There is so much revisionist history when it comes to Bioshock Infinite. It was highly critically acclaimed.
It wasn’t, people actually were upset it was so violent. Not even kidding. That’s ALL people were talking about.
Edit: iWrong…didn’t remember those great scores at all. Just remembered the conversation always being about how the game leaned too hard into violence.
94% critic score and 87% user score on meta critic. 93% on Steam all time and I’m sure the list goes on
@@Chris-ld5vk Some people definitely pissed off. Ken Levine overpromised underdelivered. Yes at the and it ended up really good game, but so many stuff they showed did not make into game.
Infinite's good but it's always had a marred reputation since the final product wasn't like what that first trailer showed.

It's funny how Tim actually mentioned Perfect Dark during the Bioshock topic... when they said it was announced in 2019 looking to staff up from the announcement, and now they seem to be going into full production based on the job listing's.
I was already thinking about the new Perfect Dark because it was announced around the same time...
But what is funny to me, for some reason I have not heard anyone ever say shit about this new Bioshock being in "production hell". When we have heard that at least like 3 times talking about Perfect Dark... N after seeing it at the Xbox showcase, I feel like it looks really dope and has really turned it around.
I personally loved Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite. I didn’t know people were talking about it in a negative way now.
The final release of Infinite was not what the first trailer showed, and the differences are well-documented on many RUclips videos. I liked Infinite as a game (I played it first) but then watching the trailer afterwards, I do wish they kept those initial stuff in.
@@loganbigmoas Ken Levine has stated in several podcasts since everything in those vertical slices appears in some fashion in the final product. The mistake is they showed those vertical slices that weren’t real gameplay to the public. Anyone with a brain at the time should’ve known none of that was gonna be possible on the hardware at the time with what they were showing.
Theres a good amount of dislike for infinite cause it changed the series from a immersive horror sim, into a linear fps. The game also has a very all over the place storyline, with the timetravel not making any sense. Aswell as the critiques about political understanding of segregation/slavery in America. Theres also the fact that the DLC basically changes the original Bioshocks storyline into some bullshit time travel nonsense that is pretty much written off by the entire community.
Some times I wish Andy was on more episodes 😂

@@powerzone6450 hell divers is explicitly a more mid budget game (the fact that 100 million dollar plus games can be realistically “mid budget is insane”, FF7 is a jrpg, and sold badly sadly, dragons dogma and elden ring are both Japanese, and hellblade was mixed at best in terms of reception. I should have clarified and said western AAA is in a rut right now. I hope to god Star Wars and assassins creed are good, they looked sick and are the first Ubisoft games I’ve been excited for in a while. But overall with the year it’s been and the mass layoffs across the board in the west it’s fair to say AAA development is on fire at the moment.
So heres my pitch for the next Bioshock…
A prequel
Take us back to the Hight of Rapture let us roam the city when it was thriving. The player plays as a Sheriff, an unofficial law man in this lawless city. Hired by individuals to enforce justice and bring those that push the boundaries to heel. Lately though people seem to be going mad…. Over the game we witness the rise of ADAMs use the grafting of more and more Plasmids that drives this already Wild West society further crazy. It drives you crazy too. We witness the fall of rapture the civil war its people turning to madness.
And then the game ends with your now Splicer character hearing the arrival of a new Bathysphere. Revealing you are that first splicer your character in Bioshock 1 encountered…

I don’t agree with Tim about Bioshock. Much preferred 2 to infinite. Just didn’t like the powers or the railing mechanic. Just wasn’t the same as being in rapture as well. So I walked away from it disappointed.
I just want more BioShock. I loved infinite, and i just want more, whatever it is. Stop taking so long to make these games!

If anyone is asking what system they should get today, the best answer is a PC. A Steam Deck or one of the competitors at least. PC already has the Xbox first party games and it's obvious that PS is also going to keep putting their first party there too. Maybe not day one, but eventually. You won't get Nintendo games, but not everyone is in to those games.
He's wrong Sony's exclusives don't sell consoles because if you look at the console sales numbers of the PS4 and 5 way over 160 million combined but a game like horizon won't even sell 20 or 30 million between the 2 and games like God of war that are known barely hit them numbers because people are getting PS consoles to play more free to play games like warzone and fortnite etc only Nintendo has high attach rates
You do know horizon sold 32 million around may last year between the 2 right (with zero dawn being like 23 million while forbidden west is 9 million at that time) just because horizon keep releasing next to like botw and elden ring doesnt it mean it sold like sht you are saying
@@sleepyash744 ok let's brake down the numbers zero dawn came out in 2017 and is at 24 million and that's including PC sales to a user base of over 120 user base alone and more if you add PC that's not good attach rates compared to console owners and I'm just talking PlayStation as I know a bunch of them sales came from PC too .. then fordibben west is even worse as it's available on both PS5 and 4 and PC and it's at 8 million those are horrible sales numbers compared to there being over 170 million users available to buy said game .. so I'll repeat what I said earlier there exclusives don't sell consoles as most people are playing fortnite and Cod on there PlayStations shit even the recent numbers this same RUclips channel announced yesterday had fortnite as the most played game lol 🤣 look I'm not saying Sony's games are bad I'm just saying they don't sell consoles.. now Nintendo can say that 🤣

So the BioShock game got announced in December 2019 and kindafunny just completely forgets that in 2020 there was an event that lasted pretty much 3 years? People having to be in lockdown. can't leave their homes. having to learn to work from home. none of that ring a bell? 😂
When people buy multiple of a console only to collect I wonder how much of an impact that has in influencing the industry.
Surprised there's isn't a report on how more PS players are playing to completion the recent Xbox games when compared to those on Xbox.
Also, Ghosts of Tabor is available to wishlist on the PlayStation store for PSVR2.
Job listings really doesn't say that they are hiring for Bioshock. They just say that they are currently working on Bioshock. I think business as usual. This doesn't really mean anything. Project might be in trouble or they might be hiring for another project. A studio is just getting bigger which is a good thing right? When studios lay off you are upset rightfully. But when they hire lots of people you are upset again? Always creating negativity always creating drama.
Why does Tim keep acting like fans liked Bioshock infinite more than 2? Lots of fans hated the art style and the more arcadey feel of Infinite, plus the story was a complete mess. Plus Bioshock 2 has Minerva's Den, which is literally one of the greatest DLCs ever made.
Bioshock 2 was amazing.
