I put hundreds of hours in dungeon of the endless, when I played this one I was not impressed. A lot of the strategy and tower defense aspects are gone and instead it's more focused on running and gunning. The rooms are so big that monsters will often walk right past turrets without even getting in range so you can't rely on them to handle areas by themselves. On top of that monsters focus the turrets and destroy them so no matter what players have to run around plugging gaps and repairing things constantly there is no "tower defense" as they barely last long without a player around. Imo Dungeon of the Endless is better. You get swarms of ennemies but it relies much more on you lighting the right rooms to control the spawn and focusing defense (where turrets don't get destroyed). It's much more of a real tower defense where you plan first, trigger the wave, and sit through hoping you survive. While this new one is more of running around in panick it seems

Sure they improved on the original with meta progression, new gameplay elements, glad it doesn't feel too moba in its controls (what I was the most afraid of from trailers) but they also removed what I loved the most about the original: the pixel art and the defense strategy. Pixel art is subjective but it's one thing I very much love and it was done beautifully with great animations and lighting, you really felt the dangers and gloom of an underground dungeon. Now they moved from the underground to a space station, less scary and makes less sense as to why it goes on for so long, and it looks like your typical run of the mill 3D graphism game. Then, as you mentioned, you can sometimes get screwed by the random floor plan, but at least you had much moor control over it in the original as you could choose which rooms to light, securing an entire front and focusing your defense elsewhere, and changing it whenever you needed. Here I don't quite see how it would work on bigger levels, if lighting a room doesn't even stop the spawning, you are way more screwed by an unlucky floor plan. Looks like a good game but missing what made Dungeon of the Endless a GREAT game imo. Finally, first time I hear of that Denuvo thing, I'll have to do my research but if it's as bad as people make it sound like, it will unfortunately tip the balance towards a no-go for me. That's bad. I'll wait for a few years, until they remove Denuvo, if they do it at all.
ThankYou SirSplatt
Dust isn't super important!?! I'm known for two things in strategy games, building starbases (Sins of a solar empire), and getting dust!!! Give dust! GIVE (Started when I was playing broken lords for endless legend)
Same, loved the Broken Lords so much. Big shame dust is basically useless here
Denuvo is so shity that I will wait and buy this game only when Denuvo is deleted.
I liked the Endless games, but I really wish they would return to 4X, those were really killer.
Is Denuvo and DRM just a pc thing or is it on consoles too? If it is on consoles too how does it affect the game/console?
Strangely it kind reminds me of Spiral Knight
Dakka dakka dakka! 😃
lol, you mention the MAC-11, did you Flannel Daddy's latest vid?
Loved the original game on PC & iOS
Ok, I know that Denuvo DRM Anti-tamper hurts performance. But is their anti-cheat system the same, too? Everytime I search about it on youtube, people are actually talking about the DRM thing. Is it so bad? I'm being honest. I really don't know.
How does the accumulation and spending of points work in multiplayer? Is it a shared pool, or does each player earn their own?
"The name is Dakka. Max Dakka." 😉
The only thing I really like about the endless games is FIDS being the system in all of them
Denuvo is an instant no for me. What a way to spit in our faces.
Well...shit. I bought the pre-release before finishing the vid and finding out about Denuvo being stuffed into the game. Might return it.
"Nothing in this game happens until you open a door" - that is something that reminds me of playing Munchkin every time.
And as it is with Munchkin, I often loose and still return :)
i see they still have the wave mechanic
i remember seeing that food industry and science icon from humankind same dev ?
Soooo looking forward to that game.
Denuvo? More like "Smaller-game-dead-on-arrival-o"
Hope the networking code is better than in "Dungeon of the Endless" cause damn i tried getting on recently to show a friend, we could get past 3rd floor without disconnections and crashes ruining all the fun out of it!
Does Denuvo affect the console versions?
Pirating time it is then!
Refunded
We also like the daka, but the game is to quiet for us to hear
say it with me... Alter, alternate, alternative.. ok now say alt key
Thanks another cool game
Looks dope.
I really want to Play Endless Dungeon on Mobile, however it's riddled with crashes making it unplayable!
This game looks pretty good, and endless fun. :)
Dungeon of the endless is also on android
