I taught myself to can 2 years ago at 60. Although I'm thankful to have learned that skill, with my current health condition, freezing is much easier and better. It is good to know you are able to grow seeds from frozen. Thank you.

My sweet mother used to cut any color bell 🫑 peppers into fairly ling strips, place them all into a good ziplock bag, then ..... fill bag 75% full of water, & place in the freezer.
Zero freezer burn, looked wonderful when using them for recipes. ❤

I tried freezing them last year. I wasn't too happy with the softness of them in salads, but the flavor of them cooked in stews and soups was like fresh from the garden. Great idea.

When you cook them the skins will automatically come off & rise to the top . Just skim them off if it bothers you.
In 1973 some known cook said.freezing tomatoes with the skin on was.LAZY & horrible. I had 5 kids over a 17 year spread. I took the easy way!!
      Salads? Nah. Soups, stews etc.YES!!

Thank you for answering my question about growing tomato seeds that were frozen! I froze some tomatoes last week just for planting next spring. I also froze some bell peppers and sweet onions. I wash and slice my onions and bell peppers and freeze them in the same bag, and they are ready for fajitas, stir fry, etc...
Robbie, do you have a video of you making your salsa? I would love to watch it if you do. 😊❤❤😊

Missouri is hot and humid during tomato season. Fungus was a problem until I started trimming sun leaves off the bottom and anything that made it crowded. No, I don't take off what people call suckers, they make tomatoes too! And my sweet yellow cherry tomato spent the winter inside like a house plant. I've over-wintered my favorite Anaheim pepper two winters. I love free veggies!

One year I decided to do an experiment to trim my cheery tomato plants. Lots of labor work during the growing season. Yes, I had bigger cherry tomatoes but the flavor….was kind of different. I missed the flavor of smaller chewy tomatoes. Obviously it was up to personal preference. From that point on, I have stopped trimming my cherry tomatoes plants unless they are out of hand. Then, I keep some of the suckers/branches to grow more if I want to 😊 or I compost them.

Those tomatoes will taste so good in the winter! I never prune my tomatoes either, except for bottom leaves touching the ground or yellowing or unhealthy looking leaves. I’ve also always frozen my extra tomatoes too. If you freeze the larger tomatoes and then run them under water while they’re still frozen, the skins will slip right off.

People prune their cherry tomatoes because they’ve always heard to prune tomatoes but that advice is for growing large slicers, cherry tomatoes should never be pruned except for health (bottom stems or thinning in blight prone areas).

And Great Idea on Freezing the cherry tomatoes! But, Please, I asked a question a while ago .
What do you use to cover your plants when you made your own (stakes and irrigation tubing) and you had a cover.
I have opossum's and tree rats that like to eat my cherry tomatoes. I would like to protect them. I
    bought stakes and tubing already.
I just need to know what to put around it to protect my tomatoes. Thanks!
