The Rick Astley Paradox Say you’re hanging out with Rick astley. You ask him for a copy of the movie Up. However, Rick cannot give you the movie because he’s never gonna give you Up. But by not giving you up he is letting you down. Therefore, the Rick astley paradox Edit: to clarify this was not mine I’ve heard this somewhere else
Venturing into the intriguing realm of paradoxes, where reality seems to play by its own rules. From the mind-bending Catch-22 to the enigmatic Lottery Paradox, these paradoxes challenge our understanding of logic and perception. It's a journey through twists of reasoning, where even the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
Diving into paradoxes is like chasing unicorns - a cosmic joke wrapped in riddles! Catch-22's irony, Lottery's ticket dilemma, and Sorites' disappearing heap make it a mind-bending journey. Ship of Theseus challenges identity, Zeno's race is an infinite loop, and unraveling paradoxes is akin to folding fitted sheets - elusive and perplexing! Join this quest through philosophical mazes where answers remain as enigmatic as the questions!
That's the one that made me double take and pause, too. It's most likely just engagement bait, i.e., a fairly obvious but deliberate mistake to get people to comment corrections, questions, or otherwise engage with the post.
@@jahnsen712 It's just a play on words. "Temperature is rising" means that the overall median temperature is higher than before. "Temperature is 90°" is the current one. So it implies "How can Temperature equal RISING but also equal 90°?". It uses the word "IS" to deduce an incorrect A=B and B=C, therefore A=C Hope it kinda made sense lol
in 7:16 The paradox of hedonism: If one intrinsically desires nothing other than one's own pleasure, then one will be prevented from obtaining pleasure. The worry the paradox generates for hedonistic theories is that they appear to be self-defeating. That is, if we pursue the goal of this theory, we are less likely to achieve it.
A paradox is a logically self-contradictory statement or a statement that runs contrary to one's expectation. It is a statement that, despite apparently valid reasoning from true premises, leads to a seemingly self-contradictory or a logically unacceptable conclusion.

This whole video goes too fast and doesn’t fully explain why some of these are paradoxes or what the paradox is.

I don't know who's copying who anymore, your video was posted 1 day before the famous one :0
A true paradox lol thanks for noticing
@@Hyperionwastaken did they plagiarize you, or was it just a coincidence? I'm noticing that a lot of similar-format videos are doing that lately.
Sorry, I didn't quite get the 90° one? Is it regarding using incorrect baselines?

what paradox is that
