About Off-Track Family:
We are a family of 4 with 2 children. We are overlanding for years now on wild tracks in our Land Rover Defender 110.
Our expedition vehicle is a Land Rover Defender camper conversion. Some people say it’s more like a bug out vehicle but for us it’s the perfect 4wd off-road tourer with best 4x4 camping set-up.
We bought this 4wd rig brand-new in 2009 and the engine is the 2.4tdci Puma version. We transformed it time after time in a real overland 4x4 touring camper and it’s now a perfect off-grid truck for wild camping, bivouac or simply as an overlanding Defender.
We love enjoying time in nature and exploring the world as a family.

BACK DOOR LOCK REPAIR | Defender central locking malfunction | Land Rover Defender | repair series - Авто/Мото
Thanks for taking the time to publish this vid! now I can look for a likely easy fix rather than the nightmare of replacing the solenoid! great job, simple and very well demonstrated, especially the soldering tips! Thanks Family, as Landy newbie who is very enthusiastic and very very inexperienced, this is part of what being in the landy community feels like and its great! Take care guys, I've just subscribed!
Thanks for your nice comment. That's exactly why we created this chanel! Don't hesitate to ask if you have some questions!
I have the exact issue on the same door on my Puma! Thanks for the video
Very happy it helps to solve the issue!
Good to see the demonstration of the correct way to solder/weld the wires so they do not separate. Not many people do that anymore!
Always best to show the correct way to do it :)
What a great vid , and so clear. il know what to do when mine packs in. Which it will one day lol. Thank you.
Thanks! Happy it can help one day :)
I think you mean solder rather than weld
Thanks for a great video as always
Thanks! Haha certainly! Obviously my english isn't the best and I often don't use the right words :)
Literally, every problem I have with my Defender, is on this channel haha really appreciate the videos they have been enormously helpful :D Love how much care you put on your Defender, thank you and keep up the great work!
Thanks a lot for your message & very happy it helps! :)
Very useful as think my rear door starting to do this too !
Thanks! And good luck!
How did you know my rear drivers side door lock didn't work? Ha! Thanks for the video - you have inspired me to finally fix it!
Good luck for your repair! Hope this video will help you!
Thanks for this. Fault fixed!
Great! Thanks for letting us know this video helped 👍
Excellent vid. Exact same problem on exact same door
Thanks! Did you fix it?
Great to see the steps. However, I'd avoid soldering joints in vehicle electrics as they may break due to vibration. And you've put a solder joint right inside the tube where stress will be greatest? Joints should be outside the moving part. I'd recommend a heat shrink crimp connector. These can also be used on the road without the need for a soldering iron.
Hi! Yes you can also use heat shrink connectors if you prefer it. But for us we prefer soldering and we always have soldering iron in the car. Thanks for your comment!
@@offtrackfamily So, NOW our cable is broken, too, same door :-) Thanks again for the video. I think I will do the other side as well. Can't be long before it also breaks :-)
👍😁
Thanks :)
