Oh yeah! You can get this thing to have a crazy launch! Rev up the RPM’s and dump the clutch with traction completely off. The trick is that you have to let out the clutch while it’s revving up vs holding it at a certain RPM. Seems to be easier on the clutch doing it that way. Wouldn’t recommend doing that often for longevity reasons. 😅

I bought a GR86 and I feel like it looks a lot better than the BRZ. The duck bill and the better looking front bumper is what sold the GR86 over the BRZ.
I own a ‘23 BRZ and don’t regret buying it one bit. A few more things you can add on to the car to make it look better and also I like gunmetal wheels and they come with gunmetal wheels whether you get premium or limited. GR86 limited wheels are black and I never liked black wheels and the premium is silver with black that I didn’t like also
They are calibrated differently though. The GR86 is slightly more aggressive in its tuning/power curve and has better throttle response while the BRZ is tuned slightly more for comfort
Idk. They both feel the same to me 😂 I’d have to drive them literally back to back. If there truly were a difference, it’s so minimal that the average person couldn’t tell the difference.
@@forrestsautoreviewsofficial you’re right. I think the video I watched on it was wrong (though it was convincing) lol ruclips.net/video/q7-l_sWYwwc/видео.htmlsi=cII_FUg8ECvLLyvA. I bet it will be super reliable for at least 200K miles if you take care of it. The WRX has the same engine except with a turbo on it while the BRZ (Toyota GR86) is naturally aspirated. And you can't go wrong with the manual transmission. And even if you choose the automatic. It's a Toyota built automatic. Solid sports car.
I'd love it with a good engine. Subaru's engines and transmissions don't hold up to their own power. I'm not sure which transmission is in this thing, but 3rd gear is too small in the imprezza.
Less affordable to maintain then you think cuz it's a Subaru engine which is more expensive AND with the added unreliability if you picked the 2.4l versions
@@lanceh2009 well it’s no MX-5. But I’ve worked in automotive for 20 years now. Subaru 2.5’s can absolutely have problems. But it’s still a much more affordable option than many alternatives. Wheels, tires, brakes, exhaust, scheduled maintenance for example.

Toyota GR86 any day. So glad I purchased it over the BRZ. Toyota dealers did charge more for the Toyota, but visuals wise it looks a lot better than the BRZ. I rather pay a little bit more for a car I like, than pay for a cheaper car I don’t like since I have to live with it. Just my opinion.
I used to drive two cars regularly when designated driving for a professional DD company. One of these BRZ’s that belonged to a mechanic, and a late 80’s Porsche 911 that…didn’t belong to a mechanic. Both were a blast. The 911 hit 80mph too easily, I wanna say second gear, but the tuned up BRZ had me too scared to see what it would do. They can sound soooo nice it’s unbelievable.

They genuinely do look the same 😂
How about storage wise
more like weeknd... Don't judge me

Lol Im the opposite
@@fastcars514usually, but the motor is subaru, so you get subaru issues either way :/

The blue color in this video is the reason to go BRZ over GR86. The best hands down.

Buy either, amazing car for $.
That said depends on roads around you. BRZ is more compliant for rough roads.

I’ve heard the brz is slightly more prone to understeer and the gr86 leans towards oversteer.
Um
1) it does not sound like a boxer at all due to equal length headers
2) the difference is the rear sway bar connections.
I just got a 2023 GR86 so it cool to see you review a car I own!
I like the look of the 86 better, also they have that package you can get with the duck tail, looks better imo
You can get a duckbill on the brz. A oem color matched duckbill is like $200.

I'd choose the BRZ. I love the blue and Subaru sells at MSRP. Toyota will mark up theirs.
yo hair is actually dope
The suspension is too low for me. 1 foot of snow and that thing is struggling. WRX is the compromise but the design is good.

I love my BRZ, such a fun car
Id say the 86 premium is a little nicer. It has an Alcantara dash shade, armrest, steering wheel, and leather/alcantara seats.
BRZ because I am a Subaru fan boy
Both Subaru & Toyota Are GOOD Cars.
I really wish Subaru put this infotainment in the WRX, it's so nice and practical
The GR86 front has this pursed lips look that I'm not font of. Like the wider smile of the BRZ more.
Just like how the electric Subaru design is from different Toyota vehicles
Yeah I would pick the BRZ over the GR86! which is exactly what I did when I picked mine up last month 🤣
Sounds amazing 😮

Always love the energy in these dudes reviews
Add an AIG closed deck block with forged rotating assembly and an HKS turbo kit, you’ve got yourself a monster. Don’t forget bigger brakes.

the only other difference is the suspension tuning; BRZ front stiff rear soft, GR vice versa. iirc rear sway bar mounting point is different as well
Affordable to buy and maintain, boat loads of fun to drive and with under 250 hp you’ve really got to work at it to lose control. Such a great car.
