@@marktime9235 I don't think so but it is difficult to compare when the BMW is so quick through the turns. Only if the bike was right behind could they be compared . The bike would probably be quicker 100 - 230 then the car equal from 230 to 250 after which the car would pull away.
Is it only me recognising the P1’s respect? The guy knew his limitations and recognised a faster driver behind him. So got out of the way. Not everyone in his situation would have done the same

Well done on an R6.. BUT did anyone notice the car ahead of the McLaren at the start!!! I thought it was an M3 at 1st but I haven't a clue I'm more into bikes, nobody was catching him he even pulled away from the Yam R6 so credit to him.

Sven Laurien jetzt mal ehrlich .. ;-))) die machen 1. keinen auf dicke hose, sondern haben eins der geilsten und schnellsten autos der welt unterm hintern .. 2. haben nen mords spass und 3. kennen die strecke nicht - da nützt es wie man sieht auch nichts wenn man 900+ ps hat, es ist immernoch die anspruchvollste(und schönste) rennstrecke der welt .. vor allem haben sie sich völlig korrekt verhalten .. im gegensatz zu so einigen kandidaten die völlig überfordert sind und nicht mitbekommen was um sie herum passiert .. also alles gut - all about the fun . .und den hatten wir alle :) und der beifahrer war powerslidelover .. ein richtig schneller autoenthusiast der LaFerrari .. GT3RS und co wirklich flott bewegt .. hoffe die zwei laden in kürze auch mal ihr material hoch :D
Wer den Ring nicht kennt hat keine Chance auf gute Zeiten, egal welches Fahrzeug er fährt! Um so schöner, wenn einer wie der P1-Fahrer die Eier hat, vermeintlich schwächere vorbei zu lassen! Es ist doch immer wieder schön, solche Kommentare von Leuten zu lesen, die den Ring offensichtlich noch nie aus der Nähe gesehen haben...

Can't believe the bike was only a 600!
The car driver, who posted this video, knows the rider. His name is Murtanio. He wrote that it was an R6 in the description. If you watch other Nurburgring bike videos you will see that a quick rider on an R1 is quicker accelerating and faster on the longer straights but the R6 is a little quicker on many bends and especially rapid changes of direction plus braking is superior. Until Andy Carlisle lapped on an Yamaha R1 at 7.10 (Bridge To Gantry), the quickest BTG lap was on an R6 or GSXR 600 at 7.28 I think. So on a medium to tight course like this, there isn't that much difference between a 600 cc sports bike and a 1,000 cc sports bike.

A lightened track spec 600 isn't much slower than a street ready literbike in a straight. Today's literbikes are so light though that a track spec literbike will corner just as well as the 600 and go mental on a straight.
even tiny SEAT can keep up with the 600 bike.. the SEAT driver’s totally skilled driver.. if he drives better car definitely can overtake that bike easily! Yes easily!!!

As someone the same as you - I totally agree! - the Cupra driver is undoubtedly very good but the skill and risk dynamics to pilot that R6 at that pace are 10 times higher.. put the R6 rider in the Cupra and he might go into orbit!!... though it doesn't always work like that, I suppose..

I'm doing track days myself on my gixxer. And I can assure you what this guy is doing on the bike, especially with cars around him, is more than impressive!
It's always the hands, but that Seat moves astonishing well too. And they are affordable. Respect for car driver and biker. And P1 driver did well too.

As a car guy and a biker - much respect xthilox, very fast indeed considering your car. Actually accelerating at the right points. The biker is indeed amazing though. Much, much harder to drive a bike fast than car - much more "3 dimensional"

Even if he was confident. U have to think twice. If u crash such an exotic car it not only that u trashed 1.5m, u won't get a new one because don't build them anymore.

mikes1471 This could be many factors. I am actually a quiet descend driver, but if I would have the chance to drive a mclaren p1 I would not race as fast as I would now. This car is just to expensive to crash it into the barriers. And also its maybe his first time on the track.
And also was there alot of traffic as you can see! He always had a car infront which didnt let the p1 driver pass. The P1 driver also didnt had a terrible racingline

Rider, Murtanio was on an R6. He has done many, many laps of the Nordschleife and is obviously very smooth and skillful. Being on drugs or just riding on adrenaline on this circuit is tantamount to suicide especially among heavy semi-race traffic with boy racers for drivers. No drugs required, skills, talent and concentration are needed.

In all the other Nürburgring videos you see how motorbikes go slowly around the ring, stand no chance against cars. But this guy really killed it, driving at the limit of his machine.

As already mentioned that biker was insane, he either knew his bike and the track inside out or was pushing to the limit, either way that was a good show. Every other car was just like a Sunday drive in comparison.
P1 driver would make a very nice boat driver! But that Biker deserves some serious respect!

if you notice the P1 has a hard time keeping the line smooth thru the corners, a car with that much downforce and that suspension does not do that at that unless the drives keeps striking the steering wheel hard. Not smooth at all, Leon has no problem hunting it down at braking and entry point.
keep in mind, track knowledge and constant "training" on this circuit is so important.
also keep in mind how expensive this car is, probs for the owner that he has driven it there!

Spanked the bike good and proper? Where? Which video was you watching? The rider, on a R6 Yamaha (600 cc) came from behind, passed on the quickest bend on the circuit and gradually pulled away in traffic. The driver knows the rider and they have plenty of respect.for each other.

Driving a Seat Leon Cupra this quickly on the ring like this guy means he is no slouch and is probably quicker than 95% of cars on tourist days. This guy in the Seat has probably done more than 100 laps. It's the P1 driver's second lap on the ring. Would you risk a 1m + P1 by driving balls out on an unfamiliar circuit, especially one as potentially dangerous as Nurburgring?
and with the random skill levels and cars that are on the track. I would pass on being aggressive too
