Apologies for the little bit of a focus problem and all the shaking in the video. There was a very strong wind at the time on the Saturday Show. Unfortunately the weather was not great that day and because of the low clouddeck, the Raptor pilot could only perform a Flat Demo.
I hope you still enjoyed the video though. It's less spectacular, but still pretty awesome and rare!
There are enough F-22 Demo videos on RUclips though, without any limitations, where the F-22 does all the maneuvers of the Russian jets.

So you back one all the way up to the edge of the stern ramp on a Nimitz or Gerald Ford doing 40 knots into a 10-knot headwind and you don't need a catapult. That's pretty neat.
Who the F... decided to blast AC/DC out of the speakers, when the majority of people in fact came for the complet experience, which indeed include the monster roahh sound of the F-22 Raptor. Just a stupid and not necessary decision..?? Everything else, is just astonishing. Cheers from Denmark

I was stationed at RAF Fairford in 1988-89 and the base has really changed from what i remember.

Pretty crazy that this plane was made so long ago. We should of made much more of these.
Why? They're on the verge of retirement. By the way, there's a replacement that's going to make this plane obsolete. Perhaps the money saved on more raptors will be better spent on the NGAD that's in the works.
@oldschool4456 not any more, the Raptor is going to be around for a long long time, upgrades in the pipeline and its still the most lethal Fighter to date and will continue to be unmatched and lethal for decades to come.

I’ll never understand it
I’ve seen the F 22 turn a complete 360 in its own length, I assume the USAF doesn’t want to display that maneuver to any potential enemy. This aircraft can almost do the impossible which was not on display during this air show.
I saw the f22 do a right angle straight after takeoff, go completely vertical and be 2000 ft in the sky before you could say Chuck Norris, I kid you not.
An F22 pilot said he went vertical fully loaded and the airplane was trying to punch through the sound barrier and he had unofficially destroyed every climb rate record in the process.
God bless America and all of the great Americans that made this mighty spear of freedom possible.

Let's remember this is the old technology we are allowed to know about. A TR-3B fighter and it's cousins is going knock down any Russian, Chinese, or Iranian fighter by completely disrupting their physics and literally running circles around them.

@@sammyboyy2355 Uh, that is _literally_ the definition of the Cobra maneuver there, a vertical climb then a Neg.G upwards tailslide that flattens out the velocity vector to horizontal flight, like the profile of a reared cobra.
@@sammyboyy2355 yeah compared to a full demo aerobatics display. This was just a flat display almost 0 fun vector stuff. Raptor can pull moves that would make a Pitts blush and thats a prop plane made for aerobatics

Each plane is designed for different rolls remember dog fighting days are just about over its all about early detection.
BVR will rule the skies. But besides the F22's flight capabilities are only partially developed. It's a maturation process. More to come keep watching.
Dogfighting is not dead..if that's the case why does the f-22 and the f-35 have a cannon?
It's good to be ready for any contigency--be ready. That is why a fighter pilot carries a knife. Knife fights are better avoided whenever possible. Better to be a sniper from a distance. Beyond Visual Range is maturing and both the F22 and F35 are well designed for it. The long range air-to-air missiles have also matured. The multi-barrel machine gun is heavy, but retained for versatility.
Super agile autonomous dogfight drones are just around the corner. These things will clear the skies pulling g's that no manned aircraft can take. Time for Maverick to get out of the close-in argument business.

I know it's high technology and the most advanced Aircraft Ever but my Baby will always be the F-14 Tomcat ! In its day it was the best, I also loved the F-4 Phantom the only problem with the Phantom was it only had missles no guns ! How could they have overlooked such an important weapon for a fighter to have, if you can't get a missle lock you'd switch to guns in the mid 70's I think they added guns but by that time the F-14 was taking its place.... I agree. The F-14 Tomcat was an awesome fighter! I will never forget seeing the Tomcat fly for the first time, while visiting Key West in Florida in the late 90s. It was a short moment, but unforgettable! Awesome jet! Powerful and loved the swing-wing! My favorite Tomcat: the VF-32 Jolly Rogers Tomcat! 😍 Will never forget it when watching The Final Countdown as a kid. And ofcourse, Top Gun will always make me think of the Tomcat 😉😎 The Phantom was awesome too! Especially with a sharkmouth painted under the nose 😎

Mark Granger Don't copy what your saying ? Explain it in more detail Mark ! I do know by the time the gun was added it was irrelevant because the F-14 was already in mass production.... If we only had the F-14 in Nam it would of been a whole different ball game lol....
When you look at the F-35 you can tell it's a multi-role jet because it doesn't have that Thoroughbred look built solely for dog fighting. It has different capabilities I assume but its main role is that of a Doberman Pinscher looks and all. Sleek serious and deadly!

The F-35 is honestly a big waste of money my dad has picked more off the ground more than the F-22 but he's been a aircraft mechanic for more than 30+ years and he said the F-22 does things a jet shouldnt be able to do he's seen it hover in the sky and just sit there the F-35 is just too complicated for technology now its good but idk just little biased from me doesn't help that Obama nixed the F-22 program and so unless something changes then no more will ever be made sadly but also my dad was originally a F-15 mechanic during the gulf war and they put the F-35 radar in the F-15 and the F-15 smoked it in multiple scenarios mostly bc the pilot actually flies the F-15 unlike the F-35 where the computer won't let you pull a certain amount of G's he always said if i need to get the fuck out of somewhere you can slam the F-15 stick to any side and turn and burn meanwhile the F-35 it looks basically plastic and fake inside the cockpit
@@ethans7914 The F15 is also fly by wire and has that "g-limiter" that you speak so negatively of. Sure the F35 is complicated but the A variant costs about 80 million dollars and is about 30k per flight hour for comparison the F16 which was designed to be cheap and easy to maintain costs about 25k per flight hour. In addition to this the F22 lacks the A2G capabilities that the F35 posseses. In addition to this the F35 had a 20 to 1 k/d at redflag in 2017. Apparently the F35 feels similar to a hornet according to pilots and is the hornet a bad plane? no. IN conclusion while the F35 was expensive it is constantly getting cheaper and better.

i have been an airplane freak since i was able to read.And im 45. This demonstration almost make me sh1t myself. You may like the USA, you may dislike them.. up to you.. but anybody without bias has to recognize the raptor is a suberb piece of aerial engineering. That thing could blow the angels off the sky even if was just the pilot shooting a revolver from the open canopy.

I don't see any difference in shape between the 2 noses. Maybe due to the light on the 2 different spots of the F-22s is creating a slight difference? I don't know. Maybe.

@@jerrytahaviation I did some screen measurements, and the nose in the background measures shorter on screen (as it should) than the one in the foreground.
I asked because I read that the Air Force had approved a modernization program for the F-22’s computers and sensors. However, having read up, this program was not approved when this awesome footage was posted, and it is mostly a software oriented update.
Thanks for the excellent footage. Even the Air Force’s own F-22 RUclips channel doesn’t compare to yours. Their footage vacillates between relatively incomprehensible 360 degree in-cockpit footage, and maneuvers shown in such slow-motion that you can’t even tell what the jet is really doing.
They added dummy features to the jet and showed it in slow-mo 4K to make China and Russia spend resources researching it.

You're welcome, man. But the song at the entry of the F-22 is really AC/DC with Thunderstruck. Unless you mean the song wich starts just before the F-22 takes off. That is Steel Panther with the song 'Eyes of a Panther'! :-)
Ok so Thunderstruck played at 1:29 I was referring to the song at around 2:55 just before the Raptor takes off and the announcer says "move forward and get ready, the show is about to begin"

The SU-57 copied the shape and design from F-22. Compare them and you will see the similarity. Russians don't hide they openly imitated the F-22 design.
Well there are certain utilities if you want maximum air maneuverability. Nothing american s nor russians have invented, but the answer to law of physics.

Tanh Tran....Aren't we all. Most couldn't handle the G-forces and maintain consciousness even riding shotgun with professional trained pilots who sometimes briefly lose consciousness during flight maneuvers at high speeds or while in dives and sharp turns. I know for myself at least that flying in a modern fighter/attack aircraft would be much more than exciting,but it would not be pleasurable or as fun as it looks.
I hope you'll get the opportunity to fly in a 2 seater model of one of the modern fighter/attack aircraft for a full demo ride if that's what you truly desire,unless you're a pilot and want to actually fly one yourself. They do have some pretty amazing trainer aircraft in a few nations. I've heard the Russian military offers a ride along in some of their fighter/attack jets for a price. Not sure if it's worth what it costs,but there's that possibility for you perhaps. Take care,&post again to let us know what it was like if you get to take that flight.

The F-22 Raptor is just elegant in its profile or anyway you look at it number one and number two I really wonder how it would do against the Russian MiG-29 in combat but hopefully we'll never find out unless one quickie happens out over the Atlantic by accident oops but I have a feeling they mess around just a bit if they spot each other floating along and probably with good humor or maybe that's just my personal image about what would happen if they bumped into each other so to speak. I'm a raptor guy not because I'm American cuz that trumps everything but I just feel like they say like clubbing a baby seal and excuse the metaphor.
The mig-29 is a pushover it is 6:18 in aerial combat. If it bumped into a mig29 the fulcrum would get smoked.

This was an underwhelming showcase of this aircraft's abilities. I wonder why they didn't show more of it's ridiculous maneuverability at low speeds. This aircraft can flip around like an acrobat, and do things that almost defy physics.
I understand, man. You can blame the weather for that. Very low clouddeck, so as a result, a flat demo. Hence the limited showcase of the Raptor's ablilities.
@@jerrytahaviation - I kind of figured that. Just like the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds low shows are much less inspiring than the ones on a clear, sunny day. have you had the opportunity to see the full show of the F-22? It is something to be seen. The SU-27 series of aircraft, particularly the SU-35 have nothing on the Raptor. Even if it came down to a visual dogfight, the F-22, with a well trained pilot, would easily lay waste to anything the Russians and Chinese had to throw at us. I doubt it would ever become a visual range fight though, because the Raptor (and the F-35) would have detected and had weapons loose, long before any adversary would even know there was a threat nearby.
Yeah, it's really disappointing, when you look forward to see an awesome demo at an airshow and the weather sucks... :-( I experienced that with the F-22 and the Thunderbirds...it sucks big time. In Europe it's rare to see the F-22 and the Thunderbirds. 2 years ago I even experienced that an F-22 was ready for take off for its demo and ATC pulled off the demo! The Raptor then taxied back...! It really sucked. lol. Will make a video of that soon. Also very rare to see. ;-) Hope to see and film a normal demo of the Raptor one day, maybe in the U.S.
Unfortunately the weather in Western Europe often sucks during an airshow season. In 2006 though - when the Blue Angels payed a visit to the Netherlands - the weather was good, but I had to work...lol
I agree on that; I also think the Raptor and the Lightning II will detect any adversary soon, so this would prevent a visual range dogfight. The Raptor and Lighting II are 2 mighty kickass jets, for sure. 100% tha best! :-) Thanks for watching and commenting, my friend. Greetz

All fabulous machines, but the more and more sophisticated defence systems that countries have will make them all redundant in the not so distant future. Manoeuvre ability ain’t the priority any more. Avoiding detection is!
There will always be close in fighting. Not as much anymore sure, but if your plane cannot hold its own in a dogfight (I'm talking air superiority aircraft) it's all for nothing. Stealth and BVR are the main importance for sure, but you need to be able to out fight your opponent. Vietnam was a great case of this no more dogfighting mentality, and it cost a lot of lives, until people like Gen. Olds teaching dogfighting, and they have kept up ever since.
Looks like very basic flying. Not sure if they want to keep the abilities secrecy. But the SU-37 looks way better than that as in flying and looks. Raptor looks cool, but has a basic body shape. But I know US planes can shoot you down like 2 miles away. Dog fight .. too bad we couldn't do simulation with the Russians....I think both sides would like to find out "things". But both sides has "secret weapons" not revealed.

...iv'e seen one take off in Hawaii and all i can say is thank God we have them, the sound alone was unreal ...iv'e never heard such a sound like that before...it was like a continues sonic boom sound...
The reason they were so expensive per unit is that we didn't build the full amount that was originally planned. So the huge R&D cost was spread out over 187 planes. If they had built the original 339 Aircraft, the unit cost would have much less. And if they build the VERY original number of over 700, the price would have been MUCH MUCH lower. But the idiot Bob Gates of both the George W. Bush administration and the Obama administration killed the program and they only built 187. This was one of the stupidest decisions ever made by any Secretary of Defense and to my knowledge Gates has never been held accountable for it. As might be expected, the decision was made in the Obama administration. I think Obama might have made the call. But I don't know that.
