- Houston police say there were a total of five people in the stolen car between 12 - 13 years old. One of them was found in the backseat and died at the hospital, two were arrested but two others are still on the run.
At 12, I was playing baseball, hunting fishing, and going to school. Parents are the problem today.
Where was the parents these children should have been in bed getting ready for school we need to do better as parents.

I agree. Time to go back to actually disciplining kids. Not abuse. But a spanking didn't kill us. Neither did a switch. Schools used paddles. We had sense because of it and respect.

Police are forced to tell us stops and contacts by race, arrests by race, citations by race, well I want to know how many of these juveniles suspects live with two parents in the household. I don’t even care gender ideology of the family, I just want to know if all this criminality is due to the proliferation of the single parent birth rate.
I got whooped with a belt at home and paddled at school for every little thing. I became an angry person and lost respect for authority. I did a little of it when my sons were younger, only for if they hurt the other one mostly, but stopped that and went to measured groundings instead.
I didn't allow mine to be paddled at school. At each new school, the principals would call them into the office to tell them they knew they were going to be trouble. My sons told they would not because of their mother. My sons knew how important they were to me and what was expected of them.
My sons did better than I did when I hit my teen years --- not that I did anything wrong much. I wasn't afraid of my parents in that aspect, either. I was afraid of breaking the law like theft and real harm for other reasons. I didn't want to disappoint God for one thing.
I talked to my sons about life more than I was talked to. I explained things to them. I was consistent in my expectations and I gave them good role models in male members of my family as well. Nobody was having scrapes with the law. My sons did very well. Then and now. They are in their thirties now.
These kids probably did get whoopins at home. They did not get what really makes a kid fly right and see a clear future and how to obtain it by avoiding doing stupid and terrible things. I taught mine to be leaders and not followers and how to explain things to their friends, just like I explained things to them. They put good peer pressure on others at school and their teachers and principals came to like having them around. They knew who my kids were.
There must be discipline, but it doesn't have to be and should not be based on physical punishment. It must be consistent and not based on how pissed off they make a parent. A parent has to be around and be available and listen to their kids as well. I did that while working one or two jobs at a time while earning a bachelor's degree, cooking and cleaning and talking with my sons.

What is so sad, is the comments on here. People hearts are so cold and wicked. How can people actually say these nasty things, but if the shoes were on other foot they would want sympathy and compassion. This could be one of your children, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends or etc.. This we can see these children are lost. Nobody knows their up bringing. It’s not the children fault it’s the parents. And We can’t fully say that because some parents do try their hardest to raise their children. Some children sneak behind parents backs to do things, we as adults were one. We never told our parents everything, just happened that the Good Lord gave us grace and favor. Just seeing the hearts of the ones writing these comments, if I were one of your family members, children, friend or even a spouse would be ashamed, embarrassed, hurt, and disgusted. Reading them, would give me wisdom not trust any of you. Because if those words come out of the mouths, show me the hearts. I pray one day your hearts will soften. This shows me the hearts of people., which make them no different from these children. Their hearts wasn’t in the right place either. Praying for the family of child that passed away, and that this will be awake up call to the others.

Birth control costs money and is not 100% effective. It doesn't help that abortions are illegal in states that need it the most. We could save a fortune in tax dollars if we made IUDs and the morning after pill free to everyone who wanted it.

Ask your male friends. We all know at least one guy who snuck out at night to meet up with his friends. One of the two I know was 13 when he pushed his dad's truck down the driveway before starting it and picking up another friend for a midnight joy ride. The other helped the neighbor boy push his parent's car so they could joy ride. The first kid did some dangerous stunts but wasn't caught. The second drove around the neighborhood in a safe manner but was busted.

When a person is detained they are handcuffed and put in the back of a police car. So please tell me where did it show anyone in handcuffs

Alll the ones whose parents are KIA, have a police or construction worker parent killed on the job or have parents killed by a drunk or drugged driver. My neighbors both died of heart attacks within months of each other leaving a teen child with no parent.
