True. The curse itself is just a manifestation of a persons grievances and regrets, hence why Ink MK transforms into MK's previous enemies and his Stone Monkey form. The curse *is* MK, at least, the part of himself that he hasn't accepted/controlled, and the part of him which believes his enemies rising to power was his own fault. It is his own personal demons given form, power, and is a manifestation of what MK fears he will become.
Also, the first line of full Monkey MK is "Well alright then", almost like he's saying that to the ink demon. "Then prove us wrong" "Well alright then"
Ink seems to work in both ways: Manipulate you using your darkest repressed thoughts to make you weaker and defeat you, but also to show you to not ignore things. To face them head-on and decide your path because if you just ignore the past, mistakes will repeat once again.
Similar in using a pen and paper. When you write on a paper you make a mistake but you just ignore but then again you made another mistake on the paper everytime.
@@christianvirtudazo3106You can still learn from writing or drawing using pen without pencil. With a pen I could often, but not always, fix a mistake by changing the direction of a drawing. Whether it's adding a new object or changing the pose, or making the outer lines darker. But sometimes, what's done is done and the mistake can't be fixed up.
The thing I find compelling about Monkie Kid is that when MK would do something unacceptable or stir up problems. He faces the repercussions, and seeing him suffer the consequences makes him a very sympathetic character. Just like Spider-Man, he didn’t use his great power with great responsibility, so he had to learn the hard way of power and responsibility, he lost his uncle. MK faces consequences which makes him a goodly-written character, unlike a certain character from a Miraculous show.
I agree, as much I USED to like Miraculous, Marientte should at least faces consequences with some of her actions, especially with her stalking of Ariden, honestly the other characters (some major exceptions) are way better then Marientte
I get that the curse is supposed to make you suffer and relive your worst memories and thoughts, but to me it feels more like the curse was trying to MK to acknowledge things he's been ignoring, albeit in a very cruel and seemingly sadistic way. Maybe it's because of my appreciation for nightmares and some other dark entities, but in a way, I feel like the curse was just trying to help MK the only way they knew how. Sure, that makes them look like the bad one in this situation, but if it means that MK can get stronger and face the world head on, then to them maybe playing the bad guy in this moment isn't the worst they can be. ... Now I want the curse, even just a small aspect, to be their own character. I blame Kingdom Hearts for this. 🥲
It's not making anyone relive their past. It's making them live Wukong's legacy. So, you are actually right. It's taking advantage of this opportunity to teach MK (and perhaps Mei and Tang).
Yea sometimes playing the villain to help is what's best for the mc perfect example is zangetsu and Ichigo Ichigo always thought zangetsu wanted to kill him and hate him but later on realized he was teaching him new things the only way he knew how
@@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa790It seemed to be making them relive their past, as I’m pretty sure they stated that all of MK’s friends were reincarnations of the people who traveled with Monkey King
"Some monkey demon thing destined to bring chaos upon the world" kinda sounds like Wukong's story in the movie My Son Goku where wukong was created by an evil being who tries to influence him throughout the movie. Perhaps that's the case with MK
I don't know if anyone else really cares, but that moment from 9:48 to 9:52? That was actually both awesome and terrifying. When pushed to his limits, Qi Xiaotian can scream loud enough to literally _shatter reality._ Also bear in mind, he has only just begun to access his demonic heritage. If this is what he can do at rookie level, who knows what he will be capable of when he grows into it.
interestingly enough, the ink doesn’t immediately consume MK like it does for everyone else, not even Wukong can resist it. Isn’t that weird? And the fact that the ink even takes on MK’s voice and form, Mimicking him and able to reflect his deepest thoughts as he knows himself, not just an echo of regret like it does for others, but a piercing strike right where every secret and insecurity lies. The way he glitches just like the broken memories around him, as if he, himself, is a broken memory.
The Ink Demon makes a fantastic antagonist. Throwing past mistakes and choices made by the team, getting them to acknowledge and accept the consequences, and ending off with "then prove us wrong." It's a good final jab, saying that talk is cheap and you need to move forward with action. Good grief, and I thought we were teaching the younger generations that everything is someone else's fault. We don't know much about the Baboon and Gibbon, but it's safe to assume that they were all born by unorthodox mystical means like Wukong. Maybe MK is just the latest edition to this group.
Well there is some information on the other 2 monkeys of chaos, Red Baboon has knowledge of Yin and Yang, understands human affairs, is adept in its daily life And able to avoid death and lengthen its life, as for the Gibbon it's described to have the ability to seize the sun and the moon, Shorten a thousand mountains, Distinguish the auspicious from the inauspicious, And manipulate planets and stars, I wanna say MK would be the Baboon if he's one of the 2 but idk.
@@azurengamer9392 Don't know about him being the Baboon, unless the idea is he has to still figure out his powers and "human affairs"/maybe the "avoiding death" part could be reincarnation.
