This is why people say don't ego lift Cody 😅
Nah this is why you dont stretch before working out, warm up before lifting, stretch AFTER lifting.
@@big_pingu Static stretching, no. Dynamic stretching, yes.
@@HulkVahkiin just warmp up, its simpler and is far less risky
@@big_pingu Exactly. Never stretch before a work out. Not only does it increase your chances of injury but it actually weakens you. Always warm up by either doing cardio or light weights.
@@big_pinguexactly, my max squat was 500 lbs and heaviest leg press was 930 when i capped the machine. Stretching is for relaxing the muscles after they tightened up from the lift itself, wjen you stretch before hand, they become extremely loose and can cause that risk. Ive actually been injured due to this very same situation.
Moral: Don't ego-lift.
I am your 1k like, congratulations 🎊👏
Most guys in the gym who have the mean mug are actually the nicest people.
They usually got that mean mug cuz they're tired as hell lmao
not most. some.
@@Willowposting Pain did it to me. I grew up in a lot of pain and the results besides making me stronger was the mean looking face.
Is it because they are in the zone?
@thornofsociety6857 we know what discernment and respect is. You don't need it sugar coated.
That "velcro" part is gonna be living rent-free in my head for a while. Good LORD😣
Yeah, severe muscle tears are viscerally unpleasant on a LOT of levels.
I tore a muscle in my back many years ago and I still remember the "Krrrrrk" sound 😅
@@TomFoolery350 Tore my left distal biceps tendon about 10 years ago deadlifting. It sounded like a high tension cable snapped...
Thanks for the nightmare fuel gentlemen🥲🥲🥲
Same as an Achilles tear. It feels weird and THEN it hurts. I’ve had it happen twice.
When he said “Super High” I was like niiice
Super high shorts...hes not that cool

Props to that gym bro turning face and helping Cody on the bench
Fucking love Cody man. He’s like yeah I fucked up. lol man
Crazy how we make enemies at the gym but the often be the nicest people just trying to fight their demons too
Poor cesaro catching strays 😂
In his defense cesaro can actually lift 295 no problem
It's a stray, but if my thighs looked like Cesaro's, I'd wear super high shorts too😂
🐈🐈⬛🐕🐕🦺
Ego will get you every time 😂
Bro honestly, im glad cody has come back to wwe into a new lockeroom because i know damn well in a few years time theres going to be so many more stories he will have about certain wrestlers and backstage shenanigans... man is literally a gifted storyteller in and out the ring 😅
I cant wait eventually for Cody to tell even more Randy Orton stories. Since even Orton himself said besides Ted, Cody really was his "sitter" taking care of him and making sure he was at every taping & building he needed to be.
@oralebonafide9720 now that cm punk is back there is definately going to be some sort of stories about certain reactions as Cody was literally in the war games match for the return. No doubt he will give us insight into how much they all knew about punk coming back, and also if theres serious tension in the back amongst certain people.
"Walked in the gym in flip flops, super high..."
Bro.
That Velcro description is so accurate.
The velcro is how I described mine. Exact same feeling and sensation of feeling loss
Did it hurt?
@@MrBeenusno shit
@@MrBeenusThis mf just asked “did it hurt?” 😂😂😂
@@deanb5055 Did it tho?

Cody on edibles..😂
You heardd of Perc Angle. Now get ready for Edible Rhodes. 😂
Super highhhh
He's not talking about being high. Listen again. He's talking about his shorts.
@@brendansullivan7118you’re no fun
@@brendansullivan7118That’s the joke
Im glad hes humble enough to admit he did something stupid
I love Cody for being such a human being to his core
You did my boy cody durty on that thumbnail 😂
Thumbnail ? It's a youtube short........ there is no thumbnail.......
@WorthlessClips There is if you go to the history option u can see it
What's wrong with it?? I don't see any problem
I love that Cody is always super open with everything
Nice how he can fess up and say he screwed up.. real dude.
Godam I had same injury years ago...velcro is how I told people it sounded and felt...no pain though...the surgery and recovery was the worst part of it all.
Thats very sweet of the other guy for helping :)
Super high shorts. Should probably fix the punctuation on that 😂
Ouch that velcro rip feeling :(
That velcro comment is so true tore the rotatercuff twice, labrum once, and biceps tendon. Each time it felt like the stickest velcro just got pulled apart inside of my shoulder. No popping noise at all. Sounded closer to velcro or paper ripping.
Translation: I walked into the gym and there was a guy already there that looked up. I then felt insecure and wanted to show off. Forgot I'm not 18 - 25 years old and need to warm up first.
I can completely understand. Being past your prime from your early 30's and you are trying to keep up and do as well and better than when you were in your prime. I am always nursing injuries from trying to do what I was able to do in my teens.
What he speaks on the tendons not being what they were when we were younger..Its very real..
Having experienced a peck tear myself, I can safely agree Cody's assessment that it feels a lot like Velcro tearing. I initially described it as denim being torn apart. And yeah, it's incredibly frightening to have that happen while the wait is over you and realize that it's simply going to fall towards you. Luckily it sounds like in his case he had enough strength left during the tearing that it descended slowly. I was also lucky in that mine was on the way up and only had a few inches of fall to my chest. I'm glad you recovered! Hectors are referred to by a lot of sports med guys as being the dumbest tears, born from lack of stretching, and showing off in a lift that we really shouldn't be showing off in.
Because he partially tore it. And then on the brawl with Seth, it completely tore off.
Bro, I had no idea this man is 38…I thought he was way younger
I was working out once and heard 2 guys talking and one said "how do I put on some good size?" Other guy said "Just keep grinding, like this guy" and pointed at me. I got so happy I put more weight on and tore my rotator cuff.
Ever since I saw that dude tear his pec on incline I’m good on trying to compete or ego lift with my friends
Yeah I tore my ACL senior year of high school trying to compete with football players. I learned the hard way. Never again will I make that mistake.
When Cody Rhodes feeling dashing again.... 💀
The way he said, "super high..." I was like hell yeah Cody!
Ok. The description of how it feels like... Velcro ripping away!? Damn that made me wince
I don’t think I’m the only one who thought he was saying he was doped out of his mind when he had a massive break between “super high” … “shorts”
I remember when Cody told a story about how Randy once pulled an urinal off of a wall. After hearing that, I always picture them as polar opposites. But then after I heard this, I can see how they have that similar goof energy between them. 😂
The more I hear from the Cody the more I like him, seems a real down to Earth good guy
Wrestlers are insanely strong
That’s how it felt when I tore my Achilles’ tendon-both times.
It feels weird before it actually starts to hurt.
Love Cody's honesty. If this was the 80's this story would've been over exaggerated. Late night hitting towns, pulling a car off a local girl. Instead he comes across straight, and in 2024, coming across straight is unheard of, and appreciated.
When he said the tear felt like Velcro 😬😖 I can't imagine how that feels! Ouch!
When he said super high i was like my man
That boy got the stone cold hair line😂
Love you baby ❤ Cody Rhodes
I tore my hamstring when I did track in highschool. You can literally feel the muscle fibers snapping like rubber bands. Thankfully it was partial tear in between grades 2 and 3, meaning the muscle didnt tear off the bone but a lot of the fibers tore in the middle. It definitely hurt but it wasn't agonizing. It felt like a really horrible muscle cramp. Cody's tear was a lot worse than mine though. I can't imagine how bad that hurt.
I've spotted a guy when he tore his peck. It SOUINDED like velcro. Really good velcro.
The moment he said it felt like Velcro…I had my own PTSD moment of when I tore my peck. I still have never recovered from the 4 surgeries but i the utmost respect for those that do
I am so glad Cody is back in the wwe.
wouldve been hilarous if the dud that was staring at him wass jus blind 😂😭
I’d want to see him in cesaro high shorts I can’t lie lmao
When he said it felt like velcro i felt a weid thing in my chest. Fuck Cody. You a different breed
My shoulder felt like popcorn popping as it tore. I know that doesnt make sense but that how it felt. Velcro could be another accurate analogy for it.
My dad tore something in his arm when I was a kid and it sounded like he tore his clothes which I guess is in line with what happened to Cody.
Dude probably was a Cody Rhodes fan and was suprised to see him
I'm at Cody Rhodes the years ago at a drive-thru in McDonald's he was behind me and my family with John Cena and the passenger seat and Ted to be yassi in the backseat they ordered some Quarter Pounders a salad cheeseburgers and some nuggets. This was the Legacy version of Cody Rhodes and they had just performed at the Huntington Center in Toledo. It was from that moment that I became play deeper fan of professional wrestling and have spent every day since then trying to pursue that goal just so I can look Cody in the face and tell him exactly how it made me feel. Because I knocked on the window as a kid wanting an autograph or a picture with him, Ted or John and I got ignored. As a kid I was upset but looking back I completely understood😂
He said super high and my eyes got wide 😂 unfortunately was referring to shorts
i remember listening to this full interview the other day, and being a little disappointed when he clarified that it was his shorts that were "super high"... hahha
How long does it take to recover from that type of injury? I torn an abdominal muscle in a panic after lifting a truck bed topper that had pinned my hands to the ground. How he described the Pec injury is exactly what I felt in my abdomen. Only after the adrenaline worn off about 20 mins later, the pain set in. That injury lingered for about a year before I was completely healed. Laughing, was excruciating to the point where I had to change the way I laugh to the pain. I now have two very distinctly different laughs.
Uses to bench 95kg in my 20's. Mid to late 30's now, and I wont even go near. Im happy with low weights and high reps just so I can save my joints and my muscles.
Im a year younger so i guess im getting older as well Cody 😢
I wanna see him in those shorts now 😂😂
bro said cesaro shorts 😂😂😂😂😂
When he said it felt like Velcro 😫 that hurt me jeez
When he says it felt like Velcro all I can think of is Garry Owens when he thought he tore his girlfriend's scalp off lmao. Thhhhhick
Mine kinda felt like denim tearing. Sounded like it too. Warming up for floor presses too.
The othere dude in gym was probably built larry the lobster but had the the voice of elmo 😂😂
My man didn’t even warm up enough Lmao 🤣
Stretching hard before a big lift actually could be why this tear happened. You need to do a slight active warmup, then stretch after the lift.
Cody looks/sounds like Sean Astin
I learned this lesson the hard way like Cody. Tore my bicep one arm curling my daughter. I had the mindset she would never be too heavy, boy was I wrong.
bro velcro... jesus christ that sounds terrifying
Velcro is way more descriptive that youd think
Moral of the story. Ego lifting creates legendary matches that everyone will remember. Got it
Cody came to my store the Fitness Depot in Marietta and bought an elliptical and a few other pieces a few years back. Super nice guy.
Cody is very honest, and humble, his story i feel is to win honor his father but nomatter what you cody got thier, you cody won, not legacy, being related to someone in the same job. He wants that belt, to show people that he did, not his last name, cody and cody alone. The story about his peck is true, he described the same thing while lifting with shamus.
But he isnt honest about why he left aew. Cody in real life doesnt care about any belt in wwe that was just a storyline.
He hit the bar with cross Rhodes
“Super high-“ 😧 “-knee shorts” 😄
Damn, cody is such a gorgeous man❤
"It was just stupidity"
Lmao, this is why I love Cody, he could have easily bullshitted that story, but told it like it was.
When he said velcro i threw up in my mouth a little.
Fuck i hate getting old
It felt like velcro... Oh god. That is so descriptive and horrifying
at least he learned his lesson. I haven't lifted in years n I'm a Lil dude but I know not to ego lift. If I started lifting again ppl would think I'm a bitch bc of how Lil I am n I know I can't lift much anymore n I won't put more on just to make them think I'm not one lol
Last time I heard him tell this story it was 275 lol
Velcro...thats how my bicep felt. Yup.
That match made Cody look like Stone Cold when he fought Bret Hart. Stone Cold was bleeding like a stuck pig and refused to tap out to the Sharpshooter, and ended up passing out. Made him look like a bad ass.
"Tell me you're getting old without telling me..."
Cody: Super high...
Me: yeah
Cody: high shorts
Me: oh
I’m just curious what Cesaro high shorts are
Something a lot of older guys forget about. Muscles can continue to grow late in life, connective tissue will not. Just because you look like you're 20 doesn't mean your body's feels like it.
Prime example of Its not what happens to you that matters, It's how you react
for those with poor eyesight like me, we’re just tryna see lmao. it might come off as staring or mean mugging but we just need a little more time to figure out our surroundings.
I would do the same as the guy did for Cody but I’d at least say hey did you want a spotter? I would have helped him first so if he did feel something go at least I’d be there to help him and tbh I’m glad he’s doing better.
he was prolly mean muggin so he wouldn’t freak out LMAOOO
I thought he was about to say he walked into the gym high 😂
Learned a hard lesson
“Then I talked to him and told him my dad was the American dream Dusty Rhodes and I cried “
As much as I’m tired of Cody’s push and don’t think he’s incredible in the ring like everyone else I do have to admit that he’s a great guy irl from what I’ve seen of him outside the ring
