Hi Marco, thanks for the video. Wondering what is the absolute simplest way to wire these valves to one toggle switch. Basically, how do you reverse position on the valves? Cheers buddy
So I have not messed with the wiring at all, so all I have to do is splice and split the wires for both the FV1 valves and run the fuel lines correctly will it work? Also will it work with the same tank selector switch inside the cab??
Same here, got a diesel & having issues as well. My plan is having the rear tank feed the front tank. Or have the positive line feed the return on the front tank with a 2nd fuel pump. If it doesn’t work I too have the manual valve I can throw in & have the lines go into a box in the bed & every time I need to switch tanks I reach back there & turn both valves. What I’m thinking abt doing is having the positive line pull fuel from the back tank & the return is the front tank, then watch for the gauge to stop, then switch to the front. There’s multiple ways of doing this. I’m stuck on the rear tank rn & I only get 10 gallons.
Hey Marco. So with the original 1terminal 6 port my left tank was not working and only my right. Then I set it up like this and now my right tank is not working and my left one is🤦🏾♂️ any idea why? When left tank is selected the valves have power. When right is selected there is no power which I thought was correct
Where do you buy those at? Autozone? I tried to google that unit code you say but google brings up all sorts of random parts with that number like computer chips, pumps, motors.
to stop the problem happening install a good fuel and water separator for each tank before the valve them cheap metal filters dont filter good enough and the 2nd problem is water we had 8 work truck 2 a yr seem to always have problems and after pissing with them for yrs we put water and fuel filter 4 to 6 micron wix filters and after my 13 or so more yrs there only one selectors froze up and one the motor on it burned up and they can be taken apart and cleaned easily take it apart and work the plungers up and dow to free them and there good as new. hope that helps someone to save some money
what would help is to know what brand, model and year of the truck you did this on and maybe even what engine, gas, or diesel. the only thing you can tell from your video is that it's a dually of some kind so it's 3/4 ton or bigger.....
It doesn't matter it will work on gas or diesel whatever your you're working on this was a motorhome these parts don't know what they are just like all motors or just air pumps
Marco, watta bout the fuel gauge in the dash?. Does it still reads seperatly how much fuel each tank has correspinding to the actual tank you are using at that momment????..
I'm curious how these valves have held up. I have thought about using them on 2 tank veggie oil conversions, but these aren't rated to be mounted before the pump. Or maybe it was after the pump 🤷🏻♂️ anyway, I hope it works for you.
Marco, do those new FSV1 selector valves still work? ill be picking one up. how did you wire up your switch to the selector? im having trouble trying to figure out how those FSV1 selectors operate, does the toggle switch reverse polarity of selector to open each port? is one port always open? or is it a selective valve? please respond soon marco, greatly would appreciate. -James
@@marcocasillas5023 i dont have one, the truck didnt come with this option 1973 f250. im trying to figure out how to hook up a toggle switch to the selector valve
@@marcocasillas5023 okay getting closer, thanks marco. should the wires on the toggle switch prongs be crossed like an "X" to get reverse function of the selector? not sure how to make this switch work.
You can but to make it simple just run a regular cargo when power coming in and power going out would be the easiest way 16199717833 my number if you need to call
hey, I am about to attempt this with a 1994 f250. I assume they're going to know when I say I need a toggle switch. The biggest issue I'm going to have is the wiring part.I would like to be able to try to contact you when I get to that to save me a headache
@@marcocasillas5023 and so you basically just got rid of the original tank one auxiliary tank switch and came in with a standard on off switch for the fuel tank selector switch?
I understand what you're saying and I agree. But there's some people like myself bet are confident enough to reroute all of those fuel lines do they make sense. Either you're smarter than you think or I'm dumber than I think. You did a nice job
1 selector is to feed the motor it has main tank and auxiliary tank the other selector is the return it has mean and auxiliary just make sure your main fuel line and return line are going to the same tank I hope this helps let me know if it didn't I'll make another video if it didn't help
Is this setup still working? The 6 port Pollak valve "seems" like a good solution, but they are all plastic, made in China parts now. Not that they were all that reliable way back when they were invented anyway...
Because even if it is a lifetime replacement when you're going camping in your motorhome truck or what have and you can't switch over to your other tank you end up stuck on the side of the road I can post a picture of me being told because the other ones don't last and don't work
Marco i have an rv with that problem i connected one tank can u help out to diagram tp use both tanks please write me at carlosarce4@aol.com thanks in advance
Genius… I’ve been scratching my head trying to find a better more reliable solution for my RV. Thanks for taking the time to post:
I have been trying for years to sort out that problem. I have been finding used single pin valves but they have gotten hard to find. Great idea!!
Can you show how you wired those two new pumps to the truck please?
Slick solution man.
Hi Marco, thanks for the video. Wondering what is the absolute simplest way to wire these valves to one toggle switch. Basically, how do you reverse position on the valves? Cheers buddy
That's the only way I got it to work maybe somebody else knows a better way how to wire it

Yes that should work fine

Also now my vapor lines are filling with raw gas. Same as oem routing from each tank to a single line with a T connector to the canister.
Check your electrical connection and your fuel line see if when you switched power going to the opposite terminal

I tried to google that unit code you say but google brings up all sorts of random parts with that number like computer chips, pumps, motors.
You could order it through AutoZone or try eBay or Amazon Napa would have it also
I understand that only diesels had the fuel selector switch, I ask because I have a 5.8 gas motor and having issues with my rear tank

Use the power line to your old one

Get power from your battery run it to a toggle switch put a fuse on it run it to the selector switch

@@nadasurf9009 yes
Did you have a problem of one tank over filling another tank? Without the switch?
.no check the flow direction sounds like you have one line going back to the tank
where did you buy the valves ??
eBay online I'm sure Amazon has them too RockAuto carquest Napa kragen and AutoZone would have it also I went with that valve because it's easy to get
My 82’ Chevy k10 doesn’t have a fuel selector valve and not sure how to wire the button switch either
Buy a relay kit for a electric fuel pump use that for your selector valve switch kit one that includes the toggle switch
This will not give you fuel level stop either do aftermarket fuel gauges
You certainly helped me
Thank you
Does this work if they’re one pump in each tank?
Yes

I think you could skip the return line switch by just using fittings for the return line I don't think it needs to be switched.
If you only had one tank but this way you can use two tanks
How much do they cost we're all three parts
I don't remember you can Google the prices
Ok thanks
How do you select which tank to use if both pump wires are connected together?
1 selector is to feed the motor it has main tank and auxiliary tank the other selector is the return it has mean and auxiliary just make sure your main fuel line and return line are going to the same tank I hope this helps let me know if it didn't I'll make another video if it didn't help
@@marcocasillas5023 so your stock fuel control valve switch still controls each one?
Yes your stock switch on the dash will control
@@marcocasillas5023 ok got it! Thanks Marco!
I got a few more questions Marco. What's your email?
Yeah I can't put something like that on my off-road rig though too much stuff to get caught
just use a genuine pollak 6 way selector valve they last for 20 years
These tanks when not working properly are such a pita I was planning on just ordering a 32gallon fuel cell.
That would work if you have enough room for it I would do that
Is this setup still working? The 6 port Pollak valve "seems" like a good solution, but they are all plastic, made in China parts now. Not that they were all that reliable way back when they were invented anyway...
The 6-port are not reliable
With rockauto having a lifetime replacement for under $80, granted it is a Dorman. Why did you go this way?
