Great video. I've been shooting an old Sabatti in 308 with standard rifling for quite a while. These are excellent value rifles, glad to see you liked this. Shooting that distance without a spotter is pretty amazing.
I love how the cows wander on into the frame at 21:15 ;) I'm thinking about one of these rifles, but I'm a bit wary of buying another Italian rifle. I had a Chiappa lever action before, which I offloaded as it used to jam with a round just outside the camber which you could only clear by taking the tubular magazine apart (with said live round just outside the chamber). I had a look at the Sabatti website and even when you click on the English website, you get the odd bit of Italian text in there. Plus dead links. It looks a bit slap dash.
Great review again Assie. Your reviews cover everything we need about the rifle with, some really practical shooting to roll things up. I thought you getting the camera set up with the mirage fairly distinctive was a nice touch. I know the camera can't really do justice but, when you were shooting at 600 yrds, you were off just left of centre. Trying to read the mirage, it looked as though you had just a tad of breeze right to left which, may have been the culprit. I wonder, did you have to allow for that tad of wind? Anyhow, excellent review. Please keep it up, great stuff. Regards.............Rotus
Another top review mate. The thing with the MDT magazine, it will take 10 rounds, but more often than not, it will jam and not feed with 8 or more rounds ( will only work with 7 in mine) I think MDT have changed the capacity ( by name, not physical size) from 10 to 8 rounds.
Good video Ozzie .but it must be hard to have a gun shop in Australia with all the restrictions on guns and licenses.they say the got 80 million wild pigs in Australia now in a few years it will be 100 million with all the restrictions in this country
It is a right PITA that folding stocks are illegal in NSW. Really gives me the sh*ts, dammit. Very nice rifle shooting a superb calibre. Imagine how it would shoot with a custom load...... GEEZ!! I gotta get me a 6.5CM, no doubts about that, lol. Thanks for posting young fella, a pleasure to watch. :)
Ya some of these nonsensical gun laws in places definetly are silly. What makes a folding stock bolt action more dangerous than a non folding stock rifle. I hear your pain.lol We got some pretty silly laws in Canada too. And the Liberals might be making that worse. They better not though. They seem to forget that pissing off 5 million gun owners will hurt them big time at the polls in 2019. Especially with the massive growth we are seeing in shooting sports and hunting. And a lot of Liberals are shooters too.
Sabatti can sell you the gun with a non folding stock. Mr Emanuele Sabatti said it while interviewed on an exposition in Italy . Try to ask your local shop. Greetings from Italy
Ciao Marco!! Funny that you mention out local gun shop, lmao! I work there (part-time) :) Well LGS + Locksmith + outdoor store + engraving. I'm his Bow Mechanic, lmao! www.elksenterprises.com.au/
Yes it's funny indeed!!!! Anyway str stock is made by another italian company called victrix. You can ask for a non folding stock, I'm sure about that. Try to ask sabatti directly; maybe they can help you if yo are really interested on the gun :)
These come with a non folding stock for us prisoners in western Australia, the rifle feels solid and I'm 6"3 and it feels very comfortable to hold ( like a curvy woman) I personally like it , I haven't shot it but it's ticking boxes , I just hope they get the mag fixed before I get one 🤞 if anyone can give me price that would be great , so far it's $3240
I know, right? I have just put some money down on a Sabatti Saphire in .308. You wouldn't believe how well it shoulders. The iron sights just automatically line up like you're playing Call of Duty or something. It's crazy. Still, despite all of my impulsiveness I would really like to have an unbiased opinion on the rifle before I make anything official.
I have the same rifle in .308. Did you break your barrel in or not? I see Sabatti recommend breaking in the barrel. Great shooting. Greetings from South Africa.
Just shoot as normal. Some only offer the break-in information because superstitious owners insist on it. Frank at Bartlein barrels will tell you it's a waste of ammunition. More barrels ruined by cleaning than shooting 😉
nice guy. it would have been good if he gave his zero the come ups for the different ranges or if he had reticle that could get to that yardage. a small tip if you have trouble loading a full mag open the bolt first. the shells are hitting the closed bolt. not enough room
Hi mate I just subscribed to your channel and wish I had found it sooner. Excellent video I really appreciate your honesty. Do you still have this rifle or do you prefer a different precision rifle these days. 👌😊🇦🇺
I sell these for $2,250 One of the Best LR rifles on the market regardless of the price. BTW, the Safety "bump," I was told, is intentional as to avoid "accidental" discharges by Dummies.
Awesome review - certainly looks like you had some fun! As a NSW shooter, have a sad face that the rifle has a folding stock ☹️ Any idea whether a fixed stock version will be available at some stage?
Hi there, i'm planing to buy my first rifle for competition and currently looking at Bergara HMR, Tikka3X and Sabatti, all in 6.5 creedmoor. Which would you advise from those 3?
@@mariuszuk79 😂 I went for lockdown with corona... Unfortunately I cannot even get the paper work done right now. When thing will get to normal i will most likely go with bergara and close second tikka.
@@allidsarebusy COVID is just a gift that keeps on giving 🤣 Same here ; change of career, clubs closed, no papers . Can only drool over youTube videos 😅😂🤣
Thanks for the review. After watching your video, I ordered one. Been reading alot on the Norma 130gr Golden Target being very accurate in this rifle. Have you tried it by any chance? I ended up ordering 10 boxes to try out. I figure the Norma load I get to reload will cost about the same as just ordering Norma brass by itself. Should be able to reload for about $.50 per round.

The cows are definitely not gun shy!!! That's how my dogs are with guns, the cows around us are like that too. Good review and excellent shooting!!!
Magazine was made by MDT. First Gen. Been fixed since.
once again another top quality video. keep it up mate, really enjoying them.
Thanks Ben, I appreciate the support!

Great review!! Thank You
I have the tactical evo us version in 6.5 Creedmoor. O haven't got to shoot it yet, still shopping around for a good scope in the $1000 range
Awesome review mate!! Nice shooting
Thanks JR!
Thank you 😊
Thanks - good job.
And I’m going to se if my local can get me one of these rifles just brilliant keep up the reviews
Now i see why hitman love this rifle, its just HIT HIT HIT with it.
You can't go wrong with the Creedmoor.
The bulging is a fault with the MDT magazine, it is supposed to be fixed in the second generation version of that magazine.
Ok good to know they have identified it and come up with a solution...
Great review again Assie.

I had the same issue with my magazine for my 308 MDT say it's only a 8 shot
Hey! Great video... keep them coming.
Hey Mike, thank you - will do!
what do you prefer the tikka tac A1 or Sabatti STR in 6.5 ?
The competitor to the Tikka T3x Tac A1?
Yes

Could you do a video of the Sabatti ST 18 in .308 , also great video .

Great Video but you would have the Sabatti or the Tika to keep?
nice guy. it would have been good if he gave his zero the come ups for the different ranges or if he had reticle that could get to that yardage. a small tip if you have trouble loading a full mag open the bolt first. the shells are hitting the closed bolt. not enough room

Great video, have you tried the Sabatti ST18?
Could you do a Tikka T3x hunter in 30-06, also great video mate.
Maybe down the track...
Are you able to get the 6.5 creed moor on a A & B licence cos I was looking at the 308 win model atm
oh to have the money to buy one
Nice video! I really enjoyed it!
At my local sabatti dealer I noticed they all have a long action. Do you also have a long action?
I sell these for $2,250 One of the Best LR rifles on the market regardless of the price. BTW, the Safety "bump," I was told, is intentional as to avoid "accidental" discharges by Dummies.

No mention of that as yet mate...
What Cat do these fall into? B?
Hi OZZI. do you think Tika t3x A1 or this Sabatt ??
Do you have a ballistic table for the 6,5 out of it?
Are you going to do a review on the Howa APC someday soon? Would like to see how you rate it.
Not planned at this stage...
Yards? We arent in the 12th century anymore 😅
John McQuay from 8541 Tactical might get mad at your choice of music Ozzie haha
It's RUclips music so I'd be surprised if I'm the only person who has used it...
ozziereviews fair enough. I'm not familiar with what the standard RUclips music is these days
Hi there, i'm planing to buy my first rifle for competition and currently looking at Bergara HMR, Tikka3X and Sabatti, all in 6.5 creedmoor. Which would you advise from those 3?
Which I did you eventually go for? 😃

How much does it costs (early 2018)? It is a good option for hunting?
Sabatti STR in .308 or 6.5 CM? Which would you recommend? Or maybe Tikka T3 A1? Or something else?
Nice review & great shooting! So, in the end, in .308, the RPR, the TIkka T3x TAC A1 or a Sabatti STR?
Depends on your budget. I like all 3 and there's things from all three I'd like to combine into 1 gun to be honest
is this the gen2?
what chassis is this
It's a factory build from Sabatti called the STR
Thanks for the review. After watching your video, I ordered one. Been reading alot on the Norma 130gr Golden Target being very accurate in this rifle. Have you tried it by any chance? No I didn't and I hear that Norma is no longer making ammunition?
Prime Ammo is making a round with the Norma bullet and brass. Allegedly 1/2 moa at 1000 yds.
Mate where did you get the Federal Premium ammo? I'm struggling to find a decent range of ammo....
Anywhere that stocks NIOA products, you may have to order it in tho...
ozziereviews thanks mate. Yea I found Gunworld only has the Win match....Cleaver seems to only stock Horn.
Won't be legal in NSW, has too much black and rails....
🤣die kühe sind cool.....
