Thank you for your lessons.
Someone asked about your accent. It is exactly like my school head's accent. She was Irish, too. Great nostalgia. Looking forard to more videos. Always something new! Thanke you
Thanks Katie, we Irish turn up everywhere, don’t we? 😁☘️🎶
Wow! That's a great setup. Not at all how I imagined online classes to be. Hello Oscar and Daisy 👋😀. What beautiful dogs! 😍
Thanks Sharey, they’re great doggos, I’m blessed to have them 😊🐶
Good to know! By the way, you might want to play your videos and listen before you post them because the microphone volume in this video often went so very low it was practically inaudible...:)
Thanks for letting me know, Raja, I do play them back before posting, so I wonder what’s happening with this one? 🤔 I’ll see what I can find out!
what are you theory to practice polyrhythms.
Thanks Ed, polyrhythms are a complex area, aren’t they? At some point I hope to devote a video to them, but in the meantime there are some good videos to be found on RUclips and my advice would just be to keep practicing and be patient, you will master them with time. Best of luck! 😊🎶
Started lessons six months ago after learning alone from ground zero using the myriad of RUclips videos telling me to “just practice this” and eventually becoming overwhelmed and not knowing what to do in order to progress. All of my lessons to date have been online. Started on Skype but sound and connectivity were appalling. Teacher has just switched to Zoom...much better on both counts. One thing I noticed was the view from your webcam to watch your hands play was in reverse. A bit confusing to follow? Would the webcam not better set up behind your shoulder?
Very observant, Andy! Yes, from my perspective, the view on the webcam looks reversed when I’m using Zoom (so I avoid looking at it so as not to confuse myself!), and I always double check with my students, but oddly for them the view is always the right way around! The main platform I use for teaching though is called Rock Out Loud Live (ROLL) which was developed specifically for music teaching so the sound quality is fantastic. Might be worth checking out for your teacher?
Thanks for the speedy reply. I assume that it requires the purchase of an account? My teacher looked at purchasing a Zoom account for teaching and said it would cost £2000 ! I will take your advice and pass on your suggestion and she can decide for herself.
Good Lord, that’s a lot! 😱 I pay around €15 a month for complete access to ROLL, and for the few students that use Zoom I use the free service. ROLL has a free service too, it just requires the teacher to set up a new password for every lesson which is time consuming. There’s also a free trial period for 7 days to try it out. Best of luck with the lessons either way 😊
@@LeCheileMusic many thanks for the advice
I love your accent! It’s so calming! Where did you get the overhead camera stand from. Is it suitable for an iPhone 11 or a go pro hero 4?
Thanks Richard, it’s a very ad hoc affair involving a microphone stand, an iPhone holder and lots of sellotape! 😆😆
