That was like getting hunted by a shark at the end! By the time you saw him, it was too late. I still think you should rematch both the Felon and the Raptor with the Strike Eagle armed with Meteor missiles; I think it would be a lot closer.

You can actually see him 12:48 flying to the eagle's six. The fact that aircraft are becoming so stealth now that BFM has come back into play is crazy to think about.
Very nice catch, it is barely visible for a split second, but you can see him coming over that water and tall buildings on the left/upper side of the screen.
The tactics used by the F-22 in this video were scary. Intermittently using the radar. It genuinely felt like there was a predator out there stalking him.
At the end of a trying week dealing with the real world, it's always so nice to take a sidebar distraction from reality and watch your videos, man. The most professional of their type on the web. As a Navy veteran with my own stories to tell about air combat at sea (decades before you were born), I watch with such locked-interest and appreciation. Thing is, you may be spotting a "bumblebee" but it's a bumblebee closing with you at mach 1 or 2. Probably easy to distinguish over the regular bumblebees.
A metal bumblebee, at mach 1.5.... Still pretty impressive that the radar is essentially detecting somthing that from its POV is basically a medium sized bullet from a rifle.
I literally started laughing out loud at about 13:10 when that radar indicator went off. What a fight until it wasn't anymore, haha. Thanks for these great videos. Love all of them!
With the strike eagles powerful radar but limited by the aim 120s I’m curious how this fight would go with the eagle having aim 152 Raytheon that you tested in previous videos

Well the RWR can detect an opposing aircraft at ^2 of the distance between the two aircraft. Whereas your aircraft can only pick up the opposing aircraft at ^4 of the distance (as a rough example) Therefore, if the RWR is good enough, any aircraft should be able to sneak up on another in such isolated circumstances. Assuming their opponent leaves their own radar on the whole time.
well we all know the answer to that question...because in a real world test 5 F-22 pilots all flying F-15's went up against one F-22 and they never seen him and they all died
I’m guessing his radar is an upgraded version, but I’ve heard enough accounts from pilots to be confident that the F-15C radar in the early 2000s couldn’t pick up the F 22 at all. There was even a genuine inquiry from some of the pilots at one point as to whether or not the F-22’s were flying, or if they were being put into a simulation, because they never saw them at all in multiple engagements, on RADAR or visually. I’m suspicious that the F-15E RADAR in DCS is accurate. Wonder if an update will fix this…
Half way thru this video I was yelling at the screen “ he’s going to form up on your wing again haha. Sure enough he hit your six. He was cutting his radar on and off to catch you. That’s why you were losing him.
When the F-22 notches it’s radar cross section becomes the size of a bee apparently so that may be why you pick him up on radar when he commits vs notches
I saw a video awhile back where 5 / f15 went up against 1 raptor. All 5 15 pilots were reported saying they didn't even know he was there. Raptor took them all out and was never seen on radar at all. I know you put up a good fight in this video but like you said before. All the Raptors tech. Is not known. If it was you might not have made it through 5 minutes. I live near Langley AFB. I. Get to see the Raptors on a regular basis. I'm 12 to 14 miles from the base. When they take off it sounds like their just outside the front door. My wife works beside the base and she says they shake the buildings when they take off towards the West. They usually take off towards the east over the Chesapeake Bay. Sound of freedom
How does DCS/the model builders determine the abilities of the technology of each aircraft? Like, how do we know if it's accurate when most of that stuff is secret?
They dont model the secret stuff. Only the things that are available for the public and back those things up with SME (Special matter experts) that often worked with those aircraft back then. Thats btw the reason why we only have aircrafts in dcs that are at least +15 years old and nothing state of the art. The electronic warfare simulation is none existent as a example what is not available in the sim.
SME is subject matter expert, meaning actual pilots who flew the f15e in a lot of cases they are also using manuals and stuff that are declassified, somethings that are classified are simply modelled by publicly available information

Yeah, 60 miles, that is a way too big range for the F15E to see the F22 on the radar. But still, F22 is able to defeat at the close range to F15E.

Coming from the Viper, the Mudhen definitely has some weight on her, but has a definite edge in BVR. That radar is nuts. Loving it

As a retired Air Battle Manager I can assure you there is no contest between the two.
Now that I got to watch it, 22 or 23 days of asking for it payed off!!! By far the best BVR performance agasint the F22 I've ever seen!!
