate relationship everytime windows updates, but for $35.00 it gets the job done. I gave up with the microphone in my camera and just voice over everything now with a Blue snowball mic. Thanks for watching.
We just use them right from the freezer. My wife stuffs them frozen and we chop them up for recipes frozen. I wouldn't defrost them and expect them to be crispy like fresh peppers. Thanks for watching.
Hey new subscriber! Been gardening now and love your channel! Check mine out sir! we are gold miners. I have a huge amount of peppers and was looking to see if they can freeze well thanks. Do they get kind of mushy when thawed out? And is there a special way to thaw them out? Thanks again great looking pepper!
They do get soft if you defrost them. We usually stuff them while still frozen or just slice them up for cooking. They retain great flavor. Good luck with your mining operation. Thanks for watching
If i askd you to mail me 4 or 5 seeds of the tiny yellow and red peppers and 4 or 5 seeds of your bell pepper would you? Even if answer is no liked and subbed
I really would like to see you support Baker Creek seeds and buy some from them so they keep bringing forward new varieties like this. Here is a link and there are 10 seeds in a pack www.rareseeds.com/habanada-sweet-pepper/ . I do not save any other pepper seeds for the same reason. They have a great selection of heirloom seeds and keep bring back some of the older varieties for gardeners to try. Great company to buy seeds from. Thanks for watching.
Thank you you’re video was seven years ago but has helped me a bunch in 2024 😊
I'm glad it's still helpful after all this time. We love the stuffed peppers in the winter months. Thanks for watching.
Most beautiful peppers. The video was excellent! Thank you.
Peppers are the one thing that are easy to grow. I have about 40 pounds of them to deal with this week. Thanks for watching.

I watched several videos before I found this one. Exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks!
The vacuum sealer keeps freezer burn away. Thanks for watching.
Makes me hungry. Great looking peppers. Good info, Thanks..... Tony
Been a good year for most of my peppers, but lack of sunshine has made them very late. Thanks for watching.
Your food always looks so fresh and heathy. I love your videos.
It is always fresh picked so that helps. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for sharing what works!! I learn something in all your videos! Thanks!
Thanks for watching.
Wow those peppers were beautiful!
Thanks for watching.

We can all our tomatoes. They take up to much room in the freezers. The canned ones have amazing flavor also. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful peppers and great explanation. Just to clarify... you do not blanch the peppers before freezing.? Thank you in advance.
We do not blanch them. Thanks for watching.
Lovely video and advice. Thank you!
Thanks for watching.
so nice and beautiful peppers
We enjoy them year round. Thanks for watching.
Just picked, cut, sealed and froze pepper today myself. Thanks
I have so many that I don't know what to do with them all this year. Probably be roasting a bucket of red ones tomorrow. Thanks for watching.
I only freeze them to use as fresh chopped peppers, JALAPENOS . Most are dehydrated, like Cayenne, Habaneros, and some Jalapenos to. into flakes and powder There nice to sprinkle favor and spice on foods. Plus you still can make hot sauces, from the dehydrated pepper flakes and powders too
We freeze chipped ones and dehydrate them also. These make awesome stuffed peppers. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Very cool
Excellent!!! My favorite kitchen appliance!!!
Being Costco members we use ours quite a bit also. Thanks for watching.
Great explanations on using a Food Saver! Its on my buy list but was wanting it more for sealing canning jars of dehydrated stuff!
We seal all our dehydrated stuff in the plastic bags. Make them a little longer so you can zip off the end remove some then reseal. The specialized jar lids are very expensive. Thanks for watching.
Looks real good! I havnt broke dwn and bought a food saver yet but its on my list with a decent meat grinder! Enjoy the videos! Thanks!!
They help frozen food last so much longer. Expensive up front, but worth it with the amount of food they keep from getting freezer burn. Thanks for watching.
Always learn something new from you. TX
We all learn from each other. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic video as always.
Thanks for watching.
Great job with this video.
Thanks for watching
I don't think I've ever seen the small round ones before. What region do you live in? I will look for them in Los Angeles at the farmers market when it reopens.
They are called Peperon Di Cuneo peppers. Baker Creek sells the seeds. I am in NY south of lake Ontario. Thanks for watching.
Thank you I'm going to freeze some like this.. use my vacuum sealer. Thank you sir
We just got done freezing ours. Thanks for watching.
Do you harvest seeds for planting the following year?
I found that seeds grown in my garden adapt to my area better.

I can't believe we still have buckets of peppers in the garden this time of the year. Usually frost has wiped everything out by now. Thanks for watching.
Good to know. Thank you so much
It's the easiest way to store them. We also blister some red ones to remove the skin and freeze. Thanks for watching.
TYFS love all of your videos. Why do you not save and dry the seeds from your heirloom veges?
I do save some of them, but I also like to give Baker Creek some sales to keep the great catalogs coming. Thanks for watching.
I thank God that we don't have winter here in Kenya. We grow our pepper all year, no need to freeze them, get them fresh every day
We love winter so have to preserve veggies to enjoy year round. RUclips makes the world seem small. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful peppers 👍
Thanks for watching.
Your peppers are beautiful. Mine have thin walls. Can you tell me or please do a video on nutrients you add to the soil.
Compost. Plants love it. Different peppers have different wall thicknesses so be sure to start seeds that will grow the type wall and flavor you seek. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching.
I'm certainly not looking forward to winter coming, but I am looking forward to your chili recipe.
It is just a very simple chili. The heirloom tomatoes and anaheims give it great flavor. I will make a video. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing God bless you
Thanks for watching.
Are they mushy when thawed since your not blanching?
Don't know. We stuff them while still frozen and they cook up great. The slices get used in cooking and stay nice. I wouldn't plan on defrosting and eating raw though. Thanks for watching.
Great video. Thanks! One question.
You don't save any of the seeds for next year?
Yes I do. We wait for the end of season ones and use the largest fruit for seeds on some varieties. I also like to give Baker Creek Seeds business so I don't save them all. Thanks for watching.
Look great beautiful peppers
Where did you purchase your machine? Name of it?
Got it from Costco. It's a foodsaver and I wouldn't buy another the way it's acting up lately. Didn't last that long for the price. Thanks for watching.
Thank you!
Thanks for watching.
How long will they last in the freezer?
Properly sealed in a cold freezer they stay pretty good for about a year. Thanks for watching.
Could you tell me what model Food Saver machine you have? I have bought a couple of the cheaper models and had nothing but problems with them. but your machine seems to do it all. Thanks for all your help and video's

We have a Food Saver and love it! Love the videos!
It makes everything last longer in the freezer, we used to loose quite a bit to freezer burn before using one. Thanks for watching.
This is my first year growing peppers .I had a ton of green ones . I want to make sweet relish? Any info would help ! Thank you
Never tried that. We usually freeze them for stuffing. Thanks for watching.
Thank you. Did you say you cut, “prefreeze” for an HOUR and then package them in groups to freeze 🥶?
Yes so they don't get crushed by the vacuum sealer. Thanks for watching.
They don’t get crushed when using the vacuum sealer if they are frozen first. Also, for those that you slice up, they don’t freeze in one big clump.
Great video
Thanks for watching.
I'm in the market for a new vacuum sealer. Do you have any recommendations?
I wouldn't buy another foodsaver. I am looking for a good one now also. One that doesn't take a minute between bags and is reliable with a remote hose. I will make a video when I find one. Thanks for watching.
When you freeze the peppers this way, are the peppers really soft when you thaw them out? Thank you
Yes they are soft and only good for cooking or stuffing . Thanks for watching.
I have the Nutrichef and use with premade bags. Sooo much quicker.
I started buying Avid Armor premade bags also. Got a couple thousand assorted sizes on prime day for under $100. Thanks for watching,
Whats the best way to freeze them
Best to flash freeze before bagging. Thanks for watching.
Why do you take the seeds out before freezing?
They are bitter and you need them hollowed out to freeze well. Thanks for watching.
Great video. I learned a lot
Peppers are so easy to freeze. We just thawed some and made stuffed peppers that had the same flavor as fresh picked peppers. Thanks for watching.
Pretty peppers!
Thanks for watching
Awesome information! I'm a Subscriber now!
Thanks for watching and subbing.
I’d love to see your freezer!!
Not many veggies in them. We can most of the veggies. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the videos :) I was wondering if you save any seeds and if you do have you made a video on it thanks
We do save some seeds like beans, limas, okra, parslery, cilantro, & basil. The rest we like to order from Baker Creek to give them some sales. Thanks for watching.
looked wonderful hint: cook stuff peppers place in center of plate surrounded by speaghetti weluv stuffed peps
Thanks for watching.
Are the small round peppers hot or sweet ?
Extremely sweet with a very thick wall. They are great for stuffing both fresh with like a tuna salad, and after being frozen and then baked. Thanks for watching.
A metal melon baller takes out the white part easily
That's a great idea. Thanks for watching.
Does flash freezing do the same thing that blanching does?
I think blanching would make them mushy and have never tried it with peppers. Peppers seem to be the only veggie that can be frozen without blanching. Thanks for watching.
like your sealer what brand is it?
It is one of the FoodSavers that was a good deal at Costco. I originally started with one of the low cost Presto ones and it only lasted a couple of months. This one will also work with reusable seal containers and wine bottle seal corks. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for this video!
Thanks for watching.
From the thumbnail, I thought they are skateboard wheel replacements.
Thet wouldn't last long.
We enjoy the heck out of your channel! Have a off topic question though...what do you use for video & sound editing?
I have been using Corel videostudio x9. It is a love hate relationship everytime windows updates, but for $35.00 it gets the job done. I gave up with the microphone in my camera and just voice over everything now with a Blue snowball mic. Thanks for watching.
Could you share your stuffed peppers recipe with us?
I will make a video when she makes them this winter. Thanks for watching.
Now thats red and green
The peperon di cunos have amazing flavor and color.
Thanks love to learn something usefull.
Thanks for watching.
I freeze my peppers like this they do come out soggie does yours
We just use them right from the freezer. My wife stuffs them frozen and we chop them up for recipes frozen. I wouldn't defrost them and expect them to be crispy like fresh peppers. Thanks for watching.
Can freeze with the seeds
No. Thanks for watching.
would love to see a chili recipe video!
I will make one this winter. Thanks for watching.
♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️
Thanks for watching.
Clean them, Just bag them and pop the in the freezer
Vac sealing them gives us the best results. Thanks for watching.
try a hair iron (curling iron) or a laundry iron.
For what?
use them to seal the ends of the bags quicker when you're making them (not for finishing though, you still need the suction for that).
I never heard of anyone doing that before.
yeah, it's similar to how you do mylar bags. it's just heat that seals it.
No pulse on my machine😩
Time for a new machine if you seal fragile items. Thanks for watching
I would love these cuneo peppers but live in UK and never ever seen them. Love the videos 👍🏻

I agree. Thanks for watching.
I'll be doing this between batches of tomato sauce for the few weeks.
Not one batch of sauce for me this year, lucky last year was a good year for tomatoes. Have fun, thanks for watching.
