This is the best and clearest of all the documentary’s I’ve seen. I love that fact that you reached the summit in day light hrs. We could actually see. Thank You . 💕
I'm a climber so it was natural for this to pop up in my feed yesterday. I saw it was almost 5 hours long and figured nah, can't be bothered watching that. Decided to just put it on at the start while I cooked some lunch and then 5 hours later I had watched the whole thing. This is probably the best documentation of a climb up Everest I've seen and it's great viewing for anyone contemplating tackling a Himalayan peak with a mountaineering company. Congrats on a successful and safe summit.
Or for someone hooked by Krakauer’s book ´Into Thin Air’ when it was first published and so glad youtube has these videos. Ryan should be nominated for Best Documentary or whatever category this film is.
Not sure id call it safe. So many dangerous aspects to climbing Everest and he definitely risked his life at nearly every point of that journey. Especially the ice falls.
That sunrise on day 40 just before summit is truly something to behold. Ryan, its extremely rare and difficult to find RUclipsrs such as yourself. From your past videos to this one, your nothing but genuine, real, and authentic. There's no bullshit or being extra/exaggerated enthusiasm, just the natural, raw content itself. This is the first video from your channel that I watched and I enjoyed because I love hiking myself! Keep doing what your doing, stay humble, and grounded- the rest will come your way throughout life. Congrats on hiking the tallest mountain on planet Earth and wish you success! PS: hope you do more mountain climbing, I think the next one should be Mt. Fuji for you (its a simple one but still a challenge nonetheless!)
When i clicked on this I said "No way Ill watch this whole thing but lets see" here I am at the end of the 4 hours video feeling super inspired to go climb a mountain right now in 106 degree heat. Congrats man, definitely inspirational.
Nepalese people are very brave. Two Nepalese friends were fishing here in Portugal. Both couldnt swim. A big wave came and threw one to the sea.The other immediatly jumped to try to save his friend, he counldnt swim!. Unfortunately both died. :(
I think that you are not you being honest because you are not probably Nepali, you play Brawl Stars and Roblox, and you look like a little child who wants attention and likes. If it's a father who is commenting, I keep my words but I'm 99% sure that you are making a lie.
If you play videogames, specially Brawl Stars and Roblox, have access to RUclips and Internet and only 2000 Nepalis have climbed mount everest, most of them are dead, and you can speak English. The possibilities of you commenting on this video and telling the truth are 0.000008% or 1 in 12.5 million aprox only in Nepal, based on my calculations. Or basically IMPOSSIBLE. So stfu.
Hi Ryan, I just can't believe you were 19 doing this climb. Not because it is very hard, but the way you talk and comment. There are a lot of 50 years old not so clever, intelligent, wise and friendly as you are. Thank you for sharing this and I am pretty confident, that you will have a very good, successful and even more extraordinary life ahead of you. I enjoyed every second of it. Greetings from Germany! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
I am nearly 64 years old. I am a US Military Veteran. I have traveled a bit of the world......but never "experienced" anything like this video. I think that since the climb is completed, I will "miss" you (if that makes any sense). I have experienced something with this video, that I will never forget. I thank you. I thank you for your courage, your filming of it, and your funny sense of humor. I will truly never forget this. Kind regards, M. in upstate New York.
Hey man you are really onto something with this honest and accurate depiction of climbing Everest. If you kept climbing other famous peaks with this same vlog style you’ll have a million subscribers in no time.
Million subs…. And die. I will never understand why people are doing this. Statistics are bad dying out there. I really like these mountains and Dokus about these peaks. But from my comfort home. But at least people fulfill their dreams.
19 year old kid climbs Mt Everest. I'm 45 and can barely get out of bed without my bones snap, cracking and popping. Great job young man and what an amazing video. Thank you for sharing
There is something that really sets this video above other climbing, hiking etc expedition videos. This young man does not extend the video with unnecessary daily details like breakfast, sleeping, drinking coffee, etc. He goes through one of the hardest, longest, most dangerous adventures one can accomplish and goes through it casually. Just shows what really matters in a brief and concise way. A very well edited 5 hours summary of a multi-week adventure.
Is their job to just keep climbing the Mount? Surely they don't have to do this all year around and they get some proper long breaks in between climbs, right? I also hope they get paid good cause they deserve it so much
Your enthusiasm, dedication, and humor are deeply inspiring to me. 9 years ago, I was considering at least the base camp trek, but then my health went south. I'm 63, so killing myself during the effort is a real thing LOL. My health has dramatically improved in the past few years, so after watching your stuff, I've started getting up much earlier and 'getting after it' as you say to build some serious resilience and strength. I'm planning the BC trek with my kids for next spring which is a direct result of watching your videos. Keep on being awesome Ryan!
Congratulations! I have been following Everest content since I was in high school (1984) and this is the best footage I have ever seen. You literally captured the experience of what it is like to be there. And clearly demonstrated how knowledgeable, trained and fit you need to be to attempt this climb.
I just want to thank you for this video, it's the next best thing to actually being there. I have seen countless videos related to Everest, and yours is by far the best! If you ever decide to climb another mountain such as K2 please don't hesitate to making another video like this one.
I've literally watched about 12 Everest documentaries and about the same amount of creators Everest videos and yours by far was the best. Thank you for sharing for those of us living vicariously through you 🙏✌️🕊️
I did the everest base camp trek in 2018 for charity, which was amazing and thought I'd watch the start of the video to reminisce. Ended up watching the full 5 hours and loved it. Kudos to you Ryan. A fantastic documentary and what an experience for you, especially at such a young age. I would love to see you take on other mountains and document it.
I put this on as background noise while I did some cleaning. I’m happy to say it took me a LOT longer to do my chores than it normally does because I was so enthralled with this vlog. Congratulations on your summit, Ryan!
That was incredible! When I saw that it was 5 hours long I didn't expect to be glued to my screen watching the whole thing through. What an excellent documentary you've made, and congratulations on the summit! Frankly, this has given me so much more visibility on Mount Everest than any "real" documentary I've seen before.
Best Everest doc I've ever seen. Just real content. Loved settling in for the full journey and not just snippets of the highlights. Excellent work man!
I’m a 31 year old father of 2 babies and I pray my children end up as articulate and interesting as you buddy! Man your parents and family must be amazing. Cause you’re no mistake!
This was the best. Ryan, you've inspired so many through sharing this incredible story/video. Started watching about 5 hours ago thinking I would skip parts - but instead enjoyed every minute. The whole 42 days really told the story of what an Everest summit expedition would be like. I now understand why people do this. Footage during the summit push was breath-taking. Thank you.
Thank you for taking all of us on your AMAZING JOURNEY! Like so many others have already stated, I watched every segment and am so happy that you made this compilation!! This is a wonderful video! Thank you very much!!!
This is not a vlog it’s a documentary. I am not a mountaineer, not even want to become one, but I got myself stuck to this video from the beginning to the end. Even got tired like I was there. Lol Amazing job. Congratulations!!
I have been fascinated with Mount Everest since I was a kid, but I have no desire to climb it. I have seen dozens of documentaries on it, and when I saw the length of this one, I thought "no way will that hold my attention, but at least it will be background noise while I work." Boy, was I wrong! I watched the whole thing and saw so much more than what I have ever seen in any documentary. Thank you for giving me this experience. I wish you well in your future endeavors, and I will cheer you on.
I just want to say, today this video popped up in my recommended. The last 3 years of my life have been full of heartbreak and pain. I’ve been searching for a mental challenge and achievement to hard reset my life at the age of 30 and today your video has done that. You’ve single handily had an impact that will carry me through the rest of my life with documenting your climb and sharing it with us. I’ve just committed to myself to climb Everest before the end of 2025. I just want to say thank you, you’ve changed a man’s life from Australia. And probably saved it.
Hey man, i know this may sound unfamiliar to you, but if you are looking for a mental challenge and a hard reset, i very dearly recommend fasting to you. Im a bodybuilder who ate food as a hobby and couldnt dream about going without food for 6 hours. Fasting has been one of the most wonderful experiences in my life and never have i felt more mental and emotional clarity than during those times. And im not even one of those hard fasters, i just do rolling 5 day fasts and thats it. Look into the amazing benefits of fasting and try it. It fits exactly what you are yearning for. Are you going to document your journey to everst summit?
exactly what I'd thought a 19 yo pov of climbing everest would be - Extremely light hearted, weather gods blessed your team and seemingly made it look easier than it looks. Congrats 👏 👏
This is without doubt, the best Everest doco - thank you Ryan for sharing this ... I watched from start to finish in one sitting - it was the next best thing to being there.
I don't normally post comments but I just had to to say that this was the most interesting Everest video I've ever seen. I had no idea the climb was such a long trip filled with different towns and sights along the way, I've only ever seen the final ascent. Thank you!
I'll never climb Mt. Everest in person as a 50 year old widow but thank you so much for taking me along in your vlog!!! Thank goodness you made it there and back again!!!
I am sorry for the text wall. I didn't intend for it to be one. Being disabled as I am, this is something I would never be able to experience or see. Thank you for this video. I love to see places I can never go to. Great job documenting your climb and congratulations for shutting down your PC and getting in shape like you did. I am so happy for you that you are able to make all the summits you have before this. Also for standing on, "The top of the world." The reason I am now in the shape I'm in put me in the hospital for many months. When I got home my dog jumped up on the couch I was laying on and pressed herself tight against me. She, "Rags"was so happy she was shaking and whimpering and so was i as I hugged and kissed her. I hope the reunion with your dog was something like that. Dogs are so amazing and so are you. P.S. I'm not fishing for sympathetic comments this is just how life has gone for me.
I was in hospital once and I had to get up by myself at night shortly after having a hip operation and being flat on my bed for 21 days previously. Just pulling myself up and getting into the wheelchair felt like climbing Mount Everest, even 20 years later, I still remember the feeling of achievement. So, I can appreciate the achievements that disabled people make every day in their daily life. Thoughts to all who have a daily struggle with their personal Everest.
Congrats and great job on the doc. No over dramatization on the narrative. You clearly prepared properly and impressed that you continued to film at the higher altitudes! Great job all around!!!
ABSOLUTELY EPIC, if you do nothing again in your whole life you will always have this, this is up there with going to the moon ! Didn’t think I was going to get through nearly 5 hours but damn glad I did, sincere congratulations young man, a hell of an achievement !!
I have never watched a RUclips video that exceeded 2 hours but I sat through this enthralled, loved your humor and charm too. Really well done and bravo on the climb
For over a decade I climbed with the best climbers in the world. While this video does not represent what true mountaineering is really like, It does show a side of climbing that is almost never showed. The everyday tasks a human being has to achieve just to get to the base of a route. A real person dealing with real situations. Great presentation. Muchas Gracias Ryan. Vaya con Dios.

Wow what a great video!! This is exactly what I’ve always been wanting to see from a Mt Everest expedition, from the very start to finish! You did a great job with this! Congrats on you accomplishment!
I’m preparing to climb Idaho’s Mt Borah in a few weeks as a middle aged man with my teenage daughter, I’m slightly worried about Chickenout Ridge, and this kid is jumping giant crevasses. Interesting that when I was a kid, all we’d ever seen of Everest were some photos from film cameras. Then, almost 30 years ago, three incredibly talented and experienced mountaineers lugged a huge IMAX camera to the summit, so that we average people could drive somewhere to see it in high definition on a big screen. Today, I’m sitting on my couch watching this guy’s summit adventure on a tiny screen in the palm of my hand.
the fact that humans can do this is absolutely amazing. the sheer strength and determination needed for this 42 day climb, as well as the training it takes to even be able to do it is just such an amazing and inspiring thing.

This is the best thing I have ever watched on RUclips! Absolutely incredible video, so inspiring to make people want to try something new and push them to their limits!
It takes 40 days to reach the top of Mt. Everest, but then you only have to stay there for like 8-10 minutes. It’s insane to remember the cost, stamina, time, and everything that needs to be sacrificed. You’re so great bro! The moral of the story that we can take from summit Mt. Everest is actually not about reaching the top. But about the journey that we pass through it, patience, and how do we get back home safely. Actually Mt. Everest’s view at the top is nothing comparing to other mountains in this world. But it teach us how to be patient, build a strong foundation both of mentality and physically. And about the journey that we takes 🔥
I have a real bad ADHD problem and have really bad trouble watching a 10 minute video without skipping or going to the next video but this video kept my attention all 5 hours!! This was such a nice video to watch before bed time!
I've seen many documentaries about Mountain Climbing, especially Mount Everest ones, and I must say that your video was more informative than the others. The first humans attempting to climb this were the sherpas, the locals of the land.
Sherpa Tenzing Norgay was together with Edmund Hillary on the first first climb. Sherpas were always the true heroes here.
A good Mt. Everest video is always ideal to watch.
Lol same here lmao, thing is tho, im a lazy ass dude but this video makes me wanna start climbing mountains honestly
As a Nepali who has climbed the Mt. Everest, I want to say your so lucky to climb on it and also thanks for visiting our country 😊

So stfu.
Hi Ryan,
I just can't believe you were 19 doing this climb.

I am nearly 64 years old. I am a US Military Veteran. I have traveled a bit of the world......but never "experienced" anything
like this video. I think that since the climb is completed, I will "miss" you (if that makes any sense). I have experienced something

Am not going to lie, i watched this video over and over again. Very well made and fun. You feel the experience like you are already there
Your enthusiasm, dedication, and humor are deeply inspiring to me.
Yoo that’s awesome!! It’s never too late. Good luck with your trek.
That’s absolutely amazing how you’ve been inspired! I wish you & your kids the very best of luck in your trek 💪
The resilience!! Hope you and your family stay safe and enjoy ❤
Congratulations! I have been following Everest content since I was in high school (1984) and this is the best footage I have ever seen. You literally captured the experience of what it is like to be there. And clearly demonstrated how knowledgeable, trained and fit you need to be to attempt this climb.
Same, but 1999 for me. Loving this
I just want to thank you for this video, it's the next best thing to actually being there.
The best documentary İ have ever seen for Everst. Showing actual track rather than showing short videos from base camps. Loved It!
Thank you.
The video about complete Everest climbing experience that i have been wanted to see since last 20 years. Cant thank you enough for all your efforts.
Truly amazing. Not other documentary can touch this. It really drives home the challenges, technicalities, and beauty of the climb. Bravo 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
I watched the whole 5 hours while studying, now I'm really invested in the mount Everest. You made me wanna see it for myself!
I have been fascinated with Mount Everest since I was a kid, but I have no desire to climb it.
I have seen dozens of documentaries on it, and when I saw the length of this one, I thought "no way will that hold my attention, but at least it will be background noise while I work."
Boy, was I wrong! I watched the whole thing and saw so much more than what I have ever seen in any documentary.
Thank you for giving me this experience.
I wish you well in your future endeavors, and I will cheer you on.
yes I agree with you 💯❤️
Its incredible...being a Nepalese, i wanna say thank you so much for visiting our country.
God bless you and protect you on your future journey!
This was incredible. I loved every minute of it. You just showed your true experience and feelings without trying to “make content” or dramatize it
This is amazing bro. Most vloggers would only film 20 min and upload it but we have the whole deal here. This is great content!
I am fully able and even I can't climb Mount Everest 😭
I was in hospital once and I had to get up by myself at night shortly after having a hip operation and being flat on my bed for 21 days previously. Just pulling myself up and getting into the wheelchair felt like climbing Mount Everest, even 20 years later, I still remember the feeling of achievement. So, I can appreciate the achievements that disabled people make every day in their daily life. Thoughts to all who have a daily struggle with their personal Everest.
Aw man I hope you’re doing well these days!
Congrats and great job on the doc. No over dramatization on the narrative. You clearly prepared properly and impressed that you continued to film at the higher altitudes! Great job all around!!!

Kudos on making such an immersive video. Thank you for taking us on this journey.
The way and its filmed, with the calm voice, made it look so easy.
the fact that humans can do this is absolutely amazing. the sheer strength and determination needed for this 42 day climb, as well as the training it takes to even be able to do it is just such an amazing and inspiring thing.
