Oh I so want to make one. My 82 year old father lives with me and I let him drive my micro rigs and it puts a smile on his face every time the problem is the track is out back and it's to hard and dangerous for him to walk all the way out back so I'm going to build this for him in the garage I think that will be perfect. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge it's amazing.
AWESOME JOB 👍👍 I have built one in the past for my SCX24, and I used similar techniques. My new one is going to be built in 4 pieces, and will be able to be put under the bed. Will be able to be taken out, positioned in different places/order, and then slid back under a bed. That way it won't take up space (for people with limited area)...
Cool good Job, Rit dyes diluted with water dripped in a bunch of different spots with a eye dropper give the rocks shadows that really make them look real.
Finally, the video is over, and I can start finding stuff to make my own table. Lol my plan is to make a small table that will fit in my car to take it to friends and share it. Thanks for your insite and the good video.
After watching this me and my son started our course build. We don’t have a lot of room so we built ours in 1’x2’ and 2’x2’ modules and built them in a way that we can rearrange them into a new course. A few things I found to help is a hot glue gun to hold stuff in place and painting it in mod podge before spray painting it makes it stand up to abuse a little better. Great build brother and thanks for the inspiration!!!
I'm thinking about building a mini crawler table. Stumbled onto this video and I love that concept!! I don't have a huge amount of room and will need to move it around. This is perfect because it's light weight. Thanks bro 🙏🏼
This is awesome. My kids and I have been building tracks out of their wooden train sets, and my rc car bodies. Loads of fun for all! Would love to have the space to make one like this though.
Badass! I've been looking at hundreds of videos trying to figure out the best way to build a course for my wpl-16s and my scx24. And I think you just fully explained it for me! Ty!
It would be nice to have the space to make it.. Love the fact that you use all the crap laying around to make it. Mother Earth is a happy one today.. :) Great job.. :P
Felt the course a little over a year ago ran it for a while and then it sat and it got knocked over I picked it backup and now I'm building on to it like you are and changing some stuff and making more stuff interesting and just getting back into just enjoying the hobby
sweet course and layout! I am building my own now on a 3'x4' plywood sheet. taking it week by week so I don't rush it and can use it and see what works and doesn't work. for extra grip I sprinkled on some sand from Hobby Lobby and use Loctite spray adhesive to hold it in place and it works wonders.
Love it I wish I had the room to build one I have to build each one of them separate play with them one at a time in my living room but hey whatever keeps me still trailing mi-24 during the winter
Nice to see the crawler table back in action. The videos you did last year is what inspired me to start building one this winter. Made the table so far (roughly 5 x 11ft) and some wooden modular frames to serve as base for the mountains. Then plan to mold the terrain out of chicken wire and use expanding foam to add details. Atm I'm working on a suspension bridge to install, but it's trickier than I thought. Lot of trail and error in getting the angle just right, so heavier vehicles don't flip over.
Awesome course and Thank you for the inspiration! Winter is here and We are in the process of making our own to have fun with. Videos coming soon hope you have a merry xmaxx and happy new year!
That's an awesome crawler landscape!! I've been planning to make something much smaller in an old bookcase, but couldn't think how to make it challenging and interesting, and that's given me loads of inspiration!! Cheers. 😁👍🏻
@@10thScaleGarage Great and thanks very much for replying to my comment. I have a new video out now on the update of my layout plus a special remembrance too.. Hope you like and share.
I'm trying to decide how I'm goin to build a course for my 1/18 crawlers .... I got a 3ftWx6ftL I went to dollar tree and Aldi's for the supplies....that Dollar Tree store is addictive you think you're saving until you reach the register 😅 This video helped me generate ideas on how to paint my course..Thanks For Sharing!
Really great ideas shared here :) I will try and do similar but for my 1/64th scale Sinclo Y60 micro crawler. I hope my track will be 1/10th the size :D
Got myself 4- 5 old wooden chairs that I have repaired and restained 3 or 4 times and now are donners for a few ideas on course challenges, mini and 10th scale...
Looks good! I like the wrapping paper tube bridge, haha! I wonder if spraying a primer or something thicker over the plaster cloth would get rid of the holes, then you could paint. Heck, the spray bedliner in a can might be thick enough, AND it has texture!
Looks killer brother! Im starting my own indoor course around my current work bench, and im using spray foam and rocks. And now im going to go grab some of that plaster cloth
That's one awesome indoor course love the concept I've been collecting materials but no mini course yet maybe 🤔 I'll look into getting some of that plaster roll makes it look pretty cool there's so many ways of doing things I like it thank you for ur video it was helpful
love your videos, the gladiator upgrade video was awesome, love those portal axles, going to order some parts from RCAWD, crawlers are killer. subscribed
First time viewer. Great work and suggestions. Loved the broken arm tangent as well! My wife and I got SCX24s for Christmas (hmm SCX sounds kinda like sex. Maybe they should have used SCX24-7? Lol). Anyway, I love the little buggers! So fun, compact and crawl anywhere convenient. I'm thinking small scale will make up the majority of my crawler "fleet" going forward.
Great video. I'm watching to build my own course. One question. I noticed others would hot glue components before applying the plaster tape. After the plaster dries, how sturdy is it? Do soft spots develop because things weren't glued into position?
The only soft spots are in places where I pulled the plaster tape too tight. The table itself if solid, and the soft spots don’t even really move, even with the heaviest of 24th scale trucks.
I have a graveyard of my kids broke down RC cars and trucks. I should just use their broken vehicles to build a track of them are hobby grade but they’re about to be.😂😂😂
Ur course is pretty awesome love the new bridge!!!!!!!! I wana add to my indoor natural rock crawling course using that stuff. Maybe a hill climb or something like that. Anyway check out mine I got a few vids OlllllllO
@@10thScaleGarage Yeah building materials are crazy marked up now. Ordered online in Canada they would be roughly that much. $30-40 in plaster cloth, $16 spray paints. $10-20 expanded foam. Easily $60 CDN for one obstacle. Paper mache and sanded grout over top would probably be the cheapest. That would cut out the expanding foam and plaster cloth. Outdoor courses can be completely free and easily changed. I prefer them when the weather is agreeable. Winter is coming....

You could even use some spray adhesive to get some real dirt and small rocks mounted on your surfaces.

Your Bob Ross attitude towards this is admirable.
No mistakes. Just happy accidents.

I absolutely love that it is recycled materials

Thanks! I’ve seen people make them out of book shelves, or make each obstacle separately, so they can box them up when they’re not being used.

Great job on this crawler track brother 👍 good way to recycle trash that would otherwise end up in bin
Thanks! Gotta do something with all those busch light beer boxes.
Making the course looks more fun than driving it! Love it
Haha. Yeah, it’s fun to build stuff. Start with nothing- end up with something.

Great Video!!! you make it look so very simple!!!
If I can do it, anyone can.
Cool idea great video
holy sheet that is awesome looking.. my mind just can't wrap around how to layout a course lol..
Cool build so far

I go on tangents sometimes……..
Very interesting idea 💪🏾💯
Thanks! It’s a good time
Literally 😊
What about for outdoor same design to endure outside weather ? Thank you for this
if you’re going outdoors, you might as well make a track with real actual rocks. this track is made to simulate outdoors

Hey buddy 😀. This got me thinking , I wonder how big a mudrunner or snowrunner map would be in 1/24....
Haha. Probably my entire shop
How would the plaster cloth hold up to 10th scale crawlers? If you were to build a bigger obstacle.
Might wanna double up
Coo vid guy
Thanks
@@10thScaleGarage I had to subscribe after you said something about painting the course all vibrant, something that Kevin Spacey would use 😂
Jeremy was really using his head
I prefer to make the course out of pillow. Easier to setup and once you are getting tired, just sleep on top of them
Hahahaha. I’ve done that before.
I'm thinking a psychedelic colored course would be sick. Picture Woodstock...mud, hills, and hippies.
“Don’t take the brown acid!”

That would be crazy

Damnit Jeremy, why you drawing weiners on casts?

Roughly $80 of materials over that trash. Otherwise great video!
