The first cymbal is excellent. Very close likeness to Bill’s sound. Now I’m going to have to start clamping down my rides to see if I can get closer to this sound (along with the grip).
Just received the cymbal this morning. It’s unbelievable! An absolute beauty. Listen folks, these cymbals ARE the real deal. Great work Tim! Keep it going brother.
Thanks a lot, al lot of usefull information and a very interesting story about Bill's musicaly playing and holding his sticks. BTW what type of Vic Firth are you using in this video. Keep up Groovin' !
Man... i do the same thing with my Cymbals! (Choke in it) Great video, and great sound Cymbals...you really got it! Let me ask you: what mics you use? Sounds great! Great job and greetings from Chile!
Thanks so very much for sharing! I'd like to take this information into consideration. I do have various cymbals and would love to check this out for myself. By the way, one of my types of cymbals are the muted cymbals with the "holes' in them.
i am repeatedly amazed and shocked every time i see any youtube drumming video at all where someone is using bare wooden-tipped sticks, not nylon. Whyyy?? would anyone, ever, do this? A Plastic/nylong tip is: louder Brighter Clearer more Pingier. Why would you want that. I would. All the time! You can always PLAY a nylon tip softly if you think its loud, but tell me ONE Genre of Music that you feel sounds better with bare wooden-tip sticks. Jazz? No way. Hard Rock? Too muffled and soft.
Great vid and lovely playing from the En Route album - my fave of Bill’s
the best!
Very informative! Love these rides, all of them!

Good luck with that! It’s certainly an interesting thing to try.
Wonderful job Tim. I just grabbed the 2610g cymbal. Can’t wait to play and hear it in person.
Thank you so much Joseph! I’ll get it packed and shipped on Monday for you!
Awesome Tim. Can’t wait. That cymbal sounds like Grady Tate’s cymbal on Stan Getz’s Sweet Rain album.
@@josephcollura1220 oh I love that album! I’ll have to listen again with that in mind.

@@josephcollura1220 thank you so much Joseph!
This is a fabulous summary of Bill's technique and ride sounds.
Thanks!
Thanks! Those cymbals sound great.
0:41 Everybodys party, great sounds
The 2585g with the noticeable hammering sounded great.
Dude, the very first cymbal you played sounds great !
Thanks!
What a 👌cymbals, Nr 1 and the last cymbal are my taste! Thanx for the info!!
Thank you!
Fine dark/dry sounding cymbals, they all hit my ballpark.
Btw, great stylish drumming on the demo clips 🤘
Thank you!

Thanks! I’m using the Vic firth MJ4 in this video 🙌
Really liking the first one, the 2540g... and you sound great Tim!
Thank you!
Great cymbals! Really love the 1st and last ones. Also love the few bars of "Everybody's Party"
So close! I had “over big top” in my head for that ditty. Then again I’ve heard Bill play that groove many times in different tunes.
@@ReverieDrumCo Ah, cool. Bill's grooves are stunning aren't they? Great playing by you on your sound files too.
@@cymbaljunkie Thank you!
Timothy I like all four cymbals equally well. Nice job. Bill.
Thanks Bill!

I use an Audio Technica BP4029 stereo mic sometimes and other times I use a pair of SR25s. Thanks for watching!
@@ReverieDrumCo Thank you very much!
Tim
One other thing about Bill is he hammers his own cymbals. He takes out the home version of the ball peen and tweaks the tuning a bit.
Yep I’ve heard the same thing. He doesn’t do it to all of his rides, but I’ve heard that he has done it to a couple.

You bet! Does that cymbal with the holes sound pretty trashy?
@@ReverieDrumCo It has a high pitch sound. It does depend on how I play it.
I feel like you'll get more sounds out of these rides using Carter Mcleans's sticks!
Yeah I dig that stick!

That's just your opinion. I think there are many applications for both types of sticks.
