    Nice shirt man! Scary first start. I always install chain and rear brake before a first start for that reason - you can at least get it into gear and then hit the brake to force it to stall. Ya live and ya learn!

      Thank you! The shirt is absolutely sick, I love it. Thats a very good point, definitely what im gonna do from now on, certainly beats getting whacked by the plug 3 times mid panic 😂

    Nice work on the build. As Kincade mentioned chain and rear wheel/brakes is a huge help for these situations. I also test my kill switch before first fire just incase. I’m working on a budget 71 yamaha build right now and installed the kill switch how most modern CDI bikes are but I had a brain fart and should have installed it to ground the coil. Realized I only had spark when holding down the button 🤦‍♂️ I knew better but still wired it that way 😂.

      I’m absolutely planning on running a chain and brakes before my first starts, never had one wide open on the first start before 😂 I ran a continuity test on the kill switch today, and it’s unfortunately bad so I’m getting a replacement sent to me so I can kill it the easy way. And it absolutely happens, working on old and new bikes can be tricky because things can be so different and it’s easy to get tripped up like that

    Beautiful bike! Can't wait to see when it's finished!

    Yes, I did the spark plug ZAP when I rebuild my brothers Cr250R. Same thing happened.
    Otherwise, the bike looks great!

      Thank you! Definitely not a perfect first start and freaks you out 😂

    I did not expect that!! You did the only thing you could. it’s not like you can dump the clutch ,no chain , also you had an air cleaner on it so you can’t choke the carb… that had to hurt like hell… Bike looks good though. Now get the kill-switch on!!!!! lol

      It zapped me good!! I've got another kill switch on the way for it, this one will actually work! Lol. Thank you! Excited that the bike is getting closem

      @@ChaseBuiltBikes I know the feeling I built A 1997 CR 125 from the ground up full restoration/mods took forever…

      @@Motocue912 I absolutely love the late 80's CR's. It definitely takes a long time to do a restoration or a build, but in the end I think all the time was well worth it

      @@ChaseBuiltBikes it was a 97 I put that down wrong but I grew up racing 80s and 125 in the 1980s … my buddy Tommy O he loves restoring those old Yamaha 100cc he’s vintage raced all of them… it’s just too old for me. I can’t get my ass on one of those. Lol !!!!

      @@Motocue912 Wait hold on, I know Tommy O! (#32) I met him while I was racing the vintage series on my 88 CR250. I have to think we are talking about the same guy, if that's so, that's awesome! But that sounds just like the Tommy I know. Those older guy on the older bikes really know how to show the young guys how to ride 😂 there was some guys 65+ hucking jumps I would even consider lol

    what happened to the KX250F build?

    • @ChaseBuiltBikes
      @ChaseBuiltBikes  3 месяца назад +1

      I ended up selling the 250f, got the bike running good and took it to the track a couple times, had great power, I ended up selling it because Im a two stroke guy at heart, and really wanted to get back on the two strokes!

      @@ChaseBuiltBikes Nah that's awesome. I was going to get a 07 a few days ago. But bailed cause The whole engine eneded up being toast. Just looking for a project 4 stroke.

      @ChaseBuiltBikes  3 месяца назад +1

      @@bike0662 that's what scary about building or getting a project 4 stroke is the cost of a rebuild. Honestly the 09 I had was a great bike to build, and I think the 07 would be too. That 09 was seriously impressive to me
