I fully agree, the only thing your paying for over the basic entry Axial sx10ii or traxxas trx4 is licenced body, locking diffs, two speed trans, and rear or front wheel gear overdrive. I do see a benefit for locking diffs and front to rear drive gear overdrive as it's a 4x4 truck thing. However the two speed trany is waste for me. I specifically sought out to get a used SCX10ii because I didn't like the complexity and expense of buying and owning of the SCX10iii. I think the former is a good balance between cost, functionality and quality. It will be probably become a sought after platform in the years to come.
Base camp is 50 more. The new element rc is 40 less if you want straight axle. A gen8 v2 is 10 less than a deadbolt. I've had them and it's sadly overpriced now days
I just got into crawling and built an SCX10 II Raw Builders Kit. That kit is so amazing! I hope to see a SCX10 III Raw Builders Kit. Excellent value and you really learn everything you need to maintain and begin customizing your vehicles!
I agree with so many in saying the scx10ii is a great platform, great review by the way Matt . There are so many after market flat chassis’s , parts , wheels , tires, upgrades, bodies , cages . I say let the scx10ii have its glory for a little while longer and who knows maybe the next one will be the wraith with the base camp inerds under it , these big companies think when making these decisions to release something that ok I’ve got a whole container of plastic axles and dog bones , links and anything extra they can throw at it. It sometimes makes a lot of sense for the company not for the consumer wanting the latest and greatest.
Would love to see and updated budget build off with this new Deadbolt. The are the best to get into the market with and crawls really well out of the box.
Smashing review Guv! Much enjoyed. Hope someone will make a "Phat Bolt" with the big mud wheels. I think the other colour shown is perhaps Mushed Peas Green? If Axial would make the blank pages of the manual into a real style maintainence record with Axial Approved stamps you can get at the dealer, it could be quite fun👍 Thank you very much, warm greetings from yes still, the nimh battery realm.
@@scalebuildersguild oh definitely! Even I was, but this is a solid platform for anyone that is looking to start in the world of rc at a pretty decent price range. So it kind of makes sense.
Always liked the look of the Deadbolt. I just hate the plastic links. Perhaps if this makes them sell off the old version cheaper, I’ll grab one and do a mild build for a loaner to let friends beat on.
With having started on the og 10 DB and selling it, I grabbed a 10.2 DB years ago and even still drive it when I can I would have loved to add a 10.3 to the stable. While I have my bronco and my version of an all out 10.2, the deadbolt makes for a very good loaner that can be learned on and beaten up by newbies.
Bought my dad a deadbolt last month, threw a set of pre-mounted hyrax g8s on it. It handily outcrawled my Base Camp. I was pleasantly surprised, it’s still a great platform. Something to be said for simplicity.
I don't own SCX 10 in any form, but would consider this one for its cost. I like the Deadbolt body as well. I think a version of this in the SCX 6 would be a good way to get into the 1/6th scale crawlers. Would love to see a Deadbolt body for the SCX 6.
For the money I would still buy a RedCat Gen 8ii. My Gen8ii, I added the factory light kit, replaced the stock esu and motor. Replaced it with a Hobbywong 1080 and Holmes Hobby Crawlmaster 13t brushed can on day of purchase. All under 550 Canadian. The crawling performance and speed modulation is fantastic, running it on 3s lipos. Axial, Traxxas, and Team Associates entry rtr crawlers are way overpriced with what you get. Especially when Redcat and other Chinese brands are making good performance 1 10th scale crawlers for 75 to 120 US cheaper then the major brand offerings. These brands really need drop the pricing on there basic entry RTRs, especially when you can buy Axials and Traxxas for 100 to 150 off during Christmas sales or manufacture rebate flash sales throughout the year. Proving that are overpricing them deliberately from the get go.
Price, Scout II body, inner fenders, and no body clips are the main selling points of the Gen8 V2. I can't wait for mine to be here, going to run it stock through the winter and go brushless next year.
@@scalebuildersguild I am not trying to convince anyone that redcat is better. It's definitely not without its faults and lack of features. A bit less refind in crawling performance compared to other entry 1 10th crawlers. Just pointing out that for the price it comes in at, it has a beautiful licenced body and tires, inner fender wells. You get alot more visual complete scale truck then a entry axial or traxxas tr4. Yes they might perform better but leave alot lacking in bang for buck in my opinion. Yet if I wanted to spend around a grand plus on a crawler. It wouldn't be axial or traxxax. I would get a vanquish kit and build it to my liking.
I love the SCX10II, tried, tested and fantastic base to create some truly amazing builds. And on a massive plus, at least its not another 24. I'll definitely picking one up for my kid to run.
The deadbolt will always be a amazing truck. Like you said, it has so much potential. I agree with what you said though. For the cost difference... just give us metal links, and universal axle shafts. I'd pay the extra. But... All in all. We all love the deadbolt. Great review sir. Haha.
When I was blessed with the opportunity to crawl for the first time it was with a Deadbolt after that I bought the Axial SCX10 2 Blazer ... thinking bout the getting the whole Axial line.
Like many have said this was not what I was expecting, but I am glad to see the SCX10.2 platform sticking around. I have 2 SCCX10 the JK and the Honcho and they are heavily modded and perform very well but have tons invested. That being said I also have 2 scx10.2 XJ one kit and one rtr these have by far been the most capable SCX platform I have used. These for the price and performance have far beat my SCX10's and also my SCX10.3 Wrangler. I do love the Wrangler 10.3 but the initial price is a bit steep when you can get a good 10.2 and put $200 into upgrades and making your own. Now I would like to try a SCX10.3 Basecamp for comparison, but I think I will still prefer the SCX10.2 platforms. Their simplicity and price point just make them better in my opinion and much better aftermarket support.
I like it!! Nice and simple, which is something that really connects the driver and crawler. I reckon it would have been tricky for them to build this as it was created when Hobbico was just about to go under.
I finally got my first 1/10 scale truck about a month ago and chose the basecamp due to portals and the fact that the gen 2 is being fazed out slowly but this makes me thing otherwise….
The scx10ii is a great option. I was very disappointed at the scx10iii's performance, although it obviously is the more attractive of the two. I just bought 2 of these front axles, a 3 gear trans and I'm putting them onto a 4ws capra cage. I can't wait to see what it can do.
My almost bone stock RTR SCX10 II backup rig works great with just good shocks and tires and yesterday performed great on hard lines against similarly modded Element Trail Walker and TRX Sport. Its also a great base for a build where you are going to modify a lot.
I was really hoping that due to the increase in price it would have been "upgraded" on something if not a few things. I am glad I watched this video before going into purchasing one. I don't have a hobby shop locally so I do a lot of my purchases online blind to seeing before buying. I really appreciate the honest reviews and information you provide to hobbyist like myself.
The more options the better of course however... being someone who loves their 10.2... i think the 10.3 + TRx4 are better starter options.. even for someone new to the hobby. I'd say save a little more money and it'll be worth it. 10.2 drawbacks in my opinion: - Stock gears / shimming the ar44 - shocks, leaky.. leaky leaky... Most do but.. so far after 5 kits..... so far trx4 gts and axial 10.3 shocks have been great. - plastic panhard Nice video! good job.
As far as being dependable and durability of a rc the cxt10 ll is one of the best I love mine iv had no problems with it other than striping the steering horn out my fault it took a 30 foot tumble highly recommended
I have the original gen one SCX10 Deadbolt and it's still box stock and going strong. I would say buy one and enjoy one of the best proven platforms out there.
Axial scx10 2 deadbolt is a very good brand and trail/rock crawler with a few upgrades ,the company Axial is the founder of trail/rock crawlers of the world,i like all there rc cars the only thing in all these years the still swing the ball in the mist with the gap between body and front bumper that,s all my opinion greetings from belgium
A deadbolt is now 340. For 300 you can get the new element for 10 less the gen8 v2 for 30 more a trx4 sport for 50 more the base camp. The deadbolt needs to drop to 250 to even be considered
When I saw a blurb about a new Deadbolt this morning, I was a bit excited; it's something I'd consider starting my kids off on. That said, between the price and the sheer amount of plastic on it, it's hard to call it a good deal for me. $50 more gets you metal links and a more modern platform in the Base Camp, which considering the time and money involved in upgrading probably makes it worth it unless you really, really want a straight axle rig.
IF YOU GET IT WITH THE 50% OFF COUPON IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH IT FOR THE KIDS OR A LOANER. FOR $340? NOT SO MUCH. I WOULD BUY A BASECAMP OVER THIS FOR $30 MORE.
Amazed to see that Axial thinks plastic links are acceptable in 2022. Even at that price point. Edit: Just saw they went back to dogbones too, amazing.
It's still the same reliable truck a starter rig should be. My problem is that Axial has done revisions to other chassis without publicizing it. This has nothing new, just "updated" (relabeled electronics) electronics. Yet the price went up by $30 USD after it already had an increase this year. The honcho left the market at 349.99 and this is only $10 short of that. The 10.2 platform is my favorite, but this should've been moved to the 10.3 line for a refresh.
Matt please do a build on this truck . I bought one of the green ones . I can’t get any inspiration on the build tho . A little assistance in the form of a vid series would be awesome !!! Thanks for all you do Matt
I’m really happy to see axial keeping the SCX10 II current. In my opinion, the SCX10 II is still superior to the SCX10 III, so I’m hopeful that this is a sign that the SCX10 II is here to stay.
YOU SEEM TO HAVE EXPERIENCE SO, WHY DO YOU FEEL THAT THE SCX10ii IS SUPERIOR? I ONLY JUST GOT AN AXIAL SCX10ii AND ONLY BECAUSE IT WAS $200 ON THE SPRING SALE. SO FAR I LIKE IT. JUST STARTED MODS.
Well, I must start by saying that this is my opinion, and people have different opinions. In my opinion, the SCX10 III is a better driving truck out of the box, but with similar upgrades, the 10 II will outperform the 10 III. I think that the 3 gear is a better transmission than the 10 III trans and the 5 gear in the base camp because it puts the motor lower, has bigger bearings, and is has far more upgrades available. I’m more of a straight axle fan, but I will say that I do like the AR45 straight axles more than the AR44, the offset pumpkin is very nice. But in my opinion, the SCX10 II is a overall better truck because 1: it’s less complicated and a lot lighter, 2: I think the trans is better, 3: there’s a lot more aftermarket support, and 4: in my experience a SCX10 II with a few upgrades will outperform a SCX10 III with similar upgrades. All a 10 II really needs is shocks, links (if they are plastic, if the are metal, no real need), and wheels/tires. Shocks make an enormous difference on a 10 II. Plus, I just like the “feel” of a SCX10 II.
Great truck at a great price. Not many a truck I have seen that can out perform it out of the box. Straight axle guy here. The new vanquish Straight axle kit is a winner too In My book
I have been playing with getting a 1/10 Deadbolt after having built up an SCX24 Deadbolt. It would still be fun to have, but (insert my Axial RTR rant), a kit is the only way I could be pulled into this, as Matt inferred it's a basic RC and my flavor has matured to something more advanced. Still would be a fun build to learn with for sure.
Would it be rude of me to mention the VS4-10 new release is only about $ 70.00 more, and a budget combo or a Fusion would be well worth the extra money. Granted a Servo and RX/TX is also needed so not really an apples to apples comparison, but a much better investment in the long run. Also gets you past the RTR learning curve that might leave a burning feeling. ✌
Although it's only $50 cheaper than the Base Camp, I think that $50 savings should immediately go into "scale" upgrades! I'd love to see a "Budget Scale Build" video series of this truck, where every upgrade component costs less than $45 or $50. (For example: I just bought some metal beadlocks WITH really sticky tires for only $39 plus tax for the set of four, on Amazon. And maybe find a $50 "scale" body (magnet mounted so no body clips are seen). I think a "Budget Scale Build" series could be really fun!
To be brutally honest, I will go and pick up the Redcat Gen8 Scout every day over this truck, the low price, scale details, licensed body, clipless body, fully tubbed, true beadlocks, portal axles, etc. make it much more worth the money spent 🤷♂️
Bought this one yesterday and done everything I wanted it todo out of the box out performed my 2 buddy’s trx4 sport and all the other $500 dollar plus traxxas crawlers they all said “they got ripped off buying traxxas”
So for an additional $50 you can by the next level platform and save yourself some time and headaches in having to upgrade a whole bunch of plastics? Makes a lotta dollars into common cents. Excellente review.
299$ would work The Deadbolt is really cool there’s some killer builds out there for shore.. I can’t wait to see what axial dose for a kit Version soon .. like the UMG 10II or the Jeep xj .. Kit Version 6x6 would be a where the money 💰 is UMG 🤛.
New to the hobby. I picked up the rtr Capra 1.9 on sale for 299 instead of this truck... I know the capra is a totally different but I want to make sure I made the right decision lol
Ouch, I suppose I live in that decade. But, in my defense, I was stationed overseas in a pretty inhospitable place for a number of years. I never wanted the hassle of mailing LiPos to my, uh, location. As a result, I’m behind the power curve on power. See what I did there? I guess I’ll have to take the plunge though. Thanks for this great video.
- It is great to see Axial "whatever" is continuing "something"...more specifically & seriously, the SCX10 II **"PARTS"** !!!! 😉👍 ...😆 But for real, it is good to see, cuz I own a (KIT) version, so that means I can "still" get parts !!!!! 😁👌
i would say lets see a new build, but set a restriction like only using amazon or something to see if you can build something that would fit in a class 2 or 3. hey it might give some people some ideas on how to build there. hey plus on the bright side it gets you paid lol
I have an SCX 10 deadbolt the first bright line green. I loved it. I stripped the screw and it is getting old. I was thinking of getting the SEX 10 too and using my upgrades for that. Do you think I should do that or save my money for the four wheel steering Capra?, which is $550 cause I wanna collection kind of one of each. But I miss my deadbolt. I have a Traxxas TRX4 bronco and love it! And I also bought a emo 6 x 6 and that’s pretty good but needs more power in my opinion specially in reverse lol. But back to the SCX 10 original replace all the parts and time and money that I had in it and put it in the SX 10 two or take the money and buy the four wheel steering axle cap, which I would have to invest into the small batteries after. It sucks cause I don’t make a lot of money and it really hurts me to see my first rock crawler sitting there with all these parts. I need to get that strip screw out and replace all the electronics and buy a Capra that’s what I thinklol what do you think? Sorry for the handful
Doing the price to $250US honestly would have been the best okay here. Start with an SCX24, nice to the deadbolt, then move to the 10.3. it would have created an in-brand hobby path. At this price, though, it completes with their top-of-stack 1:10 product.
PROJECT ULTIMATE CLASS 1 AND CLASS 2 "OVERTIME". I WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU AND YOUR DIGGA (GERMAN SLANG FOR BRO) GO HEAD TO HEAD ON A "BUDGET BUILD" SERIES!!! BE COOL TO SEE YOU TWO BUILD A COURSE AS CLOSE TO A CLONE AT EACH LOCATION AND COMPETE ON THE "SAME" LINES AGAINST EACHOTHER!!! MY OPINION ON THE "NEW RELEASE" THOUGH, THIS JUST FEELS LIKE A WAY TO "RELEASE" A PRODUCT THAT IS ALREADY AROUND WITH A DIFFERENT COLOR BODY AND CALL IT NEW. THEY ARE CHARGING $20 MORE THAN ORIGINAL'S MSRP. I JUST PICKED UP THE OLD GREEN UNIT FOR $200 IN THE SPRING SALE. I SEE A COUPON FOR "PRE-ORDER" THAT IS 50% OFF MAKING THIS $170. THAT WOULD BE WORTH IT THOUGH FOR SURE! MAYBE AXIAL SHOULD RELEASE A SCX10ii WITH 2.2 TIRES FOR THE TRAIL? LET'S START THE 2.2 WARS!!!
Although I would have loved to see universal shafts, I am ok with the plastic links. Mainly because it seems like everyone always replaces their links weather they came with metal or plastic. Kinda like how people ask for upgrade shocks on element and trx4 rigs even tho the stock shocks are some of the best.
Maybe strange because i am watching SBG from a long time now, the intro SBG is blue/white/red and the sign at the wall is red/white/blue, hmmmmm🤔 feels like da Vinci code
What's the difference between this and the outgoing deadbolt? Which is still in stock at my local hs for the same price as this "new" version. Cheers keep up the great content 🇨🇦
Great review. But in my humble opinion, you’re better off spending $150 more and get a Vanquish VS10-4 RTR. You get a lot more vehicle and remote for that matter in the difference in price. As much as I love Axial, Vanquish is setting the standard on what a solid RTR should be without breaking the bank.
The axial site specifically says under key features "Universal joint axles allowing up to 45° of steering". I wonder if you got a pre-production one without, or they have bad info on the site. Either way the Basecamp is a far better value for the $50 increase. The body is probably all that's keeping it from being under $300.
But the Basecamp is a 10-3. Matt was being nice when he mentioned the 10-3, but they suck bad. Axial is going to have to back pedal a bit if they want to hang on to the top spot in crawling. No one is going to base a million dollar industry around the 10-3. There is already a multi company support system in place, and the 10-2 has been proven to be the baseline the most competitive stuff is built from. In 21 they about gave up to Associated with the Ecto. I like to win comps. I don't like flipping my incapable truck back onto its wheels. So my class 2 and my class 3 are 10-2 based. And will continue to be. Be well, and have fun.
@@brianellison3525 to be honest, I'm not in the market for either, just looking at the sum of the parts. Basecamp: Portal axles (maybe good, maybe not), metal links, all metal trans gears, metal shocks. Deadbolt: none of that. Matt said his had 1 metal steering link, but the stock photos on their site don't show that. Stock photos also show the dogbone shafts that contradict the line I quoted before. I presume they wanted to hit a number that was lower than all the other entry level crawlers. They did that, and with an arguably better looking body than the Basecamp. They'll likely sell tons of upgrade parts as well since they don't come with any of them stock. In that regard it's genius.
It seems crazy to me to improve the line to .3 and build on .2. If people are excited about brand new .2 then there is no wonder .3 support is weak. I should build parts for .1 and really blow guys away.
Nice Axial get back to basics with a good entry level Truck but a bit to expensive versus the base camp. With a price less 100 bucks versus the base camp it makes more sense.Maybe Axial make the base camp more expensive to sell more SCX 10 ll.
I just got a brand new SCX10ii Deadbolt. I started driving it today and noticed that both front and rear driveshafts have a good wobble to them. The wobble goes from the output universal joints at the transmission all the way down the shafts. Has anyone else had this issue with the SCX10ii? I have an original SCX10 that never had this problem. Update, I looked closer and the wobble is coming from the transmission outputs, it's not a problem with the actual plastic shafts. The bearings are brand new so I wonder what's causing it? Maybe an aftermarket, allow trans case would fix it.
Not SCX10 III based like I was expecting, but I'm happy to see that the SCX10 II and straight axles are sticking around
Sounds like you're waiting for a new RBK with 10iii parts and straight axles. I know I am. Fingers crossed.

I find it awesome the Deadbolt is back again with new colors and updates, my first crawler was the lime deadbolt from a few years back
Cool!
I’m excited for this!! I really prefer the basic simplicity of the scx10ii over the 10.3 and the overall custom build support not just bolt on parts.

Bought my dad a deadbolt last month, threw a set of pre-mounted hyrax g8s on it. It handily outcrawled my Base Camp. I was pleasantly surprised, it’s still a great platform. Something to be said for simplicity.
That's great to hear! Thanks for watching!
@@mattymoe2239 you won't regret the purchase, plus Redcat, Treal, and Club 5 racing make alot of good upgrades for it.
I love the Club5 sliders, 73 grill, and mudflaps. Treal has some awesome weights.
I'm not a huge fan of the RedCat, but I appreciate your suggestions! Thanks for watching!
I'll definitely picking one up for my kid to run.
my favourite thing about it being scx10 ii based is that it guarantees stock scx10 ii parts availability for a long time into the future
Of COURSE it’s project worthy…selfishly I’ll take any opportunity to encourage you to entertain me with another awesome project! 👍✌️
The deadbolt will always be a amazing truck. Like you said, it has so much potential.
I agree with what you said though.
For the cost difference... just give us metal links, and universal axle shafts.
I'd pay the extra.
But...
All in all.
We all love the deadbolt.
Great review sir.
Haha.
Thanks man! Have a great day!
Great review as always. 👍🏼
I feel like this was a big let down. Seems like steps in the wrong direction.
Thanks for watching!
My fav is a redcat gen 8. They are big and make a huge deal on the trails. I don't have a dedicated crawler so I'd love win one
Solid review, Matt. An honest appraisal and reasonable explanation for what, at first blush, seems like a really weird move on Axial's part. 👍👍
Cool! Hope it works out for you!
My almost bone stock RTR SCX10 II backup rig works great with just good shocks and tires and yesterday performed great on hard lines against similarly modded Element Trail Walker and TRX Sport. Its also a great base for a build where you are going to modify a lot.
Very cool!
Glad I could help with my reviews and save you some $! Thanks for watching!
The more options the better of course however... being someone who loves their 10.2... i think the 10.3 + TRx4 are better starter options.. even for someone new to the hobby. I'd say save a little more money and it'll be worth it.
10.2 drawbacks in my opinion:
- Stock gears / shimming the ar44
- shocks, leaky.. leaky leaky... Most do but.. so far after 5 kits..... so far trx4 gts and axial 10.3 shocks have been great.
- plastic panhard
Nice video!
Good to hear!
Yes, please do a project!!! Love projects!
I was considering the SCX10II as my first 1/10 scale. Ultimately I went with the Gatekeeper kit though.
Solid choice !I hope you like it!
@@scalebuildersguild it’s a blast; I love it.
A deadbolt is now 340. For 300 you can get the new element for 10 less the gen8 v2 for 30 more a trx4 sport for 50 more the base camp. The deadbolt needs to drop to 250 to even be considered
Windex works wonders releasing the glue on the tires. I saved some canyon trails that way.
I like the Basecamp for a starter truck...definitely a solid choice. Thanks for watching!
Thank goodness Axial brought these back, I would much rather have a deadbolt over a base camp any day.
Scx10ii was axial’s best truck ever released in my opinion
It's still the same reliable truck a starter rig should be. My problem is that Axial has done revisions to other chassis without publicizing it. This has nothing new, just "updated" (relabeled electronics) electronics. Yet the price went up by $30 USD after it already had an increase this year. The honcho left the market at 349.99 and this is only $10 short of that.
The 10.2 platform is my favorite, but this should've been moved to the 10.3 line for a refresh.
Would it really be a horizon product if they didnt do a rerelease and just change the rtr electronics barely and raise the price again?
😬
Matt please do a build on this truck . I bought one of the green ones . I can’t get any inspiration on the build tho . A little assistance in the form of a vid series would be awesome !!! Thanks for all you do Matt
👍 Thanks for watching!
I love my neon green Deadbolt. A great entry level crawler.
Definitely!
These are still great options even in 2022
Great truck at a great price. Not many a truck I have seen that can out perform it out of the box. Straight axle guy here. The new vanquish Straight axle kit is a winner too In My book
Thanks for watching!
Cool the SCX10-2 is still very much alive. 👍🏼👍🏼
You should do a cheap upgrade build on this new deadbolt. Good video man!
Thanks! I might do so, just depends on timing.
This vehicle is big fun . Mods are cheap and easy to do with big results . I had to get a C10 and I'll probably get a jeep .
Cool idea, thanks!
@@scalebuildersguild Welcome! I love the channel and your builds!
To be brutally honest, I will go and pick up the Redcat Gen8 Scout every day over this truck, the low price, scale details, licensed body, clipless body, fully tubbed, true beadlocks, portal axles, etc. make it much more worth the money spent 🤷♂️
It's nice to have choices. Thanks for watching!
Bought this one yesterday and done everything I wanted it todo out of the box out performed my 2 buddy’s trx4 sport and all the other $500 dollar plus traxxas crawlers they all said “they got ripped off buying traxxas”
Glad to hear it! Have fun!
What would be the best replacement for the stock dog bones that axial puts in these rtrs?
Check out Locked Up RC
Axial makes good ones,
RC4WD makes cheap ones, Vanquish makes excellent ones.
So for an additional $50 you can by the next level platform and save yourself some time and headaches in having to upgrade a whole bunch of plastics? Makes a lotta dollars into common cents. Excellente review.
Thanks for watching!
Scx10ii still one of the hobbies favorite.
Matt is right!! Better to choose 10.3 base
I like this truck. My deadbolt is my favorite scx24 (also it's the only one working 🤔) y'all have a badass day 🤘
Glad you like it and have a badass day yourself 🤘
299$ would work The Deadbolt is really cool there’s some killer builds out there for shore.. I can’t wait to see what axial dose for a kit Version soon .. like the UMG 10II or the Jeep xj .. Kit Version 6x6 would be a where the money 💰 is UMG 🤛.
Always enjoy your builds Bro. Dive in an build!
I hope to start soon!
for me i can try to use the Deadbolt as a rock bouncer, they in my opinion a similarity to rock bouncer, and with 40 mph as max
New to the hobby. I picked up the rtr Capra 1.9 on sale for 299 instead of this truck... I know the capra is a totally different but I want to make sure I made the right decision lol
If you’re happy, then that’s the best decision!
I love it great release! Blue looks awesome in the deadbolt!
I think so too!
Thanks for watching! And yes... I caught the joke 😂. Hopefully, you're located in a much more hospitable place now!
I think the scx10ii is still popular and relevant because it has straight axles instead of portals.
- It is great to see Axial "whatever" is continuing "something"...more specifically & seriously, the SCX10 II **"PARTS"** !!!! 😉👍 ...😆
But for real, it is good to see, cuz I own a (KIT) version, so that means I can "still" get parts !!!!! 😁👌
Definitely!
i would say lets see a new build, but set a restriction like only using amazon or something to see if you can build something that would fit in a class 2 or 3. hey it might give some people some ideas on how to build there. hey plus on the bright side it gets you paid lol
Thanks for the suggestions and for watching!
Love the blue, always hated the olive one, should have put better axles and metal links.
Doing the price to $250US honestly would have been the best okay here. Start with an SCX24, nice to the deadbolt, then move to the 10.3. it would have created an in-brand hobby path. At this price, though, it completes with their top-of-stack 1:10 product.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your comment!
LET'S START THE 2.2 WARS!!!
okay I thought I was insane when I saw this on my newsletter from horizon hobby
Although I would have loved to see universal shafts, I am ok with the plastic links. Mainly because it seems like everyone always replaces their links weather they came with metal or plastic. Kinda like how people ask for upgrade shocks on element and trx4 rigs even tho the stock shocks are some of the best.
Fair enough! That's an interesting perspective, so much appreciated. Thanks for watching!
Excellent review as always. Truck looks great but like you very surprised by the high price compared to the Base Camp.
I was definitely surprised, but what do I know... I don't do the costing.
The only difference is revised electrics. Thanks for watching!
And now I feel old, since I have a room full of original Scx10's...
And vaterra ascenders, for some reason...🤠
Great review. But in my humble opinion, you’re better off spending $150 more and get a Vanquish VS10-4 RTR. You get a lot more vehicle and remote for that matter in the difference in price. As much as I love Axial, Vanquish is setting the standard on what a solid RTR should be without breaking the bank.
Obviously, but this review came out months before the VS4-10 RTR existed!
Another great review. Well done, fine sir! 👍✌️
Thank you kindly and glad you enjoyed it!
Ive got two scx24, I want so bad a scx10, base camp seem a good deal but expensive 600$ + canadian, this one looks really nice! i want one!
I prefer the Basecamp, but that's just me.
@@scalebuildersguild thx for the info!
Excellent review! But does it still come with the Steer Horns in the extra parts bag?
Ha! Those days are over. Thanks for watching!
Yes I love my 1:9 Wraith! Matt I love all your videos brother!
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
I think it looks more like a fresh un ripe banana sir. Kidding am liking the blue. And the deadbolt is full of free mods
Great review Matt!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
