When I was a kid we would load up the trucks start out on a place called goby and it would come out across the highway from that abandoned train then we would go into windrock and come out in oliver springs why you would spend from Friday evening until Sunday evening and we will camp along the way and fish and just have fun riding trails and a bunch of old trucks. It was the greatest my family owned a lot of the mines and land up there on the opposite side of the road before the state bought them out. On up the hwy in new river is a lot of my family still my grandfather was one of the largest independent miners up there. I miss those days I want to do the same with my kids I am building a rig to take and just camp on back of. Did they take you to the eternal flame?
Sounds like this video brought back a lot of memories that’s awesome man. It’s beautiful up there. We met Spencer and Adam (locals) on our last day there so we had a few hours to ride. They spoke of the eternal flame but we didn’t have to check it out. We figured we’d save it for the next trip up
@koltgene yes it definitely did. I definitely miss those weekend escapes. Hope y'all come back soon and it's a beautiful ride up to the eternal flame. So many miles of beautiful trail.
