    I MISS YOU ALL! 😊💜
    Today I formulated a simple, 5 ingredient, natural shampoo base that has:
    ✨ NO Sulfates
    ✨ NO Parabens or formaldehyde
    ✨ NO Thickeners
    This Simple Shampoo is:
    ✨ Gentle & Mild
    ✨ Easy to make
    ✨ pH Balanced
    (THE MEASUREMENTS IN THE VIDEO WERE RECORDED WRONG!) THE CORRECT FORMULA IS IN THE DESCRIPTION BOX!
    We will build on this base in the next few videos. Later, we will add oils, conditioning agents, opacifiers, and more.
    ⚠Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate - Be sure to wear a mask when handling. The fine dust should NOT be inhaled.
    (SCI is Plant-based, Plant-derived, Vegan, Biodegradable, and used in many "natural" products. However, it is also synthetic.)

      Oh no so the cocomidopropyl betaine was 10% not 20% right? I tried making it yesterday at 20% with 4% sci and it became very thick 😃 will try it at 10%. Thank you ,if it's so then water in your description box should be more than 70%. Thank you so much Yaya😍

    • @YayaDIYCreations
      @YayaDIYCreations  2 года назад +2

      @@HerwrittenReview Oh thank you for that catch! It is 20% Cocamidopropyl Betaine. It will be way too thick with less. Sorry about that typo! The measurements in the video are correct, but the description was wrong. I corrected this. For this batch size of 8oz, 20% would be 45.36 grams. I just typed the percentage wrong. I am so sorry. 💜

    • @YayaDIYCreations
      @YayaDIYCreations  2 года назад +2

      @@HerwrittenReview Sorry I may have misunderstood. I used 20% cocamidopropyl betaine to 4.25% of SCI. 74% distilled water. If it is coming out thick, make sure you are checking your ph, the preservative you are using, and or fragrance you are using. These ingredients can change the consistency. I hope this helps. 💜

    Hi, when you work with SCI the final pH of your formulacion should be 6-8 cause SCI might hydrolysed. Also you don't have to dilute your solution to check your pH if it's water base.
    I hope this helps you, I am cosmetic chemist.

    Hi Yaya, I hope you are doing great! I wanted to make a shampoo for cleansing my hair after swimming pool. Well I have tried your recipe, but I added o,45gr of sodium phytate in the water phase, and 27,12gr of cucumber extract in the cool down phase, obviously I do not have the same viscosity than you. So would you help me to correct the end result. I have thought adding some thickener like xanthan gum, but what would you advise me? Thank you Yaya for your help, looking forward to reading your tips.

    My grand pa used to use Bourbon for most of his inventions and it gave amazing results especially when you keep it away from the sun light for a period of time.
    You can keep on the roof of your house in that room on the corner with heatproof layers, because it might be flammable.
    And avoid water, if you have seawater that would be better to fill up 3 or 4 gallons and put them in the corners, to take all the humidity and keep the product as Dry as possible.
    Till the time you use it .
    Thanks guys 😍😘

    This was Awesome!! Yaya I have a question to ask you about a hydrating mist with aloe Vera juice and distilled water. Would I have to use a preservative to sell it? Idk how much to use I can’t find the answer anywhere. It would be 8oz spray bottles

    • @YayaDIYCreations
      @YayaDIYCreations  2 года назад +3

      Thank you! Yes! Anything with water absolutely must have a preservative. It is hard to answer this question because I can’t give legal business advice for items that will be sold.
      However, I can say, check the usage rate of your preservative. With most, you only need 0.5 to 1%. However, there are some that need 2 to 4%. Usually the “natural” ones need more.
      This is the percentage of your total weight in grams. You have 8 oz, which is usually about ~226 grams. One percentage (1%) would be ~2.26 grams. 2.26 grams equals about ~0.08 oz.
      However, you must always test your product for stability to see if that particular preservative or amount works for your formulation. It is harder to preserve products that are mostly water. Which mist, especially ones made with aloe Vera, are. I hope this helps. 💜💜

      @@YayaDIYCreations Awesome info! Can you suggest the best preservative(preferrably a more naturally derived one that's a broad spectrum preservative) aside from Optiphen that can be used for liquid sprays like this? Also I have purchased rose water hydrosols before and the only ingredient was the hydrosol and no preservative. Why wouldn't a hydrosol liquid need a preservative, but other liquid cosmetics do...just curious? 😊

      @@TheTif129 Hi! Hydrosols do not need to be preserved because they are formed from steam and steam is very pure. Also, good preservatives that can be used in your mists are sodium benzoate, germall plus and phenoxyethanol.. You can combine any 2 of these to extend the shelf-life but it most likely can't last beyond 6months in my opinion. Hope this helps.
      Blessings!
