Thanks for the detailed review! Do yo have and idea as to what the hole/opening above the pan handle is used for when operating the tripod? This hole is directly below the bubble. Could it be for an accessory and if yes, what would that be?
Is the fluid head detachable? For example if using with a Nodal Ninja where I would want to attach that directly to the tripod using hte 3/8" screw without using the fluid head.
Great showcase of the tripod!. So far this has been the most compact and sturdy video tripod with fluid head that I have seen. Are there any other comparable options for video travel tripods? Is there a carbon fiber version of this one? Cheers!
There is a carbon version of the befree tripod, and also turn-and-lock legs (both lock options available in aluminium or carbon). If you don't find the tripod in carbon version with 3-way head, the head can be bought separately (theoretically the tripod cannot be bought without a head, so you'll end up with an extra ball or video head).
Thanks for the review glad to see you back!
This was the best review on the tripod I've seen. Thanks.
Jsut reviewed this - surprised me! Great travel tripod
