It's staggering how influential Bo Diddley was on post-1950 popular music, but so rarely credited as a pioneer of rock n roll. One could even think of Buddy Holly's vocal style as being based on the Bo Diddley guitar rhythm.

Simon - this is the best video on the best the only addition is that I wish you spent a bit more time on the final down up - which you only once in passing and does not seem to be in the hand clap section.
At 1:44? Good point. It's a "+ a" after the 4th beat. If you always go down on the 1s and and +s and up on the 'Es' and 'As' it will come naturally. So if you hit every 16th it would look like this...hope that helps. 1e+a2e+a3e+a4e+a ↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑
