recent works are great, but Taking Over and Feel The Fire are among my favourite albums of all time. Blitz's voice, vibe and attitute is the essential part of Overkill's sound
How does Bobby Blitz consistently manage to be a thrash fucking badass and also be one of the nicest, funniest and truly humble artists among so many thrash metal titans is something to take note of. Bobby Blitz exudes so much confidence but deep down I'm sure he's a softy and an overall great person. Had the opportunity to see Overkill at a small club in London called The 100 Club in 2012, Overkill completely smashed it and stole the show 🤘🏼🇧🇩
Met bobby at BB kings in NYC years ago at the bat after the show such an amazing guy he let us hang out with him got me and my friend a beer such a great dude
I had a major surgery in 2016 and I'm alive because of it! But just before I thought to run away! Thankfully it didn't! Bobby, the whole album is awesome! When will you come to Poland?🤘
BOBBY F**KING "BLITZ" ELLSWORTH!! Overkill is one of my favorite bands and the reason I play bass. D. D. Verni is a KING! Thanks for this fine interview. 🤘🤘
Bobby Blitz made me feel my age when he mentioned “Columbia House” & getting cd’s for a penny etc lol. But in saying that I wouldn’t change a thing🤘 I’m from the tape cassette era & the tape trading scene & recording songs from the radio on late Friday & Saturday nights when there would be a college radio station(s) that would have an hour or two of hard metal bands playing. Overkill is one of my favourite bands growing up & one of the best thrash bands for sure. I’m Canadian so i grew up listening to Sacrifice - Annihilator - RaZoR - Voivod - Exciter - Anvil - Quo Vadis as well when it came to Canadian metal🤘 With Overkill’s latest album being their 20th release made me think of Canadian thrash band “ANVIL” & how many albums they have released & they released 19 albums thus far & are currently working on album #20 so much respect to “Lips” & Robb Reiner for never giving up! I’m not sure if Overkill & Anvil have ever toured together but i’d love personally to witness that in today’s day & age that’s sure, maybe do a co-headlining bill 🤔
I saw them live about 4 or 5 times. They get better with age. On the new album my least favorite track is The Surgeon. It just doesnt grab me. Instead i go for Bag Of Bones, Fever, Scorched and Won't Be Coming Back. Those tracks stand out the most to me.
I don't know how good Blitz is on bass, but hiring DD Verni was definitely an S-tier move. You know another S-tier move? Hiring Blitz as singer. So underrated, but not by me.
I remember taking a chance and buying an over kill cd in my teens because of how the cover looked. Hated it and was pissed I wasted my weeks allowance on that!
Their new album: close-mic’ed, sampled, triggered, automated, overprocessed, ProTwelled, loudness-maximised and hyper-compressed, like every other metal album made in the last 25 years or so. Of course with every band member phoning in their parts from their bedroom or basement in different parts of the country. Not that pimple-faced, hearing-damaged, drunk, stoned metal heads would notice or care.
You forgot auto-tune… oh wait, you didn’t cause you can’t say that about Bobby. Go back to your country pop or whatever you’re into and leave us Overkill fans alone.
His voice has changed so little over the course of 30+ years it's mindblowing. He was born to sing.
It might even be better NOW 🫢
Really is!
A real metal legend
The Blitz! One of the most fun small, club sized gigs was Overkill. Good times! Thanks, Bobby!
Gotta love Bobby. He always seems so upbeat and non-arrogant. It was interesting hearing about his musical influences.
Scorched is a badass album! glad they stay with the sound they always had 🤘😈🤙
Bobby Blitz is one of the top 5 all time greatest metal vocalists. His voice, and on stage performance is iconic.
The new album is really good they did a good fucking job
So good. Always are!

he sounds the same now as he did when I first heard them. I’m glad they are going to be doing a show at blue ridge festival
Overkill formed in my hometown
Black and Green 🤘 in union we stand
A boy named Sue was the first country song I actually got in😢 when I was young. Thanks, pops.
Now that's how you do an interview! 🤘
I’ve never got into over kill. The dude seem like a cool person to do an interview with tough for sure. I’ll have check the band out one of these days
Check them out...one of the greatest bands of all time.

I LOVE Overkill!!!
I remember the Columbia House Records
I got a lot of tunes from Columbia House Records...I kind of wish they were still around.
Overkill live is always awesome because this guy has so much charisma! I love this MF & I love Overkill!!! 🤘
Overkill rule!
I discovered so many bands using Columbia house, I the 90s-00s
The best!!!!!
The Wolverine of metal!!!
Hello from the gutter
Love it!
That was what got me in to Overkill all those decades ago...been hooked ever since.
@@eyellgeteven9928 Same here.
I was a kid when I bought that album.

Love Bobby.
Love the new record. It has alot of diversity. They mix up the slow heavy stuff with the thrashy stuff.
Hell yeah 💯

Shit, I always curious why he does that picking motion while performing. Now I know why. I hope he still plays it.
🤘🤘🤘🤘
He is a fuckin' storyteller
My man's laugh is funny asf
bobby is fucking killer
Never heard of them ! Lol

You sound lovely
You must be fun a parties...
You forgot auto-tune… oh wait, you didn’t cause you can’t say that about Bobby.

Generalizing an entire genre's fans are we? You should really learn the golden rule: nothing nice to say? Then shut up.
If there is sometime a bio pic about Overkill... i want Leonardo DiCaprio playing Bobby Blitz. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
