Wow, thanks for the fast reply! I was aiming to try find an alternative to BO2 for the XBOX 360 console! Also, I love your reviews. They have a nice depth to them and are neatly packed with pretty much all the information I look for in a review before buying a game.
This is the best review I've found so far... thanks for your thoughts on the campaign, I feel like everybody is comparing it way too much to COD and really hated on it for unjustified reasons.
Hey bro, how was your brightness? I found that by brightening things up a bit, the graphics were a lot prettier than if you went by the game's recommendation. What are your thoughts?
Really great review, you are the only guy out there that actually puts the needed elements I want to know about a game, in your reviews. By the way: how were you able to take off with that jet? I'm lvl 10 and I can't even get it off the ground!
Looking back now after your review of BF3, CoD - BO2 and MoH: Warfighter .... where was your personal best online experience and/or which one was the most fun?
Great review as usual! This is my first BF game, I usually just play COD. I have to say that I enjoy this game more than any COD game I have ever played. Curious to see how BF3 will compare to MW3? Any chance on doing a comparison style review of the two?
FINALLY! an honest review for the single player! yeah the story is played out but its fucking fun as hell unlike what other reviewers make it sound like; i loved the campaign, nice review dude
@ZeitgeistReview Hey bro, I heard the graphics were pretty crap compared to the PC. From this video, there's some bad aliasing but is it just the low res? What is your overall opinion on the graphics, as compared to other games on the consoles?
@TheAuZZieGamer Using the tuner, it says to make the "3" barely visible. I usually take it up a few steps higher than that, so I usually try to play brighter than recommended.
@BacteriumsBud I believe the actual resolution is just below 720p but AA is enabled. I thought they looked great on the console. Obviously the PC will blow them away, but for hardware that's 5+ years old, the consoles handle the graphics nicely.
So is this game worth gettin at all? I have a AMD x4 965 at 3.7 GHz, 4 gigs ddr3 1333Mhz RAM and a Radeon HD 6950 2GB, will I be able to play it at medium/high with 60 fps? The only game I've been looking forward to this fall is Skyrim, but some of my friends bought this and told me to check it out. I used to play BF2 alot, but I've heard this game isn't even as good as the old one gameplay wise...
I am glad I am not the only one who thought the story line wasnt bad, the likes of Gamespot and IGN really didnt like it but I dont see why, maybe I am too easily impressed! Good review though mate, you touched on some points I didnt even think of! HGR.
i've been hearing a lot of negative stuff about the campaign so it's nice to see that someone has good things to say about it. Personally i don't really give a shit if the story is cliche, as long as the action is good and the missions entertaining i'm set. Good Review
Whoa! Look at those graphics! Can you imagine if Quake 3 had that (I want a Quake 5 to come out. :P )? Do be honest, I'm not really interested in these 'slow paced' military shooters. I just clicked on the video, to hear about the single player review perspective, and to see the gorgeous graphics. You did a nice job covering everything that is needed to know for the singleplayer. When I looked at other gaming reviews, critics only focused on the multiplayer majority of the time. 9_9
This may be one of the only games I'll ever get for both PC and console. Console because most of my friends play on console, and PC for the old-school 64-player online. I don't yet have either but I think I plan to have both in the next few months.
on the beta version i really struggled to see enemies, from forums ect many people seemed to be having the same issue now that the real game has been released has this been changed at all? thnx
imo battlelog was not really necessary but i guess its nice for making and communicating with friends. I do like Origin tho because i dont need to put in the disc every time
@UnderwhelmingPlywood If you can get a super computer at 800-1000 price range, what's the point of getting gaming pcs that goes over 2000? I've seen many.
Haven't played it yet but it's gotta be great to be able to both shoot a rifle on the ground and fly around in a jet in the same map. It makes me think though, surely you'd have to to have a very good pc so you can load a large portion of the map or you have to fly around in circles to stay within the boundries.. Could anyone who actually played the game confirm any of my thoughts?
@shinra94 The developers said they would resize the maps in a way for the console versions so don't worry. Although I would try to get your PC up to date to fully enjoy this, we are coming up to the time when games are becoming far more complicated for consoles to handle (Rage, Skrym, BF3, Prey 2)
The one significant downfall for BF3 is that it's not Bad Company. THAT'S what it should have stayed as, a buddy-buddy comedy with likeable characters and a companionship between them you can't help but adore and feel a part of. That's what set Battlefield from the rest of the FPS games, and that's why we loved it so much more than the rest. I haven't played it yet, so I don't know if it's actually still good despite the loss of that story model, but I'll have to wait for a price-drop to see.
hey man, pls reply, i just wanted to ask, i want battfeild 3 but i also want to really get mw3 and sains row 3 and uncharted 3, but i can only get to, and rigth now im leaning towards battf feild and mw3 what do u think? ps: i may be able to squeeze a little money out of my parrents!!!
I very truthfully had wished I had listened to this game review before I even bought the game. See the Steam forums under B:AC (same screen name) if you wanna know more. The main thing for me was the writing. Please, god, just let the writing be good. Nope, they even screwed that up. But I did buy DE:HR because you said that the game rocked. Also because you said that you don't usually play these types of games, but you absolutely loved it. And it delivered on all fronts.
the only complaint I have about the game is the voiceacting. Your characters will be sprinting along yet not breathing heavy when they talk. It's just one of those annoyances I have with games like this. I want people to sound like they are scared out of their mind because I know I would be in their spot.
The first 2 hours of this game were very good, I was using my BRAND new ps3. BUT then the next day, R1 on the controller felt wierd, it was no longer fun to press the R1button, it had gotten all soft. I could tell because L1 felt brand new but R1 didn't and shooting people was no longer fun any more. has this happened to anyone else? if so then what do I do? how do I fix the button? anyway, a huge problem in this game is the extremly flawed knifing. you have to be in the exact position. And
I want an honest opinion.. I own a 360 elite now and a ps3, not sure which games to get for which systems.. Anyone got any comments on online features and which platform would be best??
Origin was what made me buy this for the PS3 too. I barely tolerate Steam and Securom, I won't take anything more. Enough is enough! I have played all BF games on the PC, and while the graphics are not as good on the PS3, I don't care any more. Regarding the player limit, I also play BF1943 on the PS3 which has the same and as anyone who has played it would tell you, there is no problem. As there was no problem with the BETA of BF3. Waiting for the game to be delivered, glad the SP is good.
@TheAuZZieGamer I'm going to try that I usually lower the brightness to eliminate screen flushing, but this game seems to really shine in the light lol.
I've been playing fps for 18 years and been a Battlefield player since 2002. This is how I'd rate this game: singleplayer: 3/10 (more like a interactive tunnel-movie than an actual game) multiplayer: 6/10 (dumbed down compared to its prequels, not a single major improvement over its prequels, general lack of innovation, feels like the target audience is the CoD audience - plays like CoD with vehicles, dumbed down map design with clustered objectives and lack of travelling) overall: 4.5/10
Thinking of getting this for consoles (ps3) because my pc can't handle bf3. Idk yet though. To anyone who has bf3 for consoles- hows the multiplayer? Im concerned at the fact that often the game will feel empty because theres only 24 players on the very large maps...
@ZeitgeistReview I prefer his style over IGN. ZGR has a relaxed style. And the quality of his videos are pretty much standard setting for amateur critics.
Why would the multiplayer need to be reviewed when that's the main reason Military FPS fans buy these games in the 1st place? Multiplayer has ALWAYS been the main focus of these types of FPS. This is coming from a non-military FPS fan who notices reviews and the main focus is usually the multiplayer while the single player is rushed. ZG realized that and left the multiplayer stuff out because of all the hype, or recommended next-gen if they're still unsure. Simple as that.
@ZaneCamelia Nope, that was all me. If you think the campaign is full of cheap deaths, it's because you run and gun. You don't take the time to set up your shots and properly pass the levels.
@RamboJesusFTW BF3 was meant as a online shooter, most online shooters won't let you mod the game anyway, make a private server, if you want to join a server,go on to the battle log and change it yourself, it's pretty easy, and generic? seriously, battlefield games have been based off OTHER battlefield games, if you honestly called this generic, you've been spoiled by video games and expect every new game must be absolute perfection
@chris200830 and what fps's do you play, there are alot better fps campaginsout there deus ex is the best this year, and hell F.E.A.R 3 has a better campaign, just saying
@BladePenguin its not a must that you have to update your pc every year -.- i had at nice 700 dollar PC from 2 years ago running this game on ultra settings.
@donnk "The bigger the company behind the game, the more praise the game receives." That's bullshit, he's given positive reviews to many independent developer games; Gothic 4, Witcher 2, Risen (which was largely ignored by many reviewers. Think before you comment.
no cover system cod has never had one but you don't complain about that . sorry if I sound like an ass hole but it seems like every one are complaining about so little things
Shame you don't review PC version. It's technicaly far more superior to console counterparts. You certainly know it, so, I'm just surprised you chosed xbox instead. Btw, really like your reviews and your review style.
@soul516 i am BELOW the requirements(gave a few probs with sound in singlepl- but NO problems cept loading time in multipl) it looks better then BF2 with everything on Low - ofc im working on upgrading. seen how great it can look on the video's. is it that great compared to BF2 mm i'm leaning no i certainly am not liking the infrared sights, higher levels who reach that have a SUBstantial advantage.its SO easy to see people, more maps make you depend more on teamplay to breach points is +
can't believe this game is out on the consoles! It's surprising how much dumbing down they gotta do to games these days so they can run on old hardware. Regardless it does look alright :3
Yeah, Origin isn't my favorite. I can't even install the game at the moment, because EA's going through technical difficulties with Origin, and I can't activate the game online. This is understandable, because there are so many people trying to activate the game at once, but still. It's annoying.
My second favorite reviewer is back, thanks for the review !!!
PS: Being myself the first one.
i like how your so chill with your reviews more review people need that quality
Hey bro, how was your brightness? I found that by brightening things up a bit, the graphics were a lot prettier than if you went by the game's recommendation. What are your thoughts?
Really great review, you are the only guy out there that actually puts the needed elements I want to know about a game, in your reviews.
By the way: how were you able to take off with that jet? I'm lvl 10 and I can't even get it off the ground!
I have always enjoyed your reviews, along with ultimatechances, his for hilarious honesty, and yours for scoreless quality. you guys do great!
A good review as always Zeitgeis ! let me ask you, you do the review on which console? ps3, 360 or PC? thank you
Looking back now after your review of BF3, CoD - BO2 and MoH: Warfighter .... where was your personal best online experience and/or which one was the most fun?
Awesome review i like the way you put more detail into the review subscribed:D
great review without spoilers man, thanks for all your hard work
Great review as usual! This is my first BF game, I usually just play COD. I have to say that I enjoy this game more than any COD game I have ever played. Curious to see how BF3 will compare to MW3? Any chance on doing a comparison style review of the two?
I love this game! A very nice review, I try to make sure watching your reviews before buying some games, you're damn good at reviewing!
FINALLY! an honest review for the single player! yeah the story is played out but its fucking fun as hell unlike what other reviewers make it sound like; i loved the campaign, nice review dude
@FUTSALDEVILAUS Do you have 5.1 dolby digital? I didn't notice sound problems with 5.1 enabled.
@ZeitgeistReview Hey bro, I heard the graphics were pretty crap compared to the PC. From this video, there's some bad aliasing but is it just the low res? What is your overall opinion on the graphics, as compared to other games on the consoles?
@GodOfWar8585 Mandatory install... What exactly do you think the PS3 is installing each time? ;-)
Great review as always!
@jegerreda I was pointing out the spelling mistake.. btw I thought it was 27th, it is in the rest of EU anyway x)
Greatly appreciate your reviews. Steered me away from a good bit of games I wouldn't enjoy and vice versa. Keep 'em coming ^_^
@TheAuZZieGamer Using the tuner, it says to make the "3" barely visible. I usually take it up a few steps higher than that, so I usually try to play brighter than recommended.

HGR.
ZG, what do you think about TB's take on the single player? About it feeling way to on-rails and scripted?
i've been hearing a lot of negative stuff about the campaign so it's nice to see that someone has good things to say about it. Personally i don't really give a shit if the story is cliche, as long as the action is good and the missions entertaining i'm set. Good Review

Where the hell are these reviews on my youtube Home page????
Daniel, you have a pc capable of running this game maxed out. Why did you buy the xbox version?

@Goldenfury12 how would you lose your code in the time it takes to open the game and type it on your ps3/xbox/pc
i dont get why people hate i thought it was a good review. he said multiplayer was good and single player was okay? whats so bad about that
I like this guys reviews cuz he is the actual one who talks like a real person and actually cuzes
I very truthfully had wished I had listened to this game review before I even bought the game. See the Steam forums under B:AC (same screen name) if you wanna know more. The main thing for me was the writing. Please, god, just let the writing be good. Nope, they even screwed that up.

What game can we expect next?
@subinteles How should I know? MW3 isn't out yet.
I've still haven't finished the sp, just don't see the reason why I should.
the only complaint I have about the game is the voiceacting. Your characters will be sprinting along yet not breathing heavy when they talk. It's just one of those annoyances I have with games like this. I want people to sound like they are scared out of their mind because I know I would be in their spot.
@LZSchneider I didnt say that I cant handle ''scary curse words'' and neither did the other guy... just that it looks more professional.
The first 2 hours of this game were very good, I was using my BRAND new ps3.

anyway, a huge problem in this game is the extremly flawed knifing. you have to be in the exact position.
And
srsly, you're saying not using origin outweighs the fact that you can play on 64 player maps? I don't think so
I want an honest opinion.. I own a 360 elite now and a ps3, not sure which games to get for which systems.. Anyone got any comments on online features and which platform would be best??
@ZeitgeistReview i thought you were refering "run and gun" to CallOfDuty games.
Origin was what made me buy this for the PS3 too. I barely tolerate Steam and Securom, I won't take anything more. Enough is enough!

@TheAuZZieGamer I'm going to try that I usually lower the brightness to eliminate screen flushing, but this game seems to really shine in the light lol.
@desyvfjellbergen Because being able to filter your servers in a multiplayer game is expected from players when a game has dedicated servers
I've been playing fps for 18 years and been a Battlefield player since 2002.
This is how I'd rate this game:
singleplayer: 3/10 (more like a interactive tunnel-movie than an actual game)
multiplayer: 6/10 (dumbed down compared to its prequels, not a single major improvement over its prequels, general lack of innovation, feels like the target audience is the CoD audience - plays like CoD with vehicles, dumbed down map design with clustered objectives and lack of travelling)

@ermac81 actually, her name is Jennifer, but they just call her Colby
@ZeitgeistReview I prefer his style over IGN. ZGR has a relaxed style. And the quality of his videos are pretty much standard setting for amateur critics.
this guy and angryjoe are the best unbiased reviewers imo
RUclips is taking a while to process... If it looks like shit, click the 720p button on the bottom right!

@Vicioussama That's a fair assessment. That's not a bad thing to me. Some games are fine being heavily scripted.
@ZaneCamelia Nope, that was all me. If you think the campaign is full of cheap deaths, it's because you run and gun. You don't take the time to set up your shots and properly pass the levels.
I don't know why a lot of people are hating on the story. I thought it was great fun!
@ZeitgeistReview he didnt mention enything about "run and gun"
It's a tie between Bo2 and Warfighter. If I played BF3 on the PC I imagine it would be tied with them as well.
@TheEthug what did ign do?
@ZeitgeistReview Agreed :) And it looks all the better
origin aint that bad. all you do is turn it on
@TheIncredibleLefty You only buy the online pass if you buy the game used. New copies come with one.
@RamboJesusFTW BF3 was meant as a online shooter, most online shooters won't let you mod the game anyway, make a private server, if you want to join a server,go on to the battle log and change it yourself, it's pretty easy, and generic? seriously, battlefield games have been based off OTHER battlefield games, if you honestly called this generic, you've been spoiled by video games and expect every new game must be absolute perfection

how do you get the graphics card for the 360?
@BladePenguin its not a must that you have to update your pc every year -.-
i had at nice 700 dollar PC from 2 years ago running this game on ultra settings.
@iTziLLUMY Yup, but none of my vids ever get posted there.
release date Octoboer? :P
Origin isn't the problem.. battlelog is!
Nice review dude :)
Could you please review Payday the Heist and/or inFamous Festival of Blood
@Zillerz3 who mentioned C2 and MW3?
@vavan100 he plays the version that was sent to him by the publisher.
@donnk I actually thing that these are some of the best reviews on YT. He is critical and even burns some games.
That meant to say PC (greater than symbol) either console. Trust me, it is jaw dropping.
Great review. I play on PC and the origin and battlelog interface are just terrible..... Why EA chose to not include steam is beyond me.
@donnk "The bigger the company behind the game, the more praise the game receives." That's bullshit, he's given positive reviews to many independent developer games; Gothic 4, Witcher 2, Risen (which was largely ignored by many reviewers. Think before you comment.
@TheEthug Whats wrong with IGN?
I don't get the big deal with Origin/EA Downloader. I have been using it from years with no problems.
Red Orchestra 2 also included the cover fire thing a few months ago, to great result :)
I really liked the story in this game. It was a cool story. Well done. And most importantly entertaining.
great review as usual ^^
no cover system cod has never had one but you don't complain about that . sorry if I sound like an ass hole but it seems like every one are complaining about so little things
Why the hate on origin? it's really not as bad as everyone makes out!
Yeah, Origin isn't my favorite. I can't even install the game at the moment, because EA's going through technical difficulties with Origin, and I can't activate the game online. This is understandable, because there are so many people trying to activate the game at once, but still. It's annoying.
