    I own an older version of this rifle, a Sabatti US Tactical with the Rover action in 6.5 Creedmoor. My first load development test, using Hornady 147gr ELD-Ms and Reloder 26, I shot a one-hole 5-shot group at 200yds. According to Quickload, pressure was around 48,000psi, and average velocity was 2870fps on my Labradar. I was sold. The rifle is not picky, and shoots 140gr SMKs, 144gr Lapuas, and 145gr Barnes well. The rifle has a long freebore, so it might shoot better with handloads. I paid a little over $1k new, and it came with an AICS-compatible magazine. I've seen a newer version, with the EVO action, selling for less than $900 new in the US, also taking AICS-compatible magazines.

    If they plan to offer a legit 1/4 MOA guarantee, they had better have a good return department. Most folks don’t have the skill or the conditions to be able to shoot 1/4” groups even if the rifle is capable of it.

      When I shoot to test MOA guarantee’s I usually have the front and rear of the rifle fully supported. I become more of a glorified trigger puller. Gun is completely rock steady when trying to shoot groups. But otherwise yes, the rifle can shoot better than I can.

      To offer that its most likely with their ammo in their facility. The guarantee is for the rifle not the shooter. That's how I'd do it at least but for a factory $2500 rifle to do that before break in would be very impressive

    I’m stationed in Germany and own a few of these. They are imported here under the name Mercury straight from Sabatti. I have shot alongside many others at the bench, in PRS and F-Class style matches. They are accurate yes, though .25 MOA I would not say that from my experience. Under MOA yes but not .25. I have shot a couple 3 shot groups under .25 but on average I would say my 6.5 creed is a .75 gun over 1500 rounds fired. My .308 closer to .6 MOA. I will say i have only shot two groups with the 6.5 over MOA over all those rounds but one was prob me and the other I think I hand some bad rounds as it was like 6” off to the right. That said they are accurate for sure. Actions are not as smooth as say a Bergara, a Tikka or my Custom actions, and I have had some feeding issues with both. Overall for an off the shelf rifle I,m pleased with my experience. One thing to consider is parts availability if needed. Getting ahold of the manufacturer is not a quick thing,

    -best combined average moa on 5 shot group.
    -best ten shot group with Whatever load was the most accurate in each rifle.

    Looks like a nice rifle but I'm always hesitant to accept performance from a hand picked gun from a manufacturer. If they can actually mass produce a quarter minute gun(even though I don't think 3 shot groups are a good representation of performance) that's a game changer.

    • @XRING
      @XRING  Год назад +2

      It wasn’t just one rifle. I shot about 10 different Sabatti rifles while I was here and they were all performers.
      Honestly, I really thought these were crazy expensive rifles and when I learned that they weren’t as expensive as I had assumed I had to do the review on them. Hopefully, they can maintain this level of accuracy when they hit the US. Granted, we only shot match Federal and match Lapua ammunition through them.

    • @MMBRM
      @MMBRM Год назад

      @@XRING Well, that's more encouraging for sure. Did you get the impression that these were just pulled off the assembly line or had they been previously tested to make sure they would perform. Even though they used match ammo it's still off the shelf which is impressive. I have yet to see a rifle that couldn't be improved with careful handloading so that will be interesting to see as well! Did you shoot any larger groups to check if they were consistent over larger strings? Thanks for the reply.

    • @XRING
      @XRING  Год назад +1

      Yes sir, I normally do 5 shot groups as a minimum for grouping. However. I was a guest in a foreign country shooting their ammunition which is EXTREMELY expensive and difficult to get over there. Like 2-3 US dollars a round. I already felt bad enough about how much I was shooting. Also, I cleaned the rifles and removed the copper fouling shortly before doing this video. So, I did have to shoot enough to establish a copper equilibrium again.
