I like that Alva and Finn are different, but they couldn’t be any more similar. If it were Alva that went to the motherland, she’d have the same experiences as Finn. They’re both the last humans on their respective islands and they both have funny animal friends and live in a tree. The weather on both the islands are strange, as there are knife storms which are normal for Finn and Jake but would be weird for Alva. Alva and Finn are really two sides of the same coin
That movie sequence where Alva shows Finn how everyone else died scared the fuck out of me when I saw it. Something about how silent it is as it happens is so fuckin unsettling
I feel like this implies that there were other countries and cultures before the great mushroom war happened. Which would explain why Alva speaks swedish, unlike any of the other human characters shown.
@@k2geekd But you need to take in consideration that its a cartoon. So for all we know, everyone could of been anything. I do get what you're saying tho, but keep an open mind always.
@@FinkDaMushyCat Yeah, english just dominated because today, english is just the dominant language. But it makes sense that there should be at least a few non-english speaking humans, or there being different human ethnic diasporas. wasn't the dude who made BMO an italian?
I think they all used to be companions possibly used to help with work. Similar to the bear that follows Alva around. They must have gone feral when all the human infrastructure failed.
I think the only issue I have with episodes like this is that they can ironically to easily slide to portraying a misunderstanding of nature itself too and treat it a bit as if there is a specific point that nature exists on when that point is just as much dependent on the interections within the enviroment itself(a bit more complicated with this as stablization event can occur too from specific pressures). It ironically makes us potentiolly more likely to do the same mistakes as the scientists did but not because of embracing technology and instead because of efforts to conserve the same enviroment itself. Nature should not neccsarily be confused with a nerccsarily stable aspect rather it is that things change within it and that affect what is occuring and existing stablely within it for periods too. But perhaps that is also supposed to be the dual message with this episode ass you pointed out in the name back to nature and alvas relationshup with it and her biotic tree.
i have a theory that all the people that were there were the settlers with the animal hats in the mini series, stakes, as it were before the guardian bot was made Edit: you can also see a statue of the leader with his goat hat, which explains why everyone there was wearing an animal hat, like Finn with is recognizable bear hat
I thought that too for a while but two bread tom and king have to be separate characters because the flashbacks in stakes occur hundreds of years before the show
Another great video dude. Everything about the other humans is so incredibly interesting. I wonder if the weather control was invented as a way of dealing with the fallout from the mushroom bomb? Can't have a nuclear winter without winter.
I might be slow on the draw here, but is there a reason that the wolf who attacks Hiram has the same booties as the tiny creature in the trap that fooled Finn?
Don't get me wrong, I definitely watched his video before I made this own, but I tried to tell just Alva's story. And tie everything back to her character. Instead of just the Elements miniseries. I also have a lot of my own original thoughts in here. But I can see where you're coming from
I feel like you just said the same thing several times without going any deeper than, this is what happens when humans try to go back and shes such a poor old lady. It just feels kind of rambly and id rather just watch the episode at this point. I think the replaying of the same 5 scenes does it no favors, as well.
The "become one-with-nature" ecological approach derails, when she needs a metal enforced hitech-bunker to survive the weather. As a elderly granny type she is heavily reliant on technology, she just integrated it very good.
i got a research suggestion. im rewatching adventure time and the episode dads dungeon we meet a couple new villains like the demon who joshua made the demon blood sword from, we know a little about him but what about the monster that was protecting the demon blood sword that was finns final test. i think thats the first and last time we see him unless he was in the orange sea of monsters
I had the same thought. Too many adjectives that seem like filler and don’t actually add to the narrative. Probably fine for written work but it’s laborious as a script. In my opinion, anyway.
Really good video. But maybe cut back on rephrasing some stuff over and over again, get's a little grating after a while. Noticed it on a few other videos of yours as well. Still subbing though, you have some really interesting stuff.
love the story of alva and all but this video feels like the creator had like 5 sentences that were rephrased 20 times each to strech into 10 minutes. no offense ofc but if looking at the info output it was uncomfortably low.
I was curious too because there was sort of a lot of repetitiveness going around. Like I get that Alva ended up on top of everything. She endured and continues to do so with some of the help of the technology rooted from her past. And a lot of talk about the weather but that was pretty much the video saying almost the same thing every minute. I had to skip ahead several times but found nothing too new. Should’ve been like a 5-minute video probably, but it reached nearly ten minutes…
just because you used it a few times, harmonious = /har-MOE-nee-us/, and harmoniously should be used in adverbial positions. also, severity = /se-VAIR-it-tee/

Alva another character with a depressing backstory, there are quite a few like that in Adventure Time tho-
I mean, it's a post-apocalyptic series
I think most of those have tragedy as a recurrent theme

Did you think that only the continent of North America was canon to Adventure Time?
See everything he said sounds correct and cool. However he failed to mention why every single animal has weird little shoes on.

I noticed the giant parrot, and Alva's bear pet also have same booties. So guessing it's just weird artistic detail for this islands animals
Maybe it has something to do with attempting to train the animals?
