As an Italian I love the song (Sabaton are amazing) and as an Italian, we love our Greek brothers , una faccia una razza, the war had to be fought at the same side, but we know how generals and dictators work, and, the Greeks actually showed that numbers aren't always the key point, if the Germans came and managed to help the Italians it's just because the Greeks at that point had no supplies or even ammunitions to hold, but yet the Germans found hell at Crete. Greeks are heroes! We love you guys~

germany joined because britain had started ussing athens air base to bomb romainian oil lines harming germanies invasion of rusia as it cut off oil to germany this forced hitler to need to move on greece and help italy, italy attacking greece opened this weakness up in the axis attack which is one of many reasons the war went the way it did.
italy attacking greece opened up a new front for the British empire to attack at the axis weakening the axis
if italy didn't attack greece Britain would of been standing alone waiting for America to get attacked britain could of tried drag portugal in due to the anglo portugues alliance but britain deliberatly asked portugal to sdtay neutural as a compromise with spain to keep spain from joining the axis

The first allied victory was the Greek victory against the Italians, they were pushed back to Albania and half of the Albanian territory was liberated. Then the nazis attacked, a superior force, and the Metaxas line tried to hold them until our forces retreat from Albania and take the defensive again. The blitzkrieg was again successful but not in a scale of Poland and France. Then Crete became the cemetery for the elite paratroopers of the nazis and one of the main causes why the nazis lost the war with the soviet union because of the delay in Greece.
    Thank you Greece!! 🇬🇷

One of the best things about Sabaton is that they tell history, the way it really happened. But they are always looking for the human element in war. Sure, there are good guys and there are bad guys - depending on which side you ask - but at the end of the day, it's all just people... people who have stories. They look for those stories to help bring out the human element, rather than to focus on the war itself.
Here are just a couple of my favorites by Sabaton. The first honors the Russian female bomber pilots, and the second is about the famous German ace, Red Baron.

apparently, from looking at the history of the two, Metaxas was far less dickish.

Him being a dictator is irrelevant to his commendable handling of ww2 Hellenic affairs. By Hellenic politics standards should we had anyone from the "metapolitefsi" era and afterwards we would be 101% doomed and even internationally Axis would have survived for a longer time even if just a little.

Not all dictators are bad, the word "dictator" is only seen as bad because of people like Adolf Hitler, it is meant to scare you.

@@bouss1 Metaxas was a nationalist. Even if he liked Germany at that time, his beliefs commanded him to fight back. The funny thing is that we already have the dialog between the Italian ambassador Emanuel Gratsi and the Greek Governor Metaxa which states exactly what the thoughts of Metaxas were. The dialog comes from the biography of the ambassador himself so that we don't really have retarded accusations from the far left. The Greek people were patriots and of course they would want to defend their land yet they didn't force him to do so. Also for the komounismeno above, Zachariadis, the leader of the communist party in Greece condemned the defiance of Greece as imperialistic expansion(!?!?!) of Greece and when the Germans came they freed them from their prison that the Greek state had them as traitors. The "greek" communists entered the war only after the Axis attacked the soviets...
