Good to see people on RUclips reacting to Toby Kieth since his passing. He was a true American. I rmbr well the feeling in the country after 9/11 & this song helped pick us up. Forward to 2003 when I was in Iraq & this song was still very popular. I think this song was to Afghanistan/Iraq what "Proud to be an American" was for Desert Storm (now I'm really dating myself). Unfortunate it took an attack to bring people together. Certainly don't want that to happen again, but I miss the togetherness & patriotism of the time. Toby had his part to play in it.
Toby Keith had so many great songs so whether you need to hear something heartfelt, patriotic, romantic, sad, melancholy, inspiring, thoughtful, or just plain funny, yeah especially funny, then Toby’s got what you need. My favorite songs by Toby Keith are Who’s That Man; Wish I Didn’t Know Now; You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like That; He Ain’t Worth Missing; We Were In Love; Upstairs Downtown; Don't Let the Old Man In; How Do You Like Me Now; Made in America; I Wanna Talk About Me; American Soldier; Trailerhood; A Little Too Late; A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action; and of course Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue. RIP Toby, we miss you!
Toby Keith RIP was terrific with the military, Another great tribute is American Soldier 😊 Did you know it was Keith that discovered Taylor Swift and signed her to his record label 😊
Those of us that lived that morning have it burned into our brains exactly where we were and what we were doing. It’s hard to describe how we all felt on 9/11, but this managed to tell how we felt on 9/12.
Senior Year... English class... the teacher ran in freaking out saying "We're being attacked" and then she turned on the news and we all watched instead of that days lesson.
I was at work mowing lawns at an outdoor music venue when we were called back to the shop. Everyone was watching the tv and we found out. I was fresh out of the Marines the year before. I knew war was coming. My boss was an army vet and agreed with me. Never felt closer to that man than I did at that moment.
Great reaction. RIP Toby, you were a true patriot. As a veteran I appreciate everything that Toby did for the troops and I appreciate your reaction and shout out to us veterans.
This song was supposed to only be for the troops, but a Marine Corps commandant urged him to release the song globally, arguing that it would be a public service.
Toby was also quite the Comedian! He had some really great FUNNY songs! In case you are interested in reacting to one of those, one of my favorites has always been 'How Do You Like Me Now?'. He actually made the childish noise 'neener-neener-neener' into a Guitar riff for that song! I laugh almost every time I hear it and that was from YEARS ago! I hope you check out ALL of his discography. I thought 'Red Solo Cup' was funny. 'I Wanna Talk About Me' was funny. He was always very charismatic. Big-hearted guy, gone too soon. :)
I am a combat vet ( Vietnam ) I don't have the words except to say you can not possibly know the good you have just done. Thank you for this and may God bless you.
@@ArmandoOriz_ Most of the young reactors do not know this. They know next to nothing about 9/11 unfortunately. I'm not saying she doesn't, but from what I have seen, most do not.
His song "Don't Let the Old Man In" performed at the 2023 People's Choice Awards is a must watch, I think. He wrote that song roughly 6 or so years ago after Clint Eastwood inspired him in a conversation by replying, "Don't let the old man in". To make the long story short.
I appreciate his patriotism and love of country. He is greatly missed. I also love his sense of humor which is evident in many of his other songs. Another great patriotic song is God Bless the USA, by Lee Greenwood featuring Home Free and the Air Force singing sergeants. Home Free is a country accapella group. They cover a large variety of musical genres and have a good number of original songs as well. I would love for you to react to them some time.
I can see that your tears are real Kathyrn. Sweetpea, never worry about shedding tears when it comes to standing behind our flat and all that stands for So are so many of us here will do the same thing. Toby was a true blue American who lived by the mantra of God, Country and Family. Darlin' I spent 2 and a half decades serving my country in 3 combat tours in Iraq beginning with Desert Storm. I saw so many horrific things there, not to mention 2 wounds myself, one that nearly killed me. Even after all of this time I still have nightmares a couple of times a month. One of my greatest regrets is that I never got to meet Toby, shake his hand and give him a bear hug and tell him just how much we loved him for his unwavering support he had for us. Toby was an unabashed patriot who wore his love for our country on his sleeve. All of us who served did the same and could care less if it offended you. If being proud of the greatest country is offensive to you, you need to pack your bags and LEAVE because our country is not for you, nor do we want you here.
I grew up listening to this song. RIP toby keith. I turn 18 in a couple months currently i’m in the marine corps and i still blast this song everyday hahahaha.
Originally titled, The Angry American, Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue was Toby's answer to the 9/11 attacks and was also inspired by his father's service in the Army. Toby did 11 USO tours over the years, entertaining American troops. I had the fortune to see Toby five times over the years and he never disappointed. He closed every show with American Soldier and this song. His last words on stage during every performance were, "Never apologize for being patriotic. Fuck 'em." He is already missed. RIP cowboy, and thank you so much for the songs, and the memories. A side note is that when a friend of his daughter had cancer, Toby used his influence to get her seen by St. Jude. She did not survive, but his friend told him about how she arrived at St. Jude with nothing but she was there for weeks and St. Jude provided everything for her, free of charge. They have a residence there with three meals a day and all of her needs were met while they were caring for her daughter. He was so inspired that he built a facility like that for their local cancer center and created a foundation to support it. Truly an American hero.
In June of 2002 I was stationed at MacDill AFB Florida, we were, at that time still heavily involved in Middle Eastern Operations. It was announced that President Bush was coming to the base to address the troops and we were to assemble about 3 hours early in one of the hangers to await his arrival, (Hurry up and wait). As we stood in the hanger, the wing CCMSgt came out on the stage and said, may I present country music recording star Toby Keith. We were stunned, I don’t think anybody expected that. He had 1 other guitarist with him, and of course sang “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue”. That day I became a Toby Keith fan, I still get goosebumps every time I hear it.
The whole country NEEDED this song! It fired up the troops & all of us after 9/11! He made 11 USO trips in war zones to entertain the troops! We have lost a true Patriot & decent man! You served well brother! ❤🫡🇺🇸
RIP Toby Keith , he wasn't going to release this song cause he only wrote and played it on the USO tours but a general told him he should put on an album and well the rest is history
He was on a podcast with Bob Stoops last November and talked about how his dad once asked him why he didn't go play for the service members overseas. Then after his dad passed from a car wreck in 2001, he kinda made it a mission to start playing overseas for them.
One of few who fought, main stream! Not only in the beginning but throughout. Few in the devils industry had the faith to push and support hundreds of thousands men and women serving.

20 years of war and we lost in shameful fashion due to politicians. We saw the towers fall stood up raised our right hand went off to make things right. But our political class used our righteous anger against us. They lined their pockets and their donors made fortunes while we died or were so maimed we wished we were dead.😥😥

You just kind of erased the whole thing you should’ve had a very heartwarming reaction . That video makes me cry and you did not portray that at all. Maybe it’s just my attitude because I’d liked him so much but God bless and I think it’s all about us as Americans and how you should not mess with us….plus he he and his daddy actually contributed to our freedom.
