Steph the shinies they encountered were the red gyarados, but imagine if both of them did encounter full odds shinies in the same location at the same time. People would think they pressed their L button.
Seriously though, the idea of these games and Jayden's concept are perfect for each other. She brings so much of the stuff in our mind around the game out to existence.
Last time I did a nuzlocke my starter Monferno was the only one to die. I had caught a Gible that I didn't intend to use, but that got me so angry that I shitstomped the rest of the game with Garchomp

I've been... bingeing people reacting to Jaiden's nuztlockes, and what amazes me the most is that even with 10+ views of it under my belt now there's STILL new stuff to find in the animations.
In this one it was Jaiden's face at 4:30. It's SO perfect and I've somehow not noticed it before now :D
4:33, wynaut is good on its own, but if its the only pokemon you have there is gonna be no way to win any battles, as it doesn't have counter or mirror coat at level 5, and there's no way to get any new pokemon before the first mandatory battle (first rival fight) in the game .
Not only that, it only has Charm and Splash, meaning it has to struggle to do damage
I don't think i'd ever want to try the one-type rule in a standard soul-link, but I think it's a great idea when the encounters are randomized, since it makes for some creative team-building decisions
A level 5 wynaut will have charm, encore, and splash. It won't learn anything else until level 15. He literally can't be used
I forgot, is the rival battle in hgss a mandatory win to progress, or does it go through no matter what? Because if the story still progresses on a loss, it'd still be possible - however tedious it may be.
Get pokeballs, run officially starts, catch a pokemon, switch out level grind the wynaut.
I'm pretty sure the story still goes on.
@@MiudmonDice Technically it could be used, but I don't know how anyone in their right mind could think it was a good idea. Even if it was the fully-evolved Wobble and you had the infinite amount of time and patience required for a pokemon that can't attack without being attacked, you're playing with fire every time you use it because you just have to predict when the opponent is going to go for an attack, what the actual attack is going to be (which is especially hard in a randomizer since you can't look up the movesets), and whether or not Wobble can take the hit. Way too many things can go wrong here for it to be worth the trouble.
@@metanightmare4454 i don't think they were playing with randomized movesets based on the fact that that early Regirock they ran into used Explode, which they naturally get at LV 1

Not too long ago, Jaiden posted a highlights reel of the stream for this Nuzlocke on her, barely used, gameplay channel. It's great, and all I gotta say is "Pokemon aren't tools of war, JAN!" lmao
common randomisers 100% randomise every single encounter
theres just ALOT of legendaries in this gen
1 to 1 changes (all rattata are palkia) is an optional mode. There's also every encounter slot is a random pokemon (and since most areas have multiple slots for one pokemon, which ups the encounter rate accordingly, it can be kinda weird sometimes).
The rule where only one of a type is allowed across both teams, where, for example, if I have a rock type my partner can’t have one, I thought was a standard rule for soul links
this is a side rule put in place so people would have a more varied team to make it "more fun to watch". i like both versions honestly
She did say Primary Types as to why the Camerupt Sandslash link or why she can have Abomasnow when Alpharad has Torterra, since Abomasnow is Primary Ice

@@scootermcpeanuts6699 I think that's also why they only used 5 Mons. As their other Mons were either dead or they probably didn't have any other qualified Links to add to the team. Or those other links overlapped with Mons on the team already cause of the typing
Like Jacob's Suicune would overlap Jaiden's Empoleon...Or Jaiden's Shuckle!? would overlap Jacob's Beautifly...I got Shuckle in ? cause idk which of the two it belonged to, but judging by the luck in the run it's most likely Jaiden's
I wonder if Soul Link Dupes Clause works different...so Jaiden had Cradily, would Jacob be able to catch one for a different pair or would it be Dupes Clause? Cause technically Jacob doesn't have a Cradily himself. And if he did catch one, would he be able to use his if Jaiden's Cradily died?

The shiny they found was the shiny Gyarados that got randomized

if you could find a pokemon with only harden, you could use all your moves, then struggle train it.

Yeah the type rule I’ve seen in every soul link I’ve ever watched but idk if they did it different cause they mention not adding mewtwo/weepinbell cause of grass type and then show abomasnow, but at the same time they also had torterra and at the end of the game they had doduo and bibarel which are also both the same primary type in normal.
It's primary types. So weepinbell is primary grass and so is torterra while abomasnow is primary ice I'm pretty sure. Dodrio is primary flying so that's fine. On the other hand sandslash and camerupt were another one. While sandslash is ground type only, I believe that camerupt is fire/ground I believe. I could be wrong about that one.

They probably treated Doduo as Flying since they is no primary flying type pokemon iirc

Is Wynaut even an option here does it even have an attacking move at lvl5? Intresting ide of using the same type rule. But then again if u dont use that rule odds are that your team could look VERY simular if not using a randomizer. Even with a randomizer u could end up with the same type/pokemon so it mixes up the team even more and makes u think more outside the box in the team building phase.
Wynaut would be impossible to use. It can’t learn any attacking moves other than Counter and Mirror Coat so trying to level it up would be impossible
it has charm encore splash at level 5.

My custom nuzlocke adjustment is my personal "idiot clause" where I get distracted and wander into a place different from where I thought I was. Then I just immediately switch the game off and have to restart from last save, however far back that was

Because I feel like I could get someone through a Soul-link and I've never even played a Nuzlocke.

your like the 7 or 8th reactor ive seen (including some poketubers) not know the one type per party rule? thats how i first got introduced to soullinks is with that rule. is that not actually a rule?

Not sure if I’m the only one to notice this, but Bibarel and Dodrio are both primary normal types, so the E4 and Lance sort of didn’t follow the rules. But I’m not gonna complain, a lot of old bird Pokémon could have easily been pure flying type, so switching it to be flying/normal makes sense. Heck I don‘t think there even was a primary Flying type mon until generation 5 with Tornadus.

Jacob's Bibarel didn't die against Bruno, you clearly see it survive in the red and then finish off the Ambipom with Superpower
@@ItsFireTiger sorry I must’ve thought it said zero, but know what I think it actually was and I’m surprised that I focused on Jacobs Bibarel and the nidoqueen was that Jayden still included Jacobs dodrio in a frame after it was already knocked out when bringing up the rest of lances team. Also it’s been 4 months so I couldn’t tell you how I made such a weird mistake like that
@@nuclearrylaw7616 If you really have good eyes, look into the Tate and Liza fight where Jaiden started with Tentacruel and Duskull. She messed up and switched and Magneton sadly died when she could've stayed in and ko-ed easy. But it was her first Nuzlocke so mistakes happen.
....wait....so you can't have two grass types. They have a GRASS/ice type and a GRASS/ground type. One of the rules was that if one member had a main typing than the other person couldn't have the same typing.

Trust me I’m doing a BTS pee nose lock but I do them for all specific types and I can tell you right now I have only beaten Cynthia with one type of Pokémon and that was flying type ground poison and fighting I came so close I’m on my last challenge which is grass types

@@kazukishin395 they are also considered gen 4. Generations are defined by the next mainline game in the series. This is why ruby, sapphire, and emerald, as well as fire red and leaf green are considered gen 3. Basically whenever a new game introduces a new region with new pokemon that marks the beginning of the generation which doesn't end until a new one begins
