I love when a song is so good it melts Sifa’s poker face 🫠
This is one of my favorite Wainwright tracks, but it isn't talked about by listeners much. For some reason it has always reminded me of John Lennon songs like "Beautiful Boy" and "Look at Me". The circular progression is great.
I love it because his voice is so smooth and creamy, just like the music.
His range is crazy and he hits each descending note so quickly, spanning octaves

I think it’s just that he sounds like he sings so effortlessly. His cadence is so suave! Reminds me of the old crooners, like Sinatra
We're on the edge of Asia, Turkey and Egypt are near neighbours. Due to the Ottoman empire we share a lot in common, including the music. You are right though, the violin vibe was somewhere between Egypt and China on the silk road. Greek men on the other hand, lucky escape, Rufus. (Joking)

A beautiful well crafted song. I am not familiar with Rufus. His voice on this mix reminds me of Gerry Rafferty.
