In my youth I would daydream of fast cars mansions and beautiful girls. I’m 53 now and dream of living in a van down by a river with a bunch of awesome RC vehicles and a couple of nice bicycles. Wisdom, once acquired is a beautiful thing.
I remember when I was a child I had an extended van I'm sure was made by Tonka. It was all fitted out like an RV conversion. When I saw your Winebego I could just see that van fitted out with RC gear. And playing with it forever! In fact I had a huge sand box when I was little and I was the most popular kid on the block with the other boys. One year my Grandpa Bud built me a whole set of outbuildings and a house. And I used to dream of having all of my Tonkas and Eartil trucks tractors loaders and dozers radio controlled. I'm 50 now and don't have any of that stuff left. My cousins destroyed all of my and my uncle's toys that I took so much care of. Keep making memories bro they last forever!
I've been wanting to get into rc hobbies for a while, I've been having a lot of trouble in getting started/finding ways to build a consistent collection, but now that I see this, events like this seem like a really awesome place to get advice and find stuff I want. Looking online isn't as easy for me as I thought it would be.
One just need 2-3 fine models. But some choose to but down thousands of $ and 50 models, most just sitting on the shelf anyway, naturally to great joy for the manufacturers and dealers)
Kentucky is an awesome place. The people are great. Some beautiful places out there. That looked like a fantastic place to R/C crawl. Thanks for sharing this. And yes please, find the Diecast and post it when you get a chance. Really like to see that. I'm cutting up my first diecast and it happens to be a coupe. Just recently learned that customizing diecasts is a thing. And it leads to ideas about customizing R/C vehicles.
You seem so genuine and I don't think I speak alone that you've had your past and rc seems to be a way that you have found your dreams coming through to the true stage. I'm happy for you. I'm to in that road. I just bought my first climber/trail truck. I gen red at 7, I also purchased a 45kg servo, a cheapo off temu but the 35 kg one I purchased for my basher E-Maxx does really well. I just installed two King Val 550 12 turns and a 68 tooth mod spur with 19 teeth pinons and it's a beast. I have truly no idea what I was building but I watched you and several others but keep checking your videos out for inspiration. I thought I coined the saying" it is what it is" but you put it into perfect context and on exactly the right content 😅. For the gen 7 I purchased titanium injura portal axles. I'm super excited to throw them on when it all coming the mail. I don't get alot on my disability but the wife seen the improvement in my attitude and a upper to my depression and allowed me to purchase lol. Anyways, keep on keeping on brother, look forward to more videos
Thank you brother. We all have our pasts, rc has been a savior for a lot of folks myself included. Lost faith in humanity long ago but after getting out to these type events and just being around so many kind like minded people it really does help. When I started all this I had no idea what I was doing either, with content or my builds in general. But that’s become the fun part trying things out and learning. The best lessons are self taught. Just keep it fun brother. Whatever you build is your own creation 🤘
@@RCeveryday yes you are very correct about giving up on humanities abilities to be human. That's why I personally love to watch all your endeavors and listen to your downfalls and overcome strengths. I've yet to go to any events or anything, as a matter of fact you're the first person I've spoken to about this hobby except for the wife and my mom and they are just like dang find someone to talk to to lol. So truly thank you for replying I know that you have other things to do except invest in a newbie lol. I hope I regain some of my faith in this world when I make it to a event but meeting others like yourself would be a Godsend. Btw I know you don't seem much into the basher but I got the E-maxx to do a standing backflip with two brushed motors. I'm all for brushed power, I just like the fact that it's still mechanical. Lol , ok bro I'll quit wasting your time with my b+lls!tt and watch some more videos. Love the 70s Chevy too!! God made good better when he made a Chevy trucks. Keep it safe!
No worries brother. I read every comment. This is my life now days. Just talking shop with anyone and everyone that reaches out. My personal life is still chaos. So this is a nice reprieve. It’s insane the power modern brushless setups provide. I am not a big fan of electronics, so I keep most of my rigs simple with cheap electronics. For me it’s all about the engineering and design of the chassis. Just always been my thing. Been an idiot savant with engineering my whole life. Lol. No degrees, no training, just making things work. That’s what has been fun with being friends with jeremy at big squid rc. Total basher type guy. Last week when I was up at his place we drove monster trucks and flew airplanes. Totally out of my wheelhouse. By no means a good driver at all. But it was hella fun doing something out of the ordinary.
@@RCeveryday Man I understand that part about life being in chaos, me and the wife packed up and moved to Tennessee about mid January. I was sleeping in my truck in the local cemetery there and she was staying at her mom's. Here's a kicker I own 10 acres of land not a half mile the way a crow flies from the cemetery but I got when my mom and dad divorced and my dad lives on it, so to me he has the right until he dies. We do not get along, so when me and the wife lost our house we were living in for about 6 months I was showering at the few friends I have and this is my hometown. I won't lie , I made some bad choices and I wasn't running from them I was just tired of making them and it seemed like I was branded in that town. I'm 38 years old and I called my mom told her look I'm ready for a change. I've been clean and become I hermit lol. So I got to watching RUclips, ran across rc shows. I got stampede nitro truck, I'm opposite I love electronics so I don't know exactly what I was doing there but I thought I that would be cool as hell making little motors run and driving them. I can bought half way maybe work on big ones, it didn't take long till I thought, I love fixing power tools, I change motors out with bigger ones and just modify them lol so I will probably like a electric one better. So I got the e maxx. I fixed it, new motors, put oil in the shocks, new tires, I mean it'll do a standing backflip like it's nothing out of the way lol. Boy the excited feeling because I made it do that mechanically was great, then I ran across scale trucks and I was immediately hooked. I'm new to RUclips and really don't know how to even know you replied till my phone told me. I told the wife look I got brave and commented on that guy I'm always watching and he thumb up my comment, lol, she said I look like a kid watching his cartoons on all the rc stuff. Lol. Thank you for the comment back, much love brother and you do a excellent job using what you have. It inspires me so much or you'll style makes me feel up to trying myself. Good to meet you one day on the trail. And yes squid seems like a awesome guy
Heck yeah! Thats what it takes, have to be ready for the change. Everyone in this hobby is like a kid watching cartoons, lol Im out through tennessee a lot travelling to events. Maybe we will cross paths one day. The Krawlzone by Gattlingburg has a few big events every year, havent been there yet. Keep on doing what you like and have fun with it brother.
Axial fest west is a blast, Jefferson state jamboree is a great event to attend and pro line by the fire is a awesome event. All really great events to do some real trailing. This was an amazing experience to watch and it's great to see you with the 1/14 stuff.
