Eye tracking and consequently foveated rendering is the only thing they shouldn't have removed. It's just an overpriced wired VR headset now.

Apparently that ran on the SOC and had a pretty high license fee. There wouldn't have been much point to doing a version with it as it would have barely moved the price and weight.
