    I have a neighbor who worked under the table for years. He thought he was slick. Now he's whining that his social security checks are "small." Everyone has told him he could go to the IRS and file amended returns, but there would be penalties and possibly charges for doing that. He's just gonna have to live on what he reported. He spent years sarcastically criticizing people for reporting everything, now he's getting his comeuppance. We're all laughing.

      I used to work in personal injury. Taxi drivers would get in accidents and come to us to claim. Part of their claim would be for lost earnings while they/the cab were off the road.
      Their faces ALWAYS fell when I told them their losses would be based off the income they'd previously declared to the taxman

    Honestly that Luna jerk is why SS is so messed up! I've been out of work since 2019. 9 years I worked after I broke my neck! Now that the arthritis set in I'm unable. Not his kind of unable either! It's so damn frustrating! I've done everything I could not to have to be in this position!
    Anyway vent finished, I love your videos thank you for your hard work!

    • @YurikasMom
      @YurikasMom Год назад +4

      Exactly 💯. I've had 6 knee surgeries and 5 back surgeries, and it took 2 years, 2 denials, a lawyer, and a judicial hearing for me to be approved for SSDI. The messed up part about this, is that it was approved ONLY because I'm bipolar and over 50 as well. I'm lucky that I was in high paying positions for 30 years so my SSDI is a good amount monthly. For someone so young, it won't even be a living wage.

    • @joela.4279
      @joela.4279 Год назад +3

      Mr McPeters from this video, too. I dont know the entirety of his circumstances, but there are plenty of jobs you can do with a bum knee, which didn't stop him from working at the barbershop under the table. Please keep your head up with SSA. I know it's all messed up - I represent disability claimants. You should hire an attorney if you're denied. The only reason I say this is because the process is so convoluted, seemingly purposefully. It really helps to have someone who knows these intricacies to help you navigate the process. Best of luck to you.

      Took me 45 months to get my SSDI .. i did NOT want it but i truly had no choice.. i was a Union worker in a very lucrative trade..
      Ive had 2 spinal surgeries.. have 6 completely degenerated disc in my lumbar spine.. advanced arthritis..
      After receiving my SSDI & i also received my Union Pension at 100% of my yrs of service (32 yrs)..
      It was extremely difficult going from a 150k+ annual salary to $0.00!
      Used my life savings to pay bills for those 45 months..
      I do ok between the two now .. i get a lil over 4k a month now and have health insurance on my wife for the rest of her life (im on Medicare)..
      1 month after getting my SS award & my Pension & benefits reinstated.. my wife is diagnosed w/ Stage Two Breast Cancer.. (May 2020).. 22 rounds of Chemo.. Double Mastectomy & Reconstruction..
      My Insurance benefits paid 100% of her treatments.. $300.00 deductible Annually.. we paid $600.00 out of our pockets over 16 months & my Insurance paid out a lil over 400k in medical bills..
      A lot of folks talk bad about Unions.. my Union has taken care of me & my family very well over my career..
      I WOULD work if i were able to stand on my feet for extended periods..
      After about 1 hour though.. my lower back begins to hurt so bad i have to sit down..
      Im 60 now.. ive worked since i was 15 yrs old.. im no freeloader by any means.. i paid into SS for 45 yrs..
      But these folks admitting that they CAN work but would rather get that check.. folks game the SS system EVERY day!

      @@YurikasMom I feel your pain . I had to apply at 25 after 4 spinal surgeries with 5 Harrington titanium rods, 32 screws and a cage system to hold it into place, 2 artificial discs and 2 titanium plates with one paste ground from part of my hip bone. Upto that point, I hadn’t really started my career. I worked a decent job and volunteered with the local juvenile court investigating child abuse and neglect as a court appaointed special advocate/guardian ad litem. So with disability basing my pay off what I had been making up to 25, it’s abysmal. I’m so lucky I have family that helps and finally in a position where I feel I can get back to work. Enrolling into nursing school and have almost all my pre reqs done!

    I am a disability recipient, since applying I have never applied for nor have worked based on the simple fact that my disability occurred 20 years prior to my filing for disability where I raised a family and did not file until my last stepchild was out of the house and my wife passed at 43 from cancer. I waited until I could not work anymore and then filed. It is unfortunate that the SSDI process is so long and it is long because of people who do not need it and can work giving up. Sorry but people like this really upset me!

    Any inappropriate behavior such as in the bathroom, disrobing, etc, should automatically be charged with comtempt. Not only that, many judges seem to be far too lenient, which only enables this sort of behavior, such as that horrid woman who cursed, spoke disrespectfully and talked over the judge.

    • @davidhawthorne6058

      taking off a coat is disrobing... should that be contempt? I just posted a comment about my PTSD and panic attacks. Unbuckling pants and undoing the top button of your pants may seem inappropriate, but as long as nothing is shown (underwear, genitals, etc..) I don't see why that, in and of itself, should be contempt...

    Ok your going to argue with me however, as an ex single mom let me tell you something. This man is in his kids life. He is paying child support by offsetting childcare. He also feeds the kids. Now we all know he's working under the table. That's what some do so most of the money isn't taken. The biggest issue is the state isn't getting the money. From the total budget for welfare, families get below 12% of the entire monies. Instead of penalizing father's we should recognize that putting this father in jail will hurt the family. It might even cost the mother her job. And will certainly destabilize everyone. Instead why not recognize the validity of the father's contribution to the family? If he works full time it will not offset the cost of childcare and who will drive them to school and back? We need to be reasonable.

      I too worked as long as I could. I loved my nursing job. I was using a walker and still working long term care. Then I finally quit, and tried so hard to find a different type of job. Nobody wanted to hire a middle aged, morbidly obese woman who used a walker. I was then diagnosed with rectal cancer. It took me three years to be approved for SSDI. When I hear of people being approved for " knee pain" or " back pain" it's infuriating. I was literally stuck in a flexed forward about 60 degrees, both knees shot, severe carpal tunnel, and cancer and had to fight tooth and nail for approval.

Poor productivity, realistically unhireable as their physical state can be too unpredictable to rely on.

      They’re a thing. Had a few tried in the Navy when I was head of my various commands’ urinalysis. Uuuusually not found in seasoned military, but the youngins try it, usually when processing into boot camp/basic training. And, of course, there are plenty of sea stories of others who’ve encountered them. Side note: we, as in senior sailors/airmen/marines/soldiers are the observers, meaning we physically watch the urine leave the body and into the cup. Kind of hard to hide a wizzinator, especially when they are the wrong skin tone. Don’t ask.
