Next video: *_HOW FAST CAN A GO KART LAP THE NORDSCHEIFE?_*
Kart are so hard on the nordschleife :c
using a deathkart mod, 100hp 125cc shifter top speed 270kmh, insane fun
@@sombuddy9534 that sounds like a superkart which would be kind different than what he is driving in here
@@sombuddy9534 Well it seems to be the GT6 kart with 2 times more hp
i did a test in Pc2 once, but you had to keep the revs low to not blow the engine on those endless straight. cant remember the time but it was definetly under 12 min
Anybody noticed how the driver's legs gently sway left and right according to rotational forces? Neat.
Ya
Yea
Yeah, ironically enough this little movement actually really tires out your legs in a real race
And it is one of the main factors behind the Ackermann effect. Pretty neat to see that in a game, for all other sim racings games have not put that into their simulations!
Gotta buy my copy of the game!
radspeed team 113 yeah and the sides of ur knees get bruised after a weekend of hitting kerbs hard
But how fast will it lap the Nordschleife?
faster than the evo.
Probably around 10 minutes lol
the question is, would it run out of fuel?
You meant, how *slow*, certainly...
@@rafaelmoutinho3366 in real life no.... Kart tanks are 10 litres.
As someone who used to race karts, this is visually impressive. Also the sound of the x30 is spot on good lord.
I have flashbacks to when i used to race the first time i heard the audio lol. I loved the x30 engine. By far my favorite single speed engine to use. Now he just needs the yamaha engines, Those made a very unique noise.
Honestly I hope they get the rotax and kt100 Yamaha
For comparison on how the x30 sounds in game there’s a vid on my channel of me racing my x30
@@radspeed113 I think they will defo put rotax in
Doesnt sound like he can keep the band though very disappointing
Im surpriced at how accurate this looks from my own karting experience, feeling slides is actually quite difficult in a kart so thats maybe why it isnt shown so much in the FFB as you say. Although i'd have to judge the ffb myself. The steering and reactions of the kart seem accurate though.
For me aswell, I'm surprised how detailed this is!
Yea i would slide the kart all the time and not realise it when i used to race. Id love to use one of my old outdated frames and build a motion rig for this.
My son played this and it's pretty close
You feel slides in karts with your butt. Not in the wheel. You do feel understeer though.
Understeering kart is terrible, so they rarely do it as much as this does. But this bounces around just like beginner on powerful kart does in real life :)
3:30 Jimmy tries to downshift xD
@@hamdanali5203 hahahahahahahaha
The best kart sim costs 4-5$ and is 20 km away from me
Lucky, for me, it's 22€ for 10 F*CKING MINUTES...
@Daniel Matias É bom ver gente de portugal até no canal do Jimmy
For me it's 15€ for 10 minutes and then 10€ for every extra 10 min
Mine is, I have no idea how much it costs but it's 220 Km away from my location.
For me it’s £5 for 7 mins and it’s 3 miles from my house
Wow they nailed the 2-stroke sound for sure, loving it!
yeah at 16000 rpm
Thanks for the video, I’ve now had a chance to drive this sim. And have been a karter for yrs.
You’d be best served going to a kart track and understanding how they handle to appreciate this simulation imho.
Unlike expensive cars this is not an outta reach idea either.
Braking seemed to be your nemesis on this video.
You kinda only brake to be able to engage a fraction of the front end steering angle “understeer friction” ,well before turn in as to help rear rotation way earlier than you demonstrate.
A lot of the time you can achieve this just via comprehension without brakes.
You need to be in control of the rear end oversteer slip angle via the throttle nearly all lap and well before any apex, more at initial turn in. In tight sections thats all your really doing, a flick turn in and counter steer rear rotation, Steering the kart from the rear.
(Dirt on iracing comes to mind. Heaps of understeer if driven incorrectly. Or rallycross even).
The steering lock on a kart is so minimal you cant do a 30 meter uturn without rear throttle control.
So a hair pin is 100% negotiated by the rear end slip.
“You dont steer around like a car on a street, drive it like you stole it as a minimum)
I’d have to admit the sim when driven with intent is very accurate and very drivable.
To a point that there’s nothing out there that I know that represents the attitude of driving more correctly. Maybe dirt on iracing.
Obviously theres no seat of the pants feel, but there’s plenty of steering ffb to simulate that rear end feel. Like dirt on iracing.
In a real kart you don’t really feel understeer at pace through the wheel. It’s something you train yourself to minimise, it comes on very quick if you haven’t flicked the back to an over steer state. And as you mentioned its the same in this sim. There’s no weight on the front just your 2 feet.
But the rear rotation through the wheels ffb is very detailed to help represented grip.
The tires heat up brilliantly and maintain a good grip level through all slip angles that you can work with nicely.
I feel iracing is yet to master that on the road cars compared to its dirt model.
It’s a thumbs up from me and kinda can teach you the fundamentals of sim racing as karts do in the real world too.
It’s probably the best training tool before we hop onto iracing. But again iracing lacks the rear end tire feel or some people say they over heat too quick no allowing you time to maintain throttle rear rotation grip . Maybe if iracing could achieve the same rear grip feel on road tracks as it’s dirt modelling it’ll be closer.
being a kart fan/driver I have to say that it looks really freaking good and realistic!
Yeah : D
Spot on about the distortion of engine sounds, i will say thats one of the reasons i love Rush, the sound was loud but it made you feel like you were there watchimg hunt in his glory
Buzzing that you chose my local track. They’ve done a good job of it too, looks pretty much spot on. The curbs look a bit new but other than that the attention to detail is great!
quick kart tip: pitch it into corners hard and turn with your right foot....oversteer is your friend
On 125cc race karts, yes. On rentals, no, because you don't have enough torque to properly slide. I'm saying this as a guy who drives both.
His review in a few words:
"let me take it for one more lap"
amazing ... talking without a break AND driving very good as well!!! A+++++
Ok, was feeling sad because I only have an Xbox but now I know it’s on console... I think this might be the most excited I’ve been for a sim full stop. I get to drive one of the best forms of motorsport on a wheel from my own home now which is absolute pog. I’ve been to PFi a couple of times (never actually raced there though - never raced full stop but I have driven a mini max once or twice) including the world champs last year and I can say that the karts behaviour looks exactly like an X30 does round there in real life. From the clipping-the-kerb-into-massive-slide to the constantly on edge handling... epic. Also, little tip, try using more kerb in the first chicane and more turn in on the first corner going of the bridge. Enough ranting from me though
TheBiggestMac Same, i kart in real life and im playing on xbox one and have been wanting a good sim for so long now! FINALLY
Awesome! I have actually a fair amount of track experience around PFI so will have to see how close they have managed to get it to RL
I raced Karts for 22 years, and the one thing that all karting games do wrong is that the chassis sits too flat.
It’s so difficult to replicate the flex in the chassis, and the outside bite from the weight distribution of the driver moving in the seat. The feeling of being on 3 wheels every corner.
In reality, you would use the steering wheel to simply point the kart into a corner, the weight would transfer onto the outside wheels and “dig”, and use the outside bite to carry you through the corner with very minimal steering input. You barely even need to move a steering wheel on a kart.
Have to agree with altought i dont really have that feeling of only driving on 3 wheels but i saw it when i analysed a video that was filmed of me. But your description sounds very accurate
Iceman ___ Well, you aren’t literally driving on three wheels haha, but you essentially are during a corner. I should’ve elaborated that.
All the weight transfers to the outside, the kart flexes, and the inside rear picks up and essentially skins across the surface of the track.
Sometimes you can physically see that inside rear pick up on initial entry to a corner with a soft axle and bitey rear haha.
Too soft and the kart flexes too much and causes massive grip and “bog” through corners. Too stiff and the kart doesn’t flex enough so that inside rear doesn’t lift enough and gives you a “skatey” rear, and also potentially too much push on the front.
I think i know what you mean i just can't really put it into words as most is insticual. Though i have to say i was in the x30 equivalent the kf3 at that time always a were stiff setup
That's why it's a game ... Jesus give me the power to survive!
I've never been able to explain it properly, I raced karts for 12 years or so. This description is spot on!
Your apexes were spot on, Jimmer. The only problem is that you have not yet understood how the kart drives and corners.
Use the brake to slow down enough, and that enough is about the necessary to rotate the back to the place where you want the kart to turn in, then you use the throttle and the steering wheel to complete the rotation.
The kart MUST be quick to turn, and you need to have enough feeling to learn when the kart will slip out too much. That is the secret.
As soon as you understand that the kart is slipping its back too much, ease off the throttle JUST a little bit, or a quick bad on the brake and it will get the grip you need.
And slow down a bit more before the corners, when the kart understeers, it is because you are too fast going into the corner.
Been driving karts from a few years, now. Try those tips, you may have a surprise!
Cheers!
The physics looks real. I do the same thing when i driving real karting. (sure, recreation carting)
I’ve been waiting for this game to come out for over 15 years.
I'm a game pad user & ps4 (Can't afford my wheel set-up yet ☹) and I found the karting in project cars 2 very difficult and extremely twitchy but if this game comes to console I'd definitely get as it does look great fun!! Hopefully I can get my racing rig and pc and see u guys in iracing sometime. Great vid, as always, enjoyed ur stream, keep up the great work and thanx for the all the fun I've had watching u racing...take care jimmy!! 👍
Looks spot on. I used to race karts and really hope this hits consoles. Not being able to feel it when you lose the kart is realistic.
As someone who is familiar to karting this looks like a very promising title
Sound is amazing, could drive through that tunnel all day :D
i must say i love the aggressive distorted sound at high rpm. if more sims sounded like that, it'd be insane. imagine AC with those sounds in VR mmm
I was testing at PFI in my rotax 2 weeks ago and this looks a very good representation of the track. The final sector is amazing in real life the most fun iv had yet although we only got 1 dry run before the rain so lap times went out of the window and just have fun came to the table haha. Sideways is best ways 😁
as a kart racer theres a few things you gotta do, break harder for a shorter amount of time, if done correctly this will cause the rear of the kart to rotate then feed the throttle on quickly if not smash the throttle and drive it out
Picked the game up at the weekend and its got loads of potential - love the responsive devs and their enthusiasm to make it as good as it can be. Really looking forward to seeing how it develops.
I just got it today for the first time and have loved it! playing in VR had been incredibly immersive
i can't wait for you to build the official Pog-Kart!
Thinking of picking it up at the summer sale going on now. I'd never really considered karting something I'd do on the computer, but it does look fun and seems to fill a gap in my existing racing library. Looks mad fun
I do race go karts and this is the game you can practice on when you are at home on your console
Heard this is great in VR since the view in a kart is so widely open.
::spins out of control backwards across the track::
Lap Invalid - you've gained an advantage
Vettel accomplished.
ITS FINALLY OUT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG
Is modding for track already available? were about to switch from KRP as track creation is a total nightmare
I like how the legs move while cornering. You don't see that very often in car games.
I recently went karting and man I loved it, really challenging but I loved it, In America we have a thing called k1 speed which is electric karting and they aren’t nearly as fast as those things and they’re also indoors
As a kart racer I can’t wait to play this game
Nice one Jimmer. Good stuff.
Super GT needs to know about this sim!
As you said you don’t race Karts but when driving Karts a lot of it is visual as it is so light it moves around so quickly. So that’s actually more accurate than you might think. It definitely won’t give the best playing experience but it is more realistic than all the feedback instead.
I'm no doctor but I feel confident saying those wrists are broken
I LOVE YOU THICC BOI!!!!! Keep up the amazing vids!
as someone who owns a 2 stroke go kart i have to say, that thing sounds really spot on
As a karting driver that has driven an IAME X30 on PFI I have to say this looks very accurate, handling looks very realistic aswell. The kerbs seem to unbalance the kart a bit more than normal but that may be setup aswell has his steering input
Man seeing Jimmy hitting no curbs at PFI made me cringe hard. Also, half of karting is just licking the stamp and sending it
Ryan Shehan agreed 👍
The amount of times he turns in makes me wanna kill myself i swear
Hey, he's fun, not good.
Same here hahaha, been to PFI a couple of times, and the curbs are pretty brutal
@@Joe.Howard11 we are saying you HAVE to hit the curbs.
That center pillar looks like it'll murder the sides of your knees.
It looks superb. There is actually quite a bit of flex in the tires in real life. And there is a MASSIVE difference from cold to hot tires. Tires get so sticky they kinda glue to the track when you park the kart after a session.
Steering input must be super smooth. Turning the kart scrubs of speed no matter how little. Solid rear axle creates high rolling resistance when turning. Brake balance is 100% rear, so that is why you need to be careful.
Force feedback should be MASSIVE! You feel every single stone in the road.
I have 5 classic pre-2000 karts in my garage and I've been racing those on and off for the last 20+ years.
I drive karts and im so excited for this game bc there isnt really any good kart sims at the moment.
Looks sooo accurate I can’t wait for it to come out for console
Will definitvly try put aside some money for this game in the future. Ben playing a bunch of the kart mod for AC and this just looks like a better version of that!
I’d love these visuals with „normal“ race cars. Because the graphics are really really good
I was wondering when you were gonna play this. I played the shit out of it! Would like to see if you could beat my 33.5 at Geelong :D
That's a pretty badass time for Geelong '3'
@@codysykes5568 I'm 8th overall nationally but a bunch of people glitched it and are running 22's. :C
MrAeroHD yea there’s a glitch, but people are running high 31s and low 32s, managed to get myself a 2nd place globally last time I checked:)
Pnda VIII Top time is like a 22 something so i’m guessing you’re 2nd BEFORE all the glitched times? and i’ll have to get back out there then!
MrAeroHD no I can see all the others that haven’t glitched, theres a clear gap between those who have and those who haven’t, so im basically like 15th but legit im somewhere top 5
This really looks like I'm watching someone race karts with an onboard helmet cam.
the p.f track is spot on but like you say hard to feel the real sensations on a sim
Make sure you get the tyres pattering under braking jimmer and use those kerbs when it's wet
You need to stab the brake corner entry, knocks the back sideways. Grab it and do a controlled drift. You'll avoid mid corner understeer you're getting.
this game in VR will be amazing, together with ranked multiplayer pure mayhem
The mighty pfi track, Do a lot of endurance days there, track is spot on
What FFB and wheel settings are you running. Looks so much smoother than mine.
Awesome video as always
I would LOVE to see your Settings ... out of the box? or FFB changed a lot or very little adjustments?
As a Karter bit of advice don’t be jerky on steering wheel and put barely any steering lock on to the point where the wheel is almost straight because if not you will just lap slower but great video keep up the good work
These karts are hard work but fun used to race at ellough park UK was fun. Smoothness is key and uve got to use the littlest steering input.
Hello there Jimmy !
keep up the good streams 😄
As someone who currently races an x30, the sounds are absolutely spot-on. The track I race at is quite different to most, so I can’t comment too much on how the handling of the kart looks, but the reactions and steering effects look pretty correct
Also it is definitely better to rotate using the brake rather than the throttle in most karts, as they have centrifugal clutches, so getting on the throttle causes it to direct drive and will induce understeer almost every time
I have to agree that he should use the brake to turn but you will also can use the throttle really depends on the driving style and engine because you can actually use that understeer
When I get to about 15 thousand RPM I start to lose traction and spin out, I'm I missing something?
Jimmer, in karting a lot of the braking is stamped on. The quickest guys (not me) stamp on the brakes super late to lock the rears and rotate the kart. I don't know how that translates to the sim but thats how they do it irl
It's spot on what a game! Just got it.
I like the Lincoln Shire Go Kart Track!
I raced around PFI several times (rental karts tho) and it's my favourite UK circuit by miles
IAME x30 125cc is a very common engine that alot of TaG's and shifters use so makes sense why it's the only available atm
can you post your settings for your simucube? in the game as well in the simucube software. I struggle with the FFB a bit. Find no sweet spot.
You missed a lot of good opportunities to belt out a waluigi "WAH"
just from watching, it looks like the kart handles really close to how they do in real life, plus the sound of the x30 is spot on. Mod support for this would be so good for adding tracks that aren't in the base, for any people that are good at adding tracks I'd suggest Newcastle Kart Racing Club, not to be biased to the fact its the track I race on, it's just a great track. I hope Energy is in this, again no biased to the fact my Brother and I both drive Energy.
Stolen_Omen309 maybe a little bias ;)
Question though Jimmy!
How did you get your brake detected? I got the Pro's and somehow it only detects my throttle and clutch?
Well it works but I'd rather have the actual brake be the ingame brake..
Cheers
Figured it out, I blame one of my several cats.
Working fine now!
But my god, this is great
Having done some karting along the way (also Rotax 250) I frikkin love it!!
I'm not a fan of hot lapping but KartKraft got me addicted anyway. Impressive...
for having driven gokarts twice in your lifetime you're pretty good
Idk why, but you wearing racing gloves just cracks me up..lol..You have a sweet ass set-up, dude. *What is your setup?*

The hands have no bonds
Hahahahaha
There is a aid for controller that makes it easy to use, also the game pad is within 2 tenths of wheel so its pretty competitive
Hi Jimmy, can you tell me your OSW settings please... I have so much Problems with the right settings... Thx Daniel
Love that reverb
keep posting updates of this game please jimmy
Rally sims recently? 🤔
Dirt Rally 2.0 soon
Sounds like a real Kart!
Hi Mr Broadbent - any chance of a '4 years later' review on KartKraft?
I often forget I live like 25 minutes from one of the largest kart tracks in the world
The driver's wrists are extremely flexible
I love this game since i have bought it, it's really immersive, addictive and funny
You can be really aggressive with the x30 engine in real life. But something like a kz2 would be different
You're 2 seconds off the WR,not bad Jimmy :)
How does this compare to the karts in PC2?
3:40
Me. is this the best it got?
3:45
Jimmer: Hold my beer!
That looks soooo incredibly good! A pity that there seems no Mac version :( Is there any alternative for Mac?
That engine sound is too real I'm having PTSD flash backs.Oh god the arm pump , the tortured neck muscles and the price of maintenance. It was just like nam except everyone was trying to kill each other with karts instead of guns.
I’m a BKC Karter irl and I’ve raced round PFI try and stay off the Kerbs apart from the final corner and T3 entrance
Is the natural progression to f1 done via these style karts then up to what I assume would be forumula 3, formula 2 then 1 etc... Or Formula E
I've played it with a controller , feels very nice indeed !!
