Hey Ryan - Thanks for the video....just wondering what brand/style t shirt you are using in the video? looks like maybe a 50/50 blend? looking for shirts that are similar to the old school 80's screen stars style....thanks!
@Henry Bukowski Thank you so much for your reply, i appreciate it!! Funny, I saw your comment after I had just left Harbour Freight to look at heat guns lol. I also read the heat gun helps to make it more permanent and helps it survive the washing machine without fading. So much to know when screen printing...the different kinds of ink etc. I also just purchased speedball water-based ink two days ago too. Thanks again for taking the time to give me info :)
JD1723 that’s how I started a few years ago. Still a lot to learn but as far as ink goes. For water based, go with jacquard opaque white ink. It goes a lot farther than the speed ball as far as brightness and over all quality. It tends to try faster though so I recommend mixing a bit of water into it.
For water based ink, is it helpful to keep the ink pasted after the stroke is done when it time to flash? I am facing the problem of drying out the screen mesh quickly & it is hard to print once any area gets dry. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks for the video.
Hey there! If you keep your screen flooded when you are not actively printing, that can help your water based ink from drying out. If you're noticing that it's still drying out a lot, then try keeping a spray bottle nearby! Give your ink just a few misty spritzes to re-wet it. Just be careful to only use a very little bit so you don't change the consistency of your ink.
Hey Ryan the ink that I got I put 10 percent of the sofftee base and my ink doesn't look no where near your ink your ink seems like it has a flow my ink doesn't even drip even when I connect my ink mixer to the drill all it does is make the ink loose but it doesn't drip I'm also using a 160 screen for my print and I'm now having this trouble where when u print it looks solid white even when I flash n print the second coat but after like a hour I'll go take a look at the shirt n the ink is like almost the same color as the shirt it's like the shirt is bleeding .... I'm using xolb glacier white from dynamics screen printing and the shirts I am using are 50/50 but the only thing that has been different was that I am now using a 160 I never ran into this problem on 110 and the logo is is solid
How do I know if I'm "smashing" the ink vs. "sheering" the ink?

great video! i am just getting into screen printing. are there any inks that do not need to use heat to be cured?
JD1723 water based can be air dried but it can take a few hour to dry. You can also use a hand held heat gun to speed up the drying time

Hi Danny,
I am not familiar with this ink. Reach out to the manufacturer and they should be able to help you out.
Which type of color material is good for screen printing
Hey there,
It depends on what you are wanting to screen print. What type of print are you wanting to do?
