I’m so glad I ran into this video because there is just this one spot on my aligners where my Tooth is pushed out so there’s a small gap there and the inside of my lip is scraping against it when I talk and smile. I just completed my first 24 hours of Invisalign
Thank you so much. So glad I stumbled upon this video as I just started my aligners and it hurt my tongue so much that I did not want to open my mouth. Put the wax on and instant relief
Same here. Its my first week on invisalign…. Ang after 3 days my tongue begav to hurt like hell….. i tried to file the tray alittle… did not help at all…..
after weeks of dealing with a 2 inch ulcer that ran along my inner lip, hopefully now I can get some relief! I was trying to push it onto the aligned before putting it in and it wouldn’t stay! Now I see it’s best to do it when it’s already in.
My tongue is hurting like it's on fire rn cause of these aligners. I couldn't even chew on or swallow my food when I tried to eat (aligners off and I had to keep them off for a while cause they were literally abusing my tongue). I've wanted to know how to use the wax. Thank you tremendously for this video.
thank you so much. I am using Byte and at only a few days in I have a very painful, odd sore where it was rubbing. In the middle of this sore looks as if there's a slice/cut. It hurts extremely bad and I will be using wax as soon as possible I was actually debating on just cutting that tooth off of the aligner since the treatment didn't seem to involve that specific tooth lol
If you are active moving teeth with aligners, your progress will be stalled by not wearing them for a day. If you are merely retaining teeth with retainers and forget a day, you will likely be fine by forgetting a day as long as you resume wearing the retainers the following day.
hello! Since aligner user has to remove their aligners when eating 3 times a day, is it ok to use the same wax everytime they put on their aligner, and only change it once a day?
I've had my Invisalign for a few months and am just now experiencing discomfort around the gums of my two front teeth. How would I put the wax on if I'm experiencing discomfort on my two front teeth? Thanks!
Either try putting wax on them or tell your orthodontist they've started to irritate your gums. They may have to send in for a refinement set of new trays to fit you better
If the retainer is at fault, possibly. Most of the time, though, if you keep wax on a spot like that for a day or two then the tissue will heal and you won't need the wax anymore. Other times, you may have to polish the retainer/aligner
The wax will never stay like that because the mouth is wet. Therefore it wont stick. They should come up with a soft material to put already on the adges so the edges are less hurtful to our gums and cheeks.
My retainers hurt but , I don’t mind that part it’s just the , tounge that bleeds and get cut from the sharp back edges , it’s only the bottom one tho the top one fits perfectly, what should I tell my orthodontist when I call ? Also I missed them for a day will that cause any shifting?
Just tell them your retainers are sharp and need polished on the edges. One day SHOULDN'T be bad, but you need to wear them even if they're sharp so your teeth don't move. Try putting wax on like I show you in this video
Would that help if the aligners are scraping against the gum line? When I put them in it was ok but I woke up this morning and my gums were a bit swollen and I noticed the aligners weren't over them but actually pushing them up causing the swelling. BTW this is just one tooth on bothe the top and bottom its tight in that one spot. I tried filing it outward but I ended up just pulling at the part that goes over the gumline so it's stretched out a little. Now it rubs against the inside of my lip but its way better than how it felt before. I don't want to do that for my next set when it's time to change because I think it can damage them.
If you've pulled part of it out for comfort, the wax will prevent it from rubbing your lip. The wax trick won't really work if the aligner is digging into your gums, but that's when you can pull that part out. If it continues with every aligner tell your orthodontist so they can check if you need a refinement, because maybe they aren't fitting properly. Good luck
Hi, what if the aligners were digging on the gums of your top teeth when you’re putting them in or taking them out? Would I have to put the wax in the aligners before putting the slingers in mouth as my new aligners are a little tight? Thank you.
I should probably make a video explaining how you can solve this problem with a nail file or a Dremel. The problem is most people wouldn't be careful enough with either of these instruments. This is not me giving you advice over the internet, but I am just telling you that I have heard of it being done...
You would think for how many thousands of dollars we pay for these aligners that maybe they could smooth 'em out a little bit =/
Fr
I agree, you pay over £1000 and their damn sharp🙁
This really helped! I’ve been having the worse first days with my aligners. I was about to yank them out

Thank you sooo much. Just got my braces off yesterday and these retainers are kicking my butt.... fixing to try this now.
You're very welcome
i was getting so aggravated about to sleep with my finger over they spot. Thank you
Thank u so much I was already bleeding form my tongue...and how do we remove it and can we eat with them on ??
No, don't eat with them in. When you're ready to remove the wax, just pull it off
Thanks for the video! I presume the wax will come off / need to be re-applied each time we take the aligners off and on right?
That's possible but it depends. Sometimes it stays on for a while.
At GODSEND! Thank you so much!!! Tremendously!!!!
Thanks so much for this video! On day one and my tongue is hurting, I feel a lot calmer now with the wax on 🤣
Can we eat with it on or off and how to we remove it?
Same ! 😭
@@revspawns7796 no, don't
OMG. You are a life saver. Thank you
This was very helpful! Thank you!
Thx for the video! Mine tray digs in to my tongue after 3 days, its my first week on invisalign …. What if i swallow the wax? Its not harmfull ?
No, not harmful at all

I hope it works out for you
Did it work??
Thanks because the back of tongue on the sides were getting sliced UP. I ran to cvs with the quickness 😭
What happens if we don't use retainer for a day
Does it affect my teeth

Thank you for this.

@@BaronDHall Thanks!
Will I have to use retainers the rest of my life after I'm done with the whole process????
Yup. 😕 I'm sorry, but that's the price we have to pay to have straight teeth
@@BaronDHall lol, thanks

If you cannot get it to stick you're not doing it properly. I'm sorry to say...
@BaronDHall I put it directly to the tray out not with the tray already placed in

can i use this to ease gum pain for invisalign retainers ??
You can certainly try, but if all of your aligners are irritating the same spot on your gums then you might have some poorly fitting aligners
Would that help if the aligners are scraping against the gum line? @@LBndz-t6h yes it can
thank you! 😩
I’ve had to file my top ones down, can you wax them as they are digging into my gums and inside of my lip, thanks
My sharp edges are like right at the back what do I do it’s starting to cut my tongue
Did you try wax like the video shows?
Is it normal to not be able to bite down fully with aligners on?
Absolutely. You're good
Wax falls right out
Make sure your mouth is dry (or the area) and push the wax kind of hard into the pokey area. You have to mold the wax into place
I NEED THE QUEST, NOT WANT!
File it
Electric rotating nail file is God sent.
THANKS SO MUCH !
Thank you !
