I plan on solo traveling there in the next few years. I hope I can meet a friend before I go, it’ll help me feel safer and they can teach me all about their culture!
Don't worry about coming to Thailand. People here are welcoming. The only thing is there are some people near tourist attraction who want to try to scam you. But it not really dangerous.
I have known Thailand for more than 20 years, and since 2022 I am staying there. In all this time I was never really scammed. In Vietnam I was for around one week, and in Hanoi I was scammed by a taxi driver with rigged metre, and in Saigon my jacket was stolen in a hotel laundry.
So. Thailand is very safe. Most people who complain about scams are too much involved into the nightlife. I never did, so maybe that makes the difference.

Really enjoyed this video. Some good simple advice without going too heavy. I need to look a bit more into the weather in early July as we are going for three weeks this June/early July so I may need to re-jig our itinerary if possible.

Is it necessary to get an E-sim when in Thailand? I usually just roam my own data when I go off country. Lots of videos I have seen for tips in Thailand have all recommended it so just wondering
Do you recommend taking anti malaria pills? We will be going to Bangkok and Phuket which I understand have low/no malaria risk, but also Koh Chang near Trat which I understand has had some malaria cases in the last year. I'm not sure of the costs, side effects, etc.

How do you find the sizes of t shirts and shorts am normally a xxl in t shirts and xl in shorts but this is in the uk and looking to know if there is much difference
They have them, you just have to search around from vendor to vendor. Some will have your size and others may not.

I think it’s better to boom when there. Maybe book first two nights ahead of time then figure it out after those two nights
I have found Airbnb very unpredictable in Thailand. There are many dodgy operators and scams, its just not worth it. Id use Agoda. Id also skip ride shares in Thailand. Just get a metered taxi. Never a tuk tuk. Your hotel will always have private drivers at great rates, and they are trustworthy. Grab is also known as 'Grab a tourists money'

Prostitution is illegal here but it's a big apart of the economy, so it's lightly regulated. Age of consent here is 15. So morally it's wrong but not illegal.
