I think it’s important to take into account that if Boise gets ranked into the top 12 before the playoffs, you have to consider that in heisman voting since Jeanty is the main reason Boise is in this position. Also, there is no pause when you ask the question if any other player can do what he’s doing, I’m sorry
For sure. And that’s an easy win against a Colorado team that will probably be 7-5 or 8-4. Hunter plays both sides of the ball and is amazing, but he plays 2 positions that are really difficult to take over the game from

I have what might’ve sounded the craziest of anything before the season: Michigan misses a bowl game. They play (in order of difficulty) Northwestern, Michigan State, Illinois, Indiana, Oregon, and Ohio State. They’ll beat Northwestern, but Michigan State treats the Michigan game as their Super Bowl and always plays tough, so that’s a toss up. Illinois looks dangerous this year, especially for Michigan. Michigan will likely lose to Indiana, Oregon, and Ohio State, going 6-6 at best and 4-8 at worst. And I’m a Michigan fan who thought 8-4 was their floor preseason!
Even Northwestern is questionable. The things that Michigan is doing wrong are among the worst in FBS. We have the 130th ranked offense. Unless Sherrone Moore works some magic over this bye week, I'm not even sure we beat Northwestern.
With the way Oregon has been playing this season, I think Michigan b eats them. Lanning cannot coach against good teams, he just yaps against Colorado.
Same here, Nathan, we all know about the offensive woes, but to me, the most disappointing aspect of this team has been the defense...they were supposed to be elite, even rated # 1 or 2 in the country...nope. Just not syre Moore was the right call for being coach...more of an emotional pic, imo...

Your show is great. Long before becoming a buckeye fan, I was simply a football fan. With the transfer portal and NIL I believe that "upsets" will be far more often than ever. Last weekend is just the beginning. I committed the unforgivable sin by predicting my buckeyes would loose to that team "up north" the last three seasons. For your second scenario of the bickeyes to play Penn as #1 and #2 in November will require my buckeyes to make a LOT more progress. I see a few significant weak spots. I would rank them 5 or 6 right now. Yet, I saw in the alabama georgia game the best team in America only to see their weaknesses exposed. I think my buckeyes are going to have to play Oregon like alabama did against Georgia or vandy did against alabama to beat the ducks, otherwise they will go down with their weaknesses exposed
Its crazy because I knew about the Boise State bye potential and then when he said Ohio State being #1 and Penn State being #2 I was like "no way!" lol I can imagine some thought the same about the Boise State thing and then after they listened realized Klatt was right. With how you see the top tier teams finishing at the G5 level, what would you say TXST’s ceiling is? How far can they go if they win out and finish 10-2. (Up 21-7 when they lost to ASU 31-28, and up 22-0 when they lost to SHSU 40-39)
Collective bargaining plus guaranteed NIL contracts plus revenue sharing contracts is how you fix it. It sounds convoluted, but the way you fix college football is you get everyone to write everything down and negotiate until both sides are happy enough to chive on. That’s the fix.
Joel. Will the Playoff Committee move teams around in their final rankings to get certain marquee matchups in the playoff or to avoid rematches. Can they move teams 2 slots for tv ratings possibilities????
Who has Colorado played? Outside of Nebraska they havent played an elite defense or offense.. boise st would win the big12 this season almost no doubt. I would love to see Jeanty against Oregon’s defense now! Oregon’s offense wasn’t looking good and constantly had Oregon’s D on the field and out of breath! Oregon’s D is STOUT, now that the offense is pulling their weight! He would still be amazing but it would look much different!
OSU will drop either the road game to Oregon or Penn State. The rematch between those is more likely than Indiana who will most likely drop a game plus the OSU game
I think only one upset would need to happen to have Ohio State / Penn State be 1&2 when they play. If Texas drops one of their games in the next few weekends, and OSU & PSU don't get upset - should happen.
I don't understand the Smith > Williams talk. Kevin what was one of the most physical imposing recievers that doesn't mean he's one of the best. Williams speed makes him better than Smith even though both are amazing.
Smith will be a much higher draft pick than Williams. Do you think Smith is slow because I watch him burning corners constantly. Their is a reason that Smith was the number one recruit in the country. It really is that simple.
Would love an undefeated Army vs Navy game probably not plausible. Also I hope to see Colorado in the playoffs just for entertainment purposes . & wish Boise State gets a seed where they can host a playoff game BLUEEE TURFFF
Wild but possible: Two G5 playoff teams. Boise State. Lone loss was week 2 at Oregon on a last second field goal. Also Jeanty wins the Heisman (as I suspect he will). Undefeated Army or Navy. In what world does an undefeated service academy get passed up for a two or three loss at large SEC team? Playoff picture: Big Ten: Probably OSU, Oregon and Penn State. Long shot Indiana, but lets say 3 spots. Big 12: One team league, take your pick. ACC: Two teams probably. Miami, Clemson and SMU all have a decent shot, but only conference game participants in i think. so 2. Group of 5: Boise State, let's say. So prior to considering the SEC, that's only 7 spots. That still leaves 5 spots. Are there 5 SEC teams going to make it? I'm skeptical. You've got Texas probably and A and M has a good path. That's two. Then there's Georgia, Bama, LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee lurking. Ole Miss LSU this week eliminates one of them, let's say Ole Miss out. Then LSU Bama eliminates one of them. And Tennessee plays Bama and Georgia which will certainly knock out one of the three of them. Now you have Texas, A and M, and two more teams from the SEC who survive. And ample space for an undefeated Army or Navy (maybe even a one less Army or Navy! but that might be pushing it). And they still both play ND. If ND beats them both, this spot might be ND's for the taking. In other words, it's chaos.
Extremely unlikely. Only time two G5 teams made a major post season is still just 2009. And with it being the only example thats the bar youd pretty much have to work with. Reality is NOBODY is even on pace for either of these teams.... 1. Both of them went undefeated. One of them was back to back undefeated 2. One of them beat the ACC Runner up in OOC and the other beat a Top 10 pac champion. 3. One of them had 3 Top 25 wins including 2 25+ point Top 20 wins. 4. One of them ranked #1 in defense in the nation, the other ranked #1 in offense in the nation 5. Both teams ranked in the top 2 for margin of victory at 28+ per game. Again no G5 team is on pace to really accomplish any one of these.
If Kentucky wins all their games besides one of two of Texas or Tennessee we could make the playoffs from the opponents we beat and strength of schedule. ESPN was talking about that possibility after ole miss
Some of your Wild scenarios is absolutely Possible indeed. Your Heisman list for me is upside down some, I think Jeanty is #1, Milroe 2, Ward 3, Hunter 4 and ? Is #1. His avg yds per catch not impressive and only 2 picks. He’s definitely top 5 but Not first. And Milroe is the reason Bama got ranked #1 despite a Pathetic Defense. Great Show Again
Having a ton of catches is a wild thing to complain about. INTs are a hard thing to also complain about when the ball isn’t being thrown your way a bunch
Texas is going to have to prove they can beat the Dawgs. I think GA learned a valuable lesson with that slow start against Bama. Make me a believer TX.
Georgia isn't that good. Other than Texas the SEC isn't that good. I know you all will argue this forever but it seems like that conference forgot how to play defense.😊
Georgia, Bama, OSU, Penn State, TX, Oregon are all going to make it automatically with anything less than 3 losses. Even with 3 losses they probably still make it but it's not a guarantee
PSU not making it with 3 and they don’t deserve to with 3. Look at our schedule ROS. I don’t see a third team who they could lose to which would look remotely respectable by the committee
Man, just completely disregarding Oregon is offensive. Ohio state has to travel across the country to play a good Oregon team at home where they hardly ever lose… and you’re adding to their bulletin board material also.

I feel the big 12 may, while not being the "best" division, create some of the best CFB drama, as the teams battle,, and cannibalize each other.
I can't believe I am saying this but he is right about the Penn state Ohio state matchup potential. Its not that wild to think that could happen.
Opening the show with Boise is awesome. I get so tired of hearing about the same 15ish teams all the time
I’ve been saying Indiana will come to the ‘shoe undefeated for almost a month. They’ll be in the mix until the end. Coach is onto something there.
Joel, what if….
Alabama wins out,
Georgia wins out,
Texas loses to Georgia but beats Texas a&m. What do you do with 4 teams all with 7-1 record in sec play
I am very curious about this now.
@@noahargo9990 I believe that would make a Georgia Alabama rematch
It would come down to point differentials I think
@@bigtexas517 nah, cuz Texas would have win over a&m, but Georgia have win over Texas, but bama have win over Georgia. So Georgia Vs bama
@@logancline7805 I don’t think that’s how it would work, but you may be right
Coming to America reference today, Rounders Monday….nice.
Love the show Joel
The Buckeyes could go from "They haven't played anybody!" To "Jeez are they playing everybody??"
Having Jeremiah smith in New York is crazy. What has bro done besides play nobody all year.m
They have one of the hardest schedules in the country so go somewhere else to whine in your corner. He is clearly one of the best receivers in the country as a freshman and that seems to be triggering you which is kind of pathetic.
@@JoshuaRoe-r7s not triggered buddy but the fact you think Ohio state has a tough schedule is hilarious…… JS is a great athlete but its not his fault the school schedules embarrassing games to watch. Ohio state should be ashamed of the teams they played in the beginning of the season. Lots of potential just to play Marshall 💀💀
Alabama having a bad defense is something I never thought I’d see.
Texas and TxAM twice ....man this 12 team playoff is epic
Depending on how it plays out, possibly 3 times at that
Been saying to all season don't sleep on them Hoosiers
With how you see the top tier teams finishing at the G5 level, what would you say TXST’s ceiling is? How far can they go if they win out and finish 10-2. (Up 21-7 when they lost to ASU 31-28, and up 22-0 when they lost to SHSU 40-39)
Joel, thoughts on Cade Klubnik as a heisman contender? His numbers since the Georgia loss are ridiculous.
Imagine army and navy both beat ND and they play each other in the American Championship that is scheduled before their regularly scheduled matchup😮
I'm heart broken that the rose bowl hats are something nearly unattainable 😅
lol love the Coming to America reference love your show!!
Chris Gamble would like a word with the Hunter statement. He also played KR & PR, Hunter does not.
JOEL that rose bowl hat is sooo SICK 🌹
I'm shocked he didn't have Sanders in his top 5 as well lol. How quickly he's forgotten about Charles Woodson. Smh.
Collective bargaining plus guaranteed NIL contracts plus revenue sharing contracts is how you fix it. It sounds convoluted, but the way you fix college football is you get everyone to write everything down and negotiate until both sides are happy enough to chive on.
That’s the fix.
Oregon Ohio State being a matchup of legendary Big 12 QBs sure is something. 😮 Imagine picking either to win it all 😂
I don’t know if I’d call either legendary yet🤣 DG is good but I wouldn’t call him legendary yet
I would say two game managers with loaded rosters 😂
@@Pascalpunkyou said it perfectly lol
Legendary is Sam Bradford and Vince Young - lets pump the breaks......
Doug Lesmires of Kings of the North had that exact Alabama take months ago
Man, the moment they STARTED to get rid of the Jimbo Jinx they completely turned around.
The film of Jeanty just in this episode is straight nutty. His numbers are stupid, right now.
Joel. Will the Playoff Committee move teams around in their final rankings to get certain marquee matchups in the playoff or to avoid rematches. Can they move teams 2 slots for tv ratings possibilities????
They go where the money is, they have proved that time and again
Who has Colorado played? Outside of Nebraska they havent played an elite defense or offense.. boise st would win the big12 this season almost no doubt. Also how dumb is it BYU and Boise dont play each other anymore? Its a 5 hour drive... BSU should be playing both utah and BYU every season or at least every other
I agree with you on who has Colorado played. Other than Nebraska there is really no one. But saying if boise was in the big12 we'd win it? Yeah you lost me there. And not playing BYU sucks. That was such a fun rivalry
@@dakotalynde1913 oh stop, outside of Iowa State and BYU, Boise St would probably be odds favorites against the rest... For sure playing at home at least
Can anyone explain, if the schools directly can give these players some of the revenue, then why cant they have them sign contracts? Wouldn't that balance the power between the schools and the players instead of having more done at the federal level?
Another possible scenario is Texas and A&M playing for a Playoff Spot 10-1 Texas vs 9-2 A&M 14:44
Indiana going into the Ohio State game 10-0 would be the greatest thing ever as an Ohio State fan from Indiana. Gosh I want this so bad
Joel....Big if...Ohio St.35 to Oregon17...Ohio St. will do more Run Heavy and lean on Offensive line...an our Defense will be our Defense...Enough said...Mic Drop
Didn't Ashton only play a half against Utah state and 3 quarters in two other games? Is that real?
He sat the second half vs USU and I believe he was pulled shortly before half against PSU so he's essentially sat out a full game 😂
Could there be a scenario where Texas & Texas A&M play THREE times? They trade wins in the back-to-back games and then meet somewhere in the playoffs?
I love how everyone assumes that Texas will lose a game in the next 2 weeks. Just because Bama crapped the bed doesn't mean that Texas will.
Bama would be in the conversation even with 3 losses.
Texas and A&M are projected to meet in the SEC championship game according to KFord-not that wild.
My wild scenario is both Army and Navy get in the playoff. Even 1 of them is wild.
Maybe previously but they need prove with the new coach they are still that Alabama. 3 losses won’t cut it anymore
I love this show
I would love to see Jeanty against Oregon’s defense now! Oregon’s offense wasn’t looking good and constantly had Oregon’s D on the field and out of breath! Oregon’s D is STOUT, now that the offense is pulling their weight! He would still be amazing but it would look much different!
Does Joel not have a visit scheduled with his son on Fs1 today?
OSU will drop either the road game to Oregon or Penn State. The rematch between those is more likely than Indiana who will most likely drop a game plus the OSU game
I think only one upset would need to happen to have Ohio State / Penn State be 1&2 when they play. If Texas drops one of their games in the next few weekends, and OSU & PSU don't get upset - should happen.
Texas A&M is one of those teams analysts just cant help themselves but hype up the moment they do something good 😂
Not looking like such a cupcake schedule for the Buckeyes afterall
I'll be sure to come back after my Ducks beat Ohio State this weekend.
It would be the second time in like 12 tries lol. Oregon hasn't earned the right to be cocky yet. Go and actually win something meaningful first.
Go Buckeyes !!!! We eating duck meat🥱
@@JoshuaRoe-r7s Smith isn't slow Williams is in a different tier of speed though. He ran a 10.49 as a SOPHOMORE.
I dont know. Can competent and Auburn offense be put together in a sentence. The point Bama on the road against Tennessee ans LSU is rough.
Biggest game at Penn State since Judgment Day 1997 if #1 v. #2 happens
Would love an undefeated Army vs Navy game probably not plausible. Also I hope to see Colorado in the playoffs just for entertainment purposes . & wish Boise State gets a seed where they can host a playoff game BLUEEE TURFFF
Shocking the Colorado grad picks a Colorado player as #1 heisman pick over Jeanty. Which is actually insane
Not really. He has a reasonable approach to it and leaves room for flexibility if things change.
That hat hard asf
Wild but possible: Two G5 playoff teams.
Boise State. Lone loss was week 2 at Oregon on a last second field goal. Also Jeanty wins the Heisman (as I suspect he will).
Undefeated Army or Navy. In what world does an undefeated service academy get passed up for a two or three loss at large SEC team?
Playoff picture:
Big Ten: Probably OSU, Oregon and Penn State.
One of them was back to back undefeated
2. One of them beat the ACC Runner up in OOC and the other beat a Top 10 pac champion.
3. One of them had 3 Top 25 wins including 2 25+ point Top 20 wins.
4. One of them ranked #1 in defense in the nation, the other ranked #1 in offense in the nation
What happens if Clemson, Miami and SMU all go undefeated in ACC, who makes championship game? Do all 3 make the playoffs?
What does 'ATH' stand for as Travis Hunter's position(s)?
If Boise state got a 9-11 seed would that mean the next best non power 4 team would get the 12 seed or would it go to a power 4 school?
@Hockeywizard5577 is a 3 loss PSU a better fit for the CFP than a 2 loss Ole miss? 1 loss Indiana? I would say yes
PSU and OSU play 3 times this year
Pitt sneaks into a the playoffs with a loss to SMU, and a loss to Clemson in the ACC championship game
Pennstate isn’t elite 🤣 not happening
Why has no one in the media talked about the atrocious ACC officiating as of late?!
Man, just completely disregarding Oregon is offensive. Ohio state has to travel across the country to play a good Oregon team at home where they hardly ever lose… and you’re adding to their bulletin board material also.
I have never heard of Travis Hunter.
