This is why I love metal detecting. The absolute joy you feel pulling history out of the ground. The thought of who dropped it and what their lives were like.
All my years detecting and thousands of finds have also been a great relaxation. Couldn't do with the noise from these three.

But there is the ancient copper culture from the upper mid-west, that is 4000 to 5000 years old. Copper pieces were traded up and down the Mississippi river system and across the Great Lakes.
Hard to comprehend coins that old just laying out in a field, so amazing. Gotta love the Poms and Aussies taking the piss out of each other in fun 😆

you should get a finds box or container for special fragile finds. a small box with a little foam pice or paper towell amything to keep it safe. not in the pouch where it can fall out or break in half. i know i sound bossy i dont mean to im thinking of your special finds what if you sid find gold coins you dont want to drop it while your digging. i love detecting videos i hope you do more😜

You were right you did find some great finds this was a great video. Just to let you know probably 10 years ago we found a piece of coral reef in our back field and the river is like 5 miles away. God is great god bless you on your adventures.

I remember at a rally I found my first hammered Henry VIII silver penny, then, a few minutes later, an Elizabeth 1 silver penny; they were both typically found right at the end of the day; I never got the chance to go back to that site

I bought a metal detector to find artifacts, ended up only finding modern jewelry. I actually made a living for 2 years off of beach detecting. Life wasn’t easy, but I somehow scraped up enough each month for me a wife and a child.
I’m back to work thank god. Still beach detect and now I can keep what I find.
Wish I could metal detect instead of working, love metal detecting.
