I won't say this with disrespect, as I'd never recommend overriding your experience and confidence but, your machine had so much more capability than you trusted it with; that bank you were trying to off-idle powering up...just a little juice before heading up and stay committed to the throttle and it would have very easily, even safely, gone up that. Also, as someone else mentioned, the number one eater of belts is folks who refuse to use low in the slow technical stuff. All that said, every day is a learning experience, and I don't care how much experience you have, you can always learn more with these machines.

    • @attechoutdoors5893

I understand what you were saying. We had beaver cuts at top of bank I had to remove them... we did go back in latter video and made the climb with no problem. I'd bet the belt issues were on a polaris or can am. Yamaha has the best belt system with a ten year warranty. The others give you a tool to change your belt on trail and they're $200.

The Yamaha has 2 clutches; it can handle whatever you give it. Where other brands require you to shift it to low, the Yamaha only says its easier. The clutch is as reliable as the Yamaha name.

Nice to see someone actually take the time to break a new machine in. It will surly save you money later down the road, and extend that motors life. And why not break it right? Especially with all the money it costs to buy these machines today! My husband is a mechanic 40+ years, and he ALWAYS breaks a new motor in before he runs it hard. Must be very nice to have your own trails! Good for you Guy's! Here in NJ, unlike many years ago when I rode dirt bikes everywhere...Now It's a crime to try and ride off road machines most anywhere! And they wonder why the kids get into so much trouble all the time? They don't let them do anything fun!

How deep of water can it operate in? We occasionally have to go through 2 & 1/2 feet of water on our rides. I noticed they say the CVT exhaust is used to cool the exhaust and spark plug coils, so I am not sure if snorkeling would cause a problem with heat build up in those areas.

hi, great video! Just wondering how you like the Rmax so far? Im looking for a sxs that i can use moose hunting in newfoundland canada. The terrain is hilly with rocks, bog, and tight timber. No sand lol. I want a UTV thats comfortable, able to get in awkward terrain, is not too loud and is easy to operate in slow crawling conditions. Do you think this would be a good choice? I am also considering the polaris xp 1000 ranger and the wolverine X2 and the honda pioneer 1000. Your thoughts are apprciated. Thanks!
