Small town but has a very strong village community culture. Haven't been there for over a decade but despite being quite lowly at that time, they did get a pretty good turnout & it was plain to see that everyone knew everyone. Great traditional local non-league club culture. Always liked Crook.
Nice video. I well remember Crook Town from my football annuals when I was a boy in the 1960s. Good to know they are still around. Very impressive ground.
Went to Crook ( I live about 5 miles away) to see them play Man City when they got their floodlights , from City.Malcom Allison turned up fedora an' all with the FIRST TEAM of Bell Lee Young Corrigan Book etc.
@prideofdurham4776 If you look at my Willington video, there's some newspaper cuttings in the boardroom when i think Big Mal was maanagerthere in the 80s - after his spell at Boro.
Played for Crook in the 70s when the floodlight league was happening our captain was Billy Ayre who went on to be a very good professional player and manager. A great club

I'm sure if you contacted the relevant club secretaries they'd be more than willing to accommodate you with a full tour of the relevant ground. No more peeping through fence gaps.
Yeah you're right. I'm usually doing them spontaneously though. Also I want to have a few more subscribers and a bigger audience first, to make ot worthwhile

@Oliias Spot on comment.
Hopefully I will return here at some point and go inside.

Amazing you did a video about crook, but didn't mention the Barcelona connection.
Sorry, it was a bit of a spontaneous video.

@@footballexplorer99 Agreed
It's a nice little town Crook. The place would have been ram packed with 17K in there.
I think it would be rammed with 5,000, haha
Reminds me very much of a smaller version of the old Dudley Town ground that close in 1985 due to subsidence. I think that had a 30 000 capacity
That's one ground I'm bot familiar with. I started looking at grounds via "The Non League Club Directory" in about 88.
Remember that book??
