    By far one of the most underrated finishes ever

    • @pacthesir

      really because of the flip at the end and people mostly see this race to watch the flip and people forgot about the win

    This is the Dale Jr we all know! The dominating guy he can be! This guy was back in this form last year to win 4 races at hendrick in that 88 car. Now in 2015 with a new 5 time cup champ lead engineer for that 48 team in the past and a 1 time nationwide champ crew chief last year and will be the championship crew chief for Dale Jr this year. I can feel it. I think he will break his win record of 6 in a year of 2004 to 10 or more wins in 2015. Go Jr!

    This Happens When I Was 11 Years Old In The 6th Grade When This Is One Of The Most Incredible Finish With Elliott Sadler Flipping So Softly & Then There Were Would've Been 20 Cars In An Accident On The Rear Back Stretch Just Like In The Fall Of 2001 Were Bobby Labonte Flipped It Was A 2 Car Wreck Coming Out Of Turn 2 Like That Was A Big Difference Compare To The 2001 Fall Race Where Bobby Labonte Started A Flip.

    That was about as strong of a march to the front as Dale Sr in 2000 at Talladega. Once it started there was no stopping it.

    this is up there with jrs 2001 pepsi 400. these were definitely the good days. also kudos to nascar for NOT throwing the caution on the final lap and letting them race. this ranks in the top3 best races ive ever watched

  • @jasonjackson5493
    @jasonjackson5493 Год назад

    Damn I just watched the whole race and what a show that was!! Earnharrrrdt baby!!! Damn these cars were perfect...big horsepower, bouncing around not stuck on the ground causes for the cars to move around to wear the driver had to get up on the wheel and that they did on this day

  • @nascarfanatic2425
    @nascarfanatic2425 11 лет назад +3

    Just the way things work. Jeff did win that spring race, btw. He was a nose ahead of Jr. when the caution flew. And it was more so the fact this was NBC- national television- he dropped the s-bomb on. Can't use that word on National TV. That was just the start of bad luck 'til the end of the year. Thus, ending the talented Jr. era.

      Bobby Smith Is not also ironic that like his dad he had a blue car following and helping him? Kenny Wallace in Sr's case and Ricky Rudd here.

    Yup, Carl edwards is the chump that cost him at atlanta in the 2004 chase. He was charging to the front and passed Edwards for 3rd and was catching Mark Martin to pass him but carl spun him into the inside wall. He had the points lead before the spin. He went from a guarantee win or top 3 finish to a 33rd place finish. Then a week later he finished 33rd at Martinsville with trouble to. He had 2 straight weeks of chase trouble that cost him that 04 championship. Went from leading points to 5th.

    • @mattkowal90
      @mattkowal90 2 года назад

      That was actually his second straight 33rd, he had finished 33rd the week before at Martinsville. Next race he gets maximum points by winning Phoenix. Unfortunately, a battery issue at Darlington (11th), and the fact Homestead was always a thorn in his side didn't help either.

    This should have been the race that won him the title, but the TV guys and nascar had to get offended by a damn word guys have said so many times before and since.

    @booyah8848 How do you figure? It was only a 25 point penalty...

  • @WhoopityDoo
    @WhoopityDoo 12 лет назад +1

    @booyah8848 No, wrecking at Atlanta with less than 15 laps to go is what cost him the championship.

  • @ChurroYaqui
    @ChurroYaqui 10 лет назад

    If NASCAR let the guys race back to the finish line in the CWRVS 500 at Talladega, Dale Jr. would've won the race for sure.

    @booyah8848 no...janet jackson caused Jr. the championship that year....just think about it lol

  • @BLUExEYEDxSLICKT
    @BLUExEYEDxSLICKT 11 лет назад +3

    Oh and at this race the stupid ass nascar docking Jr 25 damn points just for expressing his personality in a happy manor and saying shit and damn in victory lane and went from leading the points there to handing it back to Kurt Busch cause they docked Jr points just for minor cussing. I swear all forces were working against Jr in 04 towards that championship. Hell Jr had the first dega win sealed and should've won it and had 7 wins in 04 but Nascar ran 10 laps out under caution gave win to Jeff.

    This is the Dale Jr I know. The hard driving will drive through the pack like Sr old Jr. If he drives like this this year 2013 then the field is in trouble. Go JR!
