My suggestion Lionheart? Only give names to units that achieve veterancy. Adds some personality to the army without going over the top and making that unit EARN its name too.

I like your idee . I was thinking that in the dwarf campaing every time a unit routs from the battlefield completly - off map. He has to disband it and recruit a slayer unit. The shame was to much and they were forced to take the slayers oath.
Ricardo De Leon The ineffectiveness does not worry me as much as the cost which as you say is not cheap. You can also add a rule that say a slayer unit is 90 units you would tally the total of the retreating units. 20 left in that one and 20 in that one so you would only get the slayer unit when the total of the units that failed you reached 90. Lowers the amount and frequency but still is fluff appropiate. I mean dead dwarves dont take slayer oaths

(Ep. 1-3) His longest losing streak was 0 battles. His Reiksguard killed the most enemies in one battle with 250 kills. (Ep.1)

As much as I'm an Empire fanboy, the Empire this fractured would be stomped FLAT by the first big greenskin horde coming through. Nevermind an ambitious shit vampire or an ever fucking Everchosen led Chaos warband. I'm about the biggest Empire fan there is - Karl Franz is my second favorite character in all of Warhammer, behind the God-Emperor of Mankind in 40k - but... Yeah. The Skaven would eat the Empire in this situation, the Greenskins would, the Vamps would, Chaos would. Unless they were all as fractured or more. In which case, Empire would actually win. Humanity unifies faster.
It seems CA has shifted the paradigm of x unit vs y unit effectiveness. Gone are the days that cavalry always beat skirmishers, no matter the type. For future reference Lionheart, Pistoliers are designed to skirmish and harass enemy flanks pulling them out of position and baiting (much like Dragoons) not to be charged headlong into infantry, should wait for the Empire Knights to do that! Still great Lets Play of a good game and will continue watching!

+lionheartx10 I would confederate with Stirland. I know you are worried about the vampire counts, but Stirland is wiping them out, so you don't really need to worry about them. Chaos still might take a while to get all the way down south too. I would think about that though
Assuming the order and relations penalty only lasts for those 5 turns you should definitely confederate, other than peacefully gaining a decent chunk of land it kinda ties in with requests to unite the empire through diplomacy. Besides, even if the wrath of the counts does strike you, I'm sure you're good enough to defeat them xD
for those of you who have trouble with pistoliers or ranged cavalry in general. Crossbowmen eat them for lunch. Always keep a division in your army to knock off ranged cavalry from your melee.
I'd confederate with Talbecland, you've got good relationship with Stirland so the -40 hit won't be that bad with them. Can build relationship back up with Stirland later then confederate with them.
Confederate and that will make you a lot more powerful and I heavily doubt the other empire factions will invade you for lore and difficulty reasons. If you confederate you get their armies so you cold easily crush any on who invades you. You would also have their wealth to raise more troops if necessary also you probably need to become stronger to fight chaos. I think you would have a lasting diplomatic penalty if you decide to start conquering other empire factions.
Hey LionHeart, loving the Empire letsplay. i would say on the matter of confederation, consolodate the power in your area, get more of provinces and keep some troops as extra garrison. then go for confederation with Talabecland. they have less enemies and you have a good buffer against the vampire counts, which could buy you some time to end the other threats before having to deal with anyone else. and with all those extra provinces comes extra income which could be used on starting a new army in that area. thats my 2 cents on the topic :P
That battle shows the downside of underestimating the enemy, being over confident in your own forces, rushing your forces, overstretching your forces, and not using your units effectively. You won because of that general really.

I would wait on confederating with Talabecland until after the war with Kislev is over. If you do it while the war is on, then you become fully responsible for fighting it
Join with Talabecland. It's either that or a war, and you'll want to focus on Middenland to the north and Marienburg to the west. However, you will now have to deal with Vislav or whatever they're called, as well as undead factions. Either way, it should be a lot quicker than a war, but make sure that you have a powerful military before you join because you'll need to guard your extensive borders while Karl Franz is off conquering people.
Finish your ambitions in the east, and leave Nordland, Middenland, etc there so you'd have a huge buffer against the inevitable Chaos hoards. I'd confederate with Stirland and use their armies to hold ground against the Vampire Lords, and take Karl's army to finish off the southern counts. Then push into Slyvania and finish the undead so you can focus all of your resources on the northern front. Possibly confederate with Middenland at this point. You wanna make sure the Eastern and Southern theater are secure so you can pull your troops to attack the north. At least that is what I'd do... God I can't wait to play this game lol
Thanks for saying what buttons you press to do certain camera movements/ unit commands. I keep overlooking the keybinding in the options to see what each one does.
I'd say don't worry about confederating right now. Focus on maintaining good relations, but finish off Marienburg (which is good from a lore standpoint -- they must be forced to rejoin the Empire!), then make sure you have good relations with neighboring counts before going for it. Stirland would be a good choice, mostly for its size, and the fact that it gives you a new front for conquests in Sylvania and the World's Edge Mountains beyond. The rapid expansion confederations would give could help your economy, but remember that now other counts will want to do it for a long time afterwords...
+lionheartx10 Love the Series :D My to cents is, wait a bit with the confederacy at least until you have Marienborg or what the name of the place you are sieging at the moment are under your controle and the public order is good. Then take the confederacy with talabeland because stirland likes you more and then the diplo penalty will not have as bad a consequence, they might not like you as much but the will properly not break the military allience .

When you get a general with a better trait try Kurt Helborg, Reiksmarshal or Ludwig Schwarzhelm, Emperor's Champion, wielder of the Soland Runefang. For a warrior priest try Author Huss or Bookmark the Grimm, Grand Theoganist.
Go for a confederacy with Stirland. You get a lot of land and a lot more income. Although you have to quickly garrison the east because you got no units there
What does everyone think of the difficulty level on the campaign? I've seen a few Let's Plays and almost everyone seems to be having their problems....

Very well done. Your ability to manage the battle as quickly as you do is very impressive! I'm more deliberative in my Total War games and usually slow the clock way down :) One little knit picky thing, during your small battle on the hilltop I felt you kept your forces way too spread out. I know his running forces would have come back, but I fell you would have been better to consolidate and totally wipe out the enemy forces still engaged and then kill the enemy rallied units piece meal keeping the Mass of your army intact. But you still won :P

In the battle at the end of the episode, the fight would have gone much better for you if your infantry weren't set to guard mode. Guard is useful for keeping a formation, but the enemy was able to withdraw and reform repeatedly because your infantry did not chase them down as they fled.
Confederate with Stirland, they have better (and probably more developed) territory and you could use their momentum to end the Vampires before Chaos arrives.
What I love about the empire campaign is that it's not crazy like the other campaigns. I have no problem with monster units but they are just used without consideration or thought.
great video, in my opinion even more entertaining to watch then the first two. i habe two ideas for next episode, i think you should place your witch hunter in your second Army. and you should maybe look it the nerf for making a confederation is different while green or yellow, or of you can maybe negate it in sone way. waiting to see the next episode and greetings from Germany.
Maybe send a force south west to sack and build a good war treasury to help with expansion and raising armies. Keep good relation with Bretonia and you should be fine

What I love about the empire campaign is that it's not crazy like the other campaigns. I have no problem with monster units but they are just used without consideration or thought.

and you should maybe look it the nerf for making a confederation is different while green or yellow, or of you can maybe negate it in sone way.

Maybe send a force south west to sack and build a good war treasury to help with expansion and raising armies. Keep good relation with Bretonia and you should be fine

And a general "The knight who says nee" or name an Empire Knight unit after him. It would be hilarious :D

Confederate with them both, be a challenge for you. It may create wars with others but at the same time you will have the others armies in your and as a said it will be a challenge (:
