    The problem with the first tip is that it is completely ineffective if the narcissist is a parental figure or someone who holds power over you that can change your life for the worse since they will most likely take your efforts at setting boundaries as an attack on them.
    This tip is more effective for narcissists who don't fall into those power imbalances.

    • @Psych2go

      @Exsol300 4 месяца назад +8

      @@PhaniARVV I'd probably recommend if able to limit your interactions with them.
      Instead of setting boundaries with them, set boundaries for yourself in which you will only allow yourself to interact with them under certain conditions. Or if you have support only interact with them with someone else that's with you.
      Be assertive but not defensive (grey rock it up) because narcissists will try to find a way to get a rise out of you.
      Stay strong because at the end of the day their words and put-downs don't matter, you matter.

He said “Pity, you’ve spent so much money on therapy and you’ve done nothing. You’re a grown woman and act like a kid.” What an asshole he is, every little argument with him triggers all my traumatic experiences as a child. I freaking hate him sometimes. I especially hate how unfair this is to me, growing up he messed me up to the point that I’ll never fully recover from all that and he KEEPS DOING IT. He only says those things because he knows that you will get upset. If you can take a breath in the moment when he says things like that to you and respond with neutrality or grey rock him, he'll eventually stop. I know it's hard and it will be difficult at first, but you have to take your power back by not giving him emotional reactions to those types of comments. I dealt with this for 33 years with my dad and it took years of practice for me to not SHOW that he's triggering me. It helped when I started picturing him as a 5 year old little boy, now I just think "wow, you're so insecure that you go way too far to try to get me to feel bad, poor thing". I also had to stop talking to him about anything at all, specifically all of my personal business. He knows nothing about my work, my relationship or any of my plans that I'm working on to build my future. If you're still a minor, living at home, it might be hard to establish clear boundaries at first, but try to journal about what things you will and will not talk to him about and read your lists every day until you really drill it into your mind so you can show up different with him. ❤

    This makes me even more anxious to the point of turning off my phone and ignoring their messages - I really hate having to say that I don't want to see them, that it drains me and just one phone call keeps me down for a week :( It's like they are sucking out all my energy :( I don't want to be a "bad son" but I also don't want to be down and depressed all the time. Of course, they would never accept visiting a family therapist - they think it's purely my problem.

    I did this one year ago. I've been in some long argument with a friend of mine that even if we confronted each other about stuff (I always been the one seeking confront to set things right) and yet he would go back onto subject that has been solved just to have the "hook" of "I was right back then". This whole argument went on for a long and exhausting year, than at some point I realized that the only way possible was to LET GO. He had a perception of me and there was nothing I could do to tell him that his perception he had of me as an enemy had nothing to do with who was confronting him... but he wouldn't listen.
    I applied every step listed in this video and in the long run it's working just fine, despite making us be less closer friend than we're used to, but probably for the best.
    It wasn't very easy, but if anyone of you happen to experience something like this as well, if you TRIED everything to make it come down to reasoning with no result, DON'T be afraid to take distances from such toxic behaviours for your own sake an peace.

    What should I do if my reviewer at work is a narcissist? My coworkers successfully avoided getting assigned to work with him but I couldn’t since I joined the firm late. His boss who is the chief of the department doesn’t understand me when I complained to him about the guy, by responding “everyone is different. Try to build trust with him.” It’s been taking tolls on my mental health, putting up with subtle and seemingly unintentional attempts to gain the upper hand, establish dominance, ruin my reputation. My boss wants to talk about how I’m doing in three months and he said he might consider giving me a different role. I love this job and the pay is good. I love working with other coworkers but I can’t even stand him even for a day. Should I quit my job and move on now or wait to have that career discussion with my boss in three months?

It was two days before we were due to take a two week trip to see my family as I moved to another country for him. I haven't seen him in four months; I think it's been almost two since we talked. I'm a mess and he's dating the woman we both work together with (my coworker 😭💔 who he had an affair with, it's like she doesn't even exist. I just had to know more so I decided to try this investigator privately. I checked a message that was posted in a group, at first I thought it wasn't going to work. I'm still in awe of all the information they were able to help me extract from my husbands phone without his knowledge and text messages. the deleted messages, chats, videos, calls. The story was revealed to me. These tests were a huge help because I worked on my papers for myself and now I can stay with my son and have a good job. Guys... narcissistic abuse isnt real. Theres nothing that sets apart abuse from a narcissist compared to a non-narcissist. They can be abusive, but it isnt its own type of abuse. Its like saying if someone with autism is abusive then its autistic abuse.

      the difference here is that there's usually a spiritual component when it comes to narcissism (most are usually possessed not all tho, it's not normal for a human's eyes to turn completely black unless they are possessed, I'm talking when there iris and white of the eye turn black, that's not just pupil expansion) which is being abused by a demon using a person's body (you may not believe in the spiritual but I do) but even then I agree with you, anyone can be abusive narc or no narc

      @@Echodoesstuff62333 I didn't say you all were but most are (ofc some who have it aren't) also as for the last part of your comment I already talked about this in my previous comment, it's not normal for the white of the eyes to go black not to mention I've seen some with NPD who's face the best in how to describe it is morph when they cause pain to another person (their mouth makes the most wicked grin I've ever seen, a big sadistic smile from ear to ear, now yes people without NPD can also be possessed I'm not denying that but I'm not gonna sit here and deny what I saw either)

      @@Echodoesstuff62333 it's only possessed people's eyes who I see turn black, unpossessed people's eyes don't do that and yeah I've been accused of being schizophrenic before (the secular world isn't gonna admit to the spiritual existing), besides I'm not the only person who has seen signs of demonic possession other people have as well even if it's just a few, all I'm saying is the moment more people start seeing this stuff they're gonna (by they're I mean the medical community and government) try and sweep it under the rug, remember when others thought "aliens" existed and back then the government was covering it up? (now it's made public also as for why I put aliens in quotes is because I believe those things to be either fallen angels and/or demons, just not sure which one, possibly both) anyways thanks for your concern I suppose but i don't have nothing else to say here
