Coming from a pair of trustworthy Astro A50's, which have been used extensively, and for about 4 years. @@mattjordan55 Yo Mathew. Missed a couple of days here, sorry. But now there's been more time in-between my use of them, and I might have more things to add here than initially. To answer your question first. No, they were the 3 gen of the Astro A50, and the Playstation/PC version (black and blue color scheme). Not sure how much they differ compared to the gen 4, other than the headset looking a little different, and the base station. Don't think you can go wrong with either here, but this headset from SteelSeries were a much pleasant surprise, after using the Astro's. Hmmm.... SteelSeries support says that the ANC is not designed to be use with bluetooth, hence the ticking and interference noises that so many people hear when using Bluetooth at the same time as ANC. just got mine today. I downloaded sonar and the required firmware update. After the update the headset is unresponsive and wont turn on. I have contacted steel series, but they have not responded yet. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
honestly this is great when it works. It's extremely complicated. I just have it for my PC for gaming and sometimes game sound works, sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes I have to have a youtube video running in the background on mute for the headset to pickup sound in my game. I just want to be able pair this with the bluetooth on my PC and not have to worry about where audio sources are coming from or having one audio source silence out my other.
It is not swapping in my Win10 sound system selection. even when i have it as headset it plays out of my speakers. will continue to work but at this price point plug and and play was expected to operate much more seemelessly
I was having issues too, just figured it out (worked for me anyway), reset the base station to defaults, un plug and plug back in after that. Then make sure the headset is off (hold power for 2 seconds). Go to the pairing option on base station, wireless, 2.4, then pair, now when turning the headset on hold for like 6-7 seconds. Theres 3 different blinks here, the first is a slow blink, thats not the pair, the 2nd is a slightly faster blink, also not the pairing, the 3rd at the end of 6-7 seconds is very rapid, thats the pairing mode. Hope that helps.

Everything produced by steel series is great. Can't go wrong with the company, just got these to replace my Arctis wireless pro that I had for 4 years. Sonar still kills the battery life and needs some work but I have faith in them, they have proven worthy of it.
Really? My arctic wireless pro broke in the same spot twice and had to go to the RMA process which ended up with me getting the nova wireless pro, which so far has been -really- good.
@@ChadyotheWallnut Interesting, I buy two of evertything a set for myself and my child. We have used their products for over a decade, never had any problems. Maybe its a localized issue?
@@callmethreeone I loved the pro wireless, it fit me excellently I've worn it for up to 16 hours a day and I was a big fan, but there was always the plastic connection point that broke for me. I thought that maybe I was being too rough with my first headset so I bought a stand for it to rest on when I wasn't using it and always put in there very gently with the second one but the same issue occurred. Steel series was never difficult about the RMA though despite the fact that my second one was only just started to fail and was still useable apart from that the slack meant it leaned on my left ear. I mean I'm typing on a steel series keyboard, the only thing of Logitech I haven't replaced is my G902 mouse because it's still good and I like it. Why doesnt steelseries make a video just for console. So if I can't use sonar unless I'm on a PC I could care less about it. Make a video on what you should do for PS5 or XBOX. For instance these Nova pro wireless headset a quieter than the 7x I had for Xbox. These things are $378 with tax so this shouldn't be the case. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. There is no volume limiter turn off for the pros that I could see.
I don't like having to remove a cover to plug a usb-c cable into this headset. Then I have a random cover coming loose that I have to keep track of, annoying and I'll probably lose it. Also the 7P+ has more confortable ear cups, I don't know why the 7p+ feels better than this more expensive headset that hurts my head, but this headset definitely has room for improvement.
the cover is magnetic, and as long as you have it on metal, it isnt going to come loose. The usb-c is only for mobile charging so really should just be temporary and not the constant state of things.

Does anyone know how to get the Chat Mix to work the way it was intended on PC? I am connected to USB 3.0. I can control the volume mix via the Game Dac. However, it doesn’t lower the chat audio and raise the game volume or vice versa the way it’s supposed to. I am a bit confused. My Arctis 9X I currently use and have had since mid 2019 pair directly to the Xbox with no PC needed. My confusion is with the phrasing, "plug DAC into PC then into Console." do you need to have a PC to use the headset on Xbox or is that just for extra use on a PC? Can anyone clarify? Thank you.
It has two inputs. You can plug a PC and a console into it at the same time, and switch between them. If you don't want to use them with a PC you can just plug the DAC into your Xbox, but they won't pair directly to the Xbox without the DAC (that's a special feature of the 9X, and a few other headsets like the Razer Kaira). If you want to use it with Xbox though, make sure to get the "for Xbox" one, as the other versions aren't compatible because Microsoft locks them out.

On the Ps4/5 How come when I power off from the headset, the audio doesn't automatically switch to TV output?
Just ordered mine to upgrade from the arctis pro wireless 🙌 😎
for me is actually a downgrade
Two years later but did you like it? Got a few questions regarding this headset and it's wireless counterpart:
1: Do the Arctis Nova Pro Wired Xbox version and Arctis Nova Pro Wireless Xbox version (when using the 3.5mm cable in a controller) work to it's full capacity on PS5 and Xbox Series X and if not, what's missing?
2: I've used a Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X headset on PS5 due to it''s multiplatform use and that one had delay and robot microphone audio at times when using 2 of the same headsets on PS5. Is this an issue with this headset too?
3: Does the microphone stay in place when pulled out or does it start to rattle when moving around? With my Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X, the mic got looser and looser with time and rattled with the slightest movement, hence why I ask.
4: Several people state that the earpads aren't deep enough and that the ANC point in the earpads puts pressure on the ears on top of the fact that the headset is supposedly less comfortable than previous Steelseries headsets ánd the earpads are a bit smaller than other headsets too. What's people's opinion on this?
5: Is couch-co-op on the same console possible when two people have this same headset and use the gamedac wireless or does the base PS5 not have enough ports to be able to use 2 Arctis Nova Pro Xbox headsets wireless at the same time? The standard PS5 has three USB-A ports and one USB-C port.
I always assumed that the pro wireless had a design flaw, or perhaps I just have a fat head compared to you which forces the headset to stress on different points. Either way I'm currently happy with my nova pro wireless and we'll see how that goes for the next few years!
Im surprised your ears havent hurt yet
how to setup steelseries nova pro wireless with capture card to obs?
Got this headset after 2 days i couldn't charge it. The batteries wont stay in the switch to charge and doesn't even show a charging symbol. Nice product.
How do I set them up so they don't sound like a wet 💩 compared to my astro A50's on PS5?
These were so expensive but sound terrible in comparison and I'm scared I've just wasted a lot of money.

quick question how do we know ANC is on? like which tone that plays signals on or off? same for transparency mode i dont see that mentioned in the manual
You could check this using the base station but one high pitched beep is off, the double beep is on, For transparency its double press, double high pitched beep for on, one high pitched beep for off.

What do I do when I’m not using it normally I’ll either put it on my monitor or turn the headphones so they’re facing my desk and put them flat on it

I am connected to USB 3.0. I can control the volume mix via the Game Dac. However, it doesn’t lower the chat audio and raise the game volume or vice versa the way it’s supposed to. Instead rotating to the left (Game) does absolutely nothing & rotating all the way to the right (Chat) will actually mute both the game and chat audio. Please help since I haven’t found a fix. Hello, can i switch between the Steelseries connected to the base and a pair of speakers without disconnecting that base?
Eveytime I try to connect my extra battery into the base station it just pops back out from the spring, tried multiple times scared to break it. Looks so easy in the video any advice ?
